Interesting that they have gone for ‘Donkey Kong Country’ in Japan, because none of the games actually have that title over there. Strongly suggests they are going for a consistent global naming scheme, I think, which makes sense.
The ride looks really exciting and novel - combined with top notch theming, and this should be superb 🤞
It could also be a sign Donkey Kong Country might get a new installment in 2024. One can hope.

That's not gonna happen, so don't get your hopes up. More likely is K. Rool eventually becoming a mascot you can meet or maybe some kind of expansion since Orlando has a bit more space to expand their Nintendo world.
Honestly Tiki Tong is better fit for this ride since he is gonna be a big animatronic which fits better in Orlando

The rumors I heard are even better. We get a different Nintendo franchise for each park, other than Mario, who’s gotta be in every Nintendo World. I heard there’s gonna be a Zelda, Pokemon or Animal Crossing land

In general there is a LOT of irony in Nintendo and Universal partnering up. It will be even more ironic, if Donkey Kong does get his own movie as well.

Just visited Univ Osaka,Japan a few days ago. GREAT park! Super friendly staff. Great theming. Good mix of coasters and really cool shows. Sad that I’m gonna miss the new Donkey Kong ride. Hopefully I can make it back on day.
Some advice: Book your tickets and your Fast Passes way way waaaayyyyy in advance. Probably at least a couple of months. If you aren’t able to secure a Fast Pass make sure to get to the park an hour before opening to scan your tickets for a timed entry into Super Nintendo World. Save some $$ and some suitcase room for some REALLY cool themed popcorn buckets. Have fun!! Enjoyed this park SO much more than DisneySea.

I didn’t know K-O-N-G letters would be a virtual collectible for the new expansion, seeing that not many TH-camrs have shared that in their coverage of the news. Also, the plot for the new roller coaster sounds really cool. Awesome video!
Too bad there's no room at Universal Hollywood - it will be known as the Super Nintendo World that doesn't have all the rides.
Someone correct if I am wrong for it's been over 20 years, but I think Minecart Madness was an actual name of a level in the OG DKC. Here's hoping the ride is as thrilling as the minecart levels were in the Franchise for they were some of the best ones in the games.
The first minecart level in Monkey Mines is called "Mine Cart Carnage" the 2nd minecart level in Kremkroc Industries Inc. is called "Minecart Madness". So yes, you are correct.

USJ has been doing this for years. Same for popcorn buckets. I mean, you could still be right. Disney did try to sue the Japanese company that made Kimba the White Lion, despite clearly existing way before Lion King.

I hope they have a shudder effect for the point of the track where the cart “lands” so you get the feeling of impact with the track. Otherwise looks perfect.
I'm glad the plane is still coming and there is a walkway possible between the coaster and the plane to go to the area behind the coaster to get a play area in there (for the Orlando version as they have more space).
Here's hoping for Orlando's phase two, yes!
I hope they uses that space for something more interesting. Maybe a DK version of Disney's tiki room or another power up band boss fight. Could also add a dedicated gift shop or restaurant.
Coaster looks amazing. Seems like it's a giant land for just one ride, the coaster. Wish there was a kiddy ride like the yoshi ride to eat up crowds and maybe a sit-down restaurant like toad's cafe to chill and take in the scenery. Land and ride looks awesome though. Can't wait.
Yeah, something like Mater’s would be cool and then something like Snow White’s Scary Adventures maybe.

Technically Donkey Kong section is apart of orginal mario/Nintendo world land.
Also landwise the coaster takes up a lot of space like their isn't any land for anything in Japan at least (though at Epic Universe apparently has around a acre of space unused in DK section for possible future expansions). They are adding a meet and greet location, more power up band mini-games and small gift shop/snack stand

I'm visiting in late May and I really hope they stick to their promise of opening in spring. It'd be a huge bummer to miss out on this by a few weeks.

Disney is way too woke and content with making basic uninspired rides. Universal are the big theme park kings. Better service, rides, prices, food, facilities, hotels... I could continue but you get the point.

I feel like I am the only one who DOESNT want it to open. My family is going to Japan early June. We had already booked our trip BEFORE the Fantasy Springs announcement. So to avoid it as best we can, we are literally going the day after we land. Actually, the day of, but just not the parks. What’s the point in going to an overcrowded park where you not only can’t experience the new land, but can’t enjoy anything else due to the crowds? USJ is already pretty busy, and I wasn’t even sure if we could even get into SNW even two years later. But if DK opens, we certainly won’t!
I’m waiting to go to Japan because it has more in it, and I don’t live anywhere near either place. I’ve never been on a roller coaster in my life before, but I CAN NOT miss this. Donkey Kong has made such a large impact on my life, and I really appreciate that they leaned into the Donkey Kong Country Returns theme for the ride, as that is the game I grew up with, and I have a special connection with that game, and it’s villain.

If they are building two theme parks around Donkey Kong, surely a new game must be on the horizon, right? The last new Donkey King game was Tropical Freeze, which came out a decade ago. I hope a new 3D Donkey Kong game comes out next year, and it features 2D throw back levels like Mario Odyssey did. That would be awesome.

Donkey Kong Country was one of only 2 Super Nintendo games I had growing up, I love this land so much, it’s me and my younger sisters childhood fun 🫶🏻 it looks EXACTLY like the game 🤩

According a few Universal Hollywood employees, and they are gaging Super Nintendo World's popularity to make a decision on a slow change to the bottom level, with the first removal being the Mummy.
What I want to know though is if you have to buy the Donkey Kong power up bands to interact with the Donkey Kong Country area. Because I don’t think I would like to have to get another one.

One of the things I love the most about this Donkey Kong land in Japan is that it is opening over one year later than originally expected. This delay is due to the Japanese government’s POWERFUL approach to controlling the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. Thanks to powerful government efforts to flatten the curve all over the world, the novel coronavirus no longer exists and everyone on the planet is now very healthy and disease-free.
I rest easy knowing governments across the globe won’t be afraid to control future cold viruses by shutting down entire economies, even when such actions will lead to rampant inflation. Sorry, but healthy economies aren’t more important than healthy people, and ensuring no one catches a cold anymore is a great way to ensure everyone remains very healthy. The human immune system is simply not adapted for viral exposure; it must be protected at all costs from all germs, something only government can do for us.

Most likely crowding but probably not issues. Majority of people don’t even use the second exit so it’s sort of just normal at this point
This is amazing, seeing things like this makes me want to work hard and make lots of money so I can do something like this someday, I'm not sure about going to Japan cause I don't like flying but just go have a fun vacation somewhere 😀

Yes. It may have slightly more interactive areas, and maybe even an extra meet and greet space, but despite being somewhat larger, Orlando's Super Nintendo World will have the same number of rides as Japan.
Why can't Universal Studios open up a location in Vancouver? I want to ride those!
It would require much of it to be indoors. They were willing to do it for Beijing, to get into that market, but I guess with two Universal locations already in North America (not including the regional one in Texas) I guess they don’t want to invest in Canada yet.

Québec is Canada’s largest providence in regard to size (assuming you’re not including territories). Ontario is Canada’s largest providence in regard to population. I mean, my state alone has almost SIX TIMES the amount of population as BC.
I’m not saying that Vancouver isn’t worthy of a decent theme park. I am just saying that Universal most likely will not consider anywhere in Canada in the foreseeable future.
They expect you guys to fly all the way out to FL for the main resort, or possibly just drive down the pacific coast to visit the original in a day. Now then, if the regional experimental park they’re building in Texas proves a success, they may consider Vancouver then.

I… I just want the Orwellian nightmare to end. I don’t want a screen to tell me when to feel like I’m falling. I get it’s helpful with space but damn stop with the giant screens I do not care for them. I don’t ride Simpson, which is GOING to get changed out very soon, transformers, honestly I just turn away if I find out it’s a simulated ride.

Really disappointing this is not based on the original trilogy, yet “Mine Cart Madness” is the name of a level in the original Donkey Kong Country game. Rool, you know, “Master of the Kremlings", and the other Kremlings are just as iconic as the Kongs…
