Thanks Claire! An excellent christmas haul. Enjoying your content since I found you in the summertime. So nice to know I'm not alone with my 2 fussy children and you give me so much inspiration for food ideas for them! I've always felt a bad mum for just making do with the same repetative meals all the time that they will eat and not kick back on. Your down to earth approach to the situation and your excellent suggestions for the children really helps me with new ideas that I have been trying to mix in with stuff they like Eg. The sausage rolls with something or soup with something. If that makes sense! I'm very grateful for your help! Have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy new year and I'll look forward to more of your excellent content when you return 🎉🎄🎆
Please don’t take offence to this comment! Please do research on rapeseed oil. That’s all I ask. It’s low in saturated fats, high in unsaturated fats, high in omega 3 & 6 (which many oils lack) - in fact it has a perfect ratio of 1:2 for both, which experts say is perfect; it’s also high in vitamin E (some of this is actually better than olive oil!) Here is a bit from the NHS website; Monounsaturated fats help protect your heart by maintaining levels of "good" HDL cholesterol while reducing levels of "bad" LDL cholesterol in your blood. Monounsaturated fats are found in: olive oil, rapeseed oil and spreads made from these oils. Essentially it’s been proven to reduce cholesterol. Please, all information can be found on the NHS & BBC Good Food website. One article came out about rapeseed oil regarding eurcic acid (this is due to the increase in rapeseed / sunflower oil in products since the war in Ukraine). It clearly states on the Uk food government website, the risk to health is negligible - it’s nil & void! It genuinely frightens me that so many are being scaremongered by misinformation. I can’t have olive oil (I’m oddly allergic to it!) - I had to do thorough research years ago on what oils I could cook to a high heat (which you can’t with olive oil), that would be healthy & safe to consume - cold pressed rapeseed oil came out on top every time. I have never used anything different, & feel so much better using it over your average Joe sunflower oil. I don’t mean offence by this comment hun. I just get so concerned when people hear of something without fully researching as it has such a dominoes effect online, & people get so frightened when purchasing shopping in an already difficult time with money being tight. A bottle of cold pressed rapeseed oil is around £3-£3.50, a bottle of olive oil is £7+! Sorry for rambling but I do hope some of this was helpful & put your mind at rest! Merry Christmas to you & your lovely family xx 💗
Merry Christmas Claire and family! I did a big shop on sunday 22nd then fruit and veg shop on 23rd. So much food the fridge is packed like tetris! Wow, raspberries are so cheap there.. 1 pound 49 which is equivalent to $3aud which is the cheapest they get here in summer when in season... in winter they can be around $8+ for the same size! Porridge is so good in winter! Tell Zack that my 13 yr old boy loves porridge, he puts brown sugar on top. I just googled rapeseed oil and only saw positive points about it?!
Hi Claire like a couple of others have said.. grapeseed appears to be ok. I read about vegetable oil mainly palm oil definitely avoid that..there were numerous studies and it can cause metastatic cancer..i avoid at all costs. I stick to olive oil and rice bran oil. Hope you had a great Christmas 🎄🎁
Great wee haul honeybee. U r so lucky the kids will eat non branded choclate thats the one thing my lot would simply not compromise on the eldest only eats galaxy middle and youngest only do lindt or at a push cadbury . I know they take this after me so enough said . I even have to use the good stuff in baking lol. Kid peer pressure is real once mine went to big school so be prepared for yet another hike of an increase in the food bill. I wonder what it will be like this time next year the situation needs addressed but when or by whom remains to be seen px
Viewer from Australia, I bought one tub of Quality Street half price on sale $18. My favourite is the green triangle and there weren’t any in the whole tub. I thought the quality of the chocolate was awful and ended up throwing them away.
Hi lovely 🌹 is that a naughty elf I can see hanging from the cupboard 😂 those elfs get everywhere 😂 merry Christmas Claire to you and your family 🎄😊🥳🎉❤️❤️
We're visiting family tomorrow on Christmas Day. I've decided not to do a Christmas present video this year because we had the gifts stored in the loft where I don't go 😂. I might do one after they've opened them, but I'm not sure, to be honest. Happy Christmas 🎄 xx
I have been following you for ages and i never knew you were a pagen. Why i wonder did i never know this. Are your immediate family following your religion. I cant deny that i am so shocked. Does Gareth agree with you. I am sorry but i had no idea
