Perfectly conveys the whole situation. At first they feel hopeless and quite literally “left for dead” then they realize they’re strength in numbers and if they work together they might have a shot of getting out alive.

I still love how Dead Center plays after The Sacrifice's outro. It's symbolizing that one's current journey ends yet another one starts. Should L4D3 be a real thing in the far future, I really wish we get to see, at least as cameos, the survivors we all know and love.

this theme is really the way because 1) there really is no "mall" kind of music 2) this is the first campaign (technically) in the game, as it each of the characters meets each other for the first time, introducing the characters and the SETTING to the player. since it's set in the south banjoes are pretty damn reasonable
