    Woo! Just tried this now and it worked !
    Part was around $30 but much cheaper than a mechanic.

    Thanks for the video. The fix was 100% accurate. Please note on 4x4s that you will need to remove the 4x4 Module to get access to the blower. You will also need the force to figure out how to remove the 4x4 Module.

    Nice and easy job. Do you think vehicle equipped with cabin air filters that never get changed cause this condition. Most i've seen are overheated and some melted.

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      STEVE ROB a clogged filter can cause this issue since the airflow is what cools off the resister. this explorer doesn't come with a filter..just plain old part failing I'm assuming.

    Great video, thanks. I'm having the same issue on my 2008 Explorer, hopefully I can fix the problem so I don't have to bring it to the dealerripoff. I also have this issue that you might or not experienced. When I turn the car on, the interior lights come on and stay on, or I might drive over a street bump, or pot hole, and again, the interior lights turn on. This is very annoying, especially driving at night, and I have to turn the vehicle on and off (not driving of course), just to turn it off. Anyway, hope you can help. thanks.

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Check the door switches. When they start to go bad it can cause interior lights to go on n off while hitting bumps during driving

      In your opinion if 1/2/4 work fine but 3 is the same as 2 ( so that means there is no change when I hit the 3 setting). Would it still be this part? I hate using 4 because it is so loud. I wish the 3 setting worked because 2 is too slow.

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Brittany Gumm sounds like it could be the resistor. Replacing it is cheaper than paying a shop to diagnose it. It's either the resistor or the switch to change the speeds.

    I have a 1996 really love it. I don’t get any air, but if I hit a bump while driving I get air magically.
    What can be causing this in and out air flow?

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Check the electrical connector that goes to the blower motor and blower motor resistor. If the plastic looks burned or melted replace the parts. It could also be a bad blower motor

    • @mendez771
      @mendez771 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, for the quick response. I already replaced the motor resistor didn’t replace the connector.
      I did tested the air blower with car battery and it did work, I will try to replace the connector.

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bad blower motor can still work and intermittently stop working until you hit it or hit a bump while driving.
