I was rooting for Team Mathcbox, as i like to collect these more nowadays. But you can always count that Hot Wheels will be fast on track. That was a fun race to watch oeverall. Thanks for the event PTR!

The tournament we’ve all be wanting
Matchbox are getting better and better. Well, when I was a kid, in the '80s and begining of the '90s they were good castings, but after that, MB somehow suffered in quality. Now, their castings are closer to the real vehicles' proportions than HW's casting. As an example, I can state the first model of Dodge Viper. HW's casting is "squished" and made me hate that car, while I just bought a 5 pack of Matchbox with it and even if I haven't opened it yet, it made me stop hating the car.
I think that Mattel's may be trying to make HW carry the "wild" themes with wild paintjobs, custom cars, etc, while they're trying to make Matchbox carry more "down to Earth" reproductions of real cars, with more normal paint jobs, stock bodies and daily life themes.

Sigh here I am acting "like a boomer". The old matchbox cars were works of art. The small doors and sometimes the hatches could open. These new cars not only have less detail but no longer have the interactivity.

There really isn't any difference between the two brands, Matchbox has been bought by the same company that owns Hot Wheels, so it's pure marketing at this point. Gives the illusion of having more choices. It's like that story where it turned out that no matter what brand of sunglasses you bought from what shop, 99% of the market was owned by one parent company.

how come escalade won the showdown? its apparent that they both got to the finish line at the same time! but unfortunately escalade has the advantage of its model, which touched sensor in advance
