I think I also heard that the population of Anchorage Alaska goes from like 20k people to 8k in the winter season. I used to work on Alaskan cruises. Basically Vancouver and Victoria are the most beautiful and nice, and the further into Alaska you go, the colder and cloudier it gets. On the plus side, I got to see some glaciers that might not exist any more.
Anchorage has most of the population at like 250k. So the tourist season I’ve never noticed it affecting Anchorage pop. that hard. The Kenai Peninsula on the other hand. We get all clogged up in summer with tourism.
You should check out the population of Chicken in the summer Vs the winter. Anchorage still has a ton of people. We just notice more tourists downtown and on the trails during summer.
Not so fun fact: little planes tend to still use leaded gas. Living near a small plane airport increases the chances of lead poisoning. I believe I once knew more about the effects of planes using leaded on the environment and people below them, but I don't remember any of it.

Anchorage still has a ton of people. We just notice more tourists downtown and on the trails during summer.
Not so fun fact: little planes tend to still use leaded gas. Living near a small plane airport increases the chances of lead poisoning. I believe I once knew more about the effects of planes using leaded on the environment and people below them, but I don't remember any of it.
