That is pretty neat, I have never seen a gas powered dozer before, except those with the pony motors. One more thing that much either could bend a rod, just a suggestion. Great Video!
If you're sure about the year of manufacture, then you probably have a 420, not a 450. The 420 came out in 1959 and the 450 came out in 1965. Great little machines and I sure enjoy running mine when I can. Enjoy!
I must be honest. This is the only dozer I have ever driven and the only one I have worked on. The case dealer seamed to have the ability to get whatever I needed. There are two kinds of case dealers. Farm dealers and heavy equipment dealers. You need to find the heavy equipment dealer for dozer parts.
@greyfox247 Thanks I've been pretty sick this winter and thus I had little time for the video hobby. The homestead has been plugin' along pretty good. We have a website now if you want to check it out you can. keeperofthemountain
.Your suppose to spray starting fluid while you crank the engine not before, also you should crank the engine a few revolutions before you spray that, "kill you engine crap".
Man why do you use this stuff? For you're safety get on the machine, press in the clutch to help the engine turn over, and not run you over as well. Choke it and it will start without starting fluid, Plus you should only spray that stuff while the engine is turning over.
+Joseph M Yeah, starting fluid is like taking steroids,..sooner or later you're going to regret doing that . You're correct too Joe, starting fluid s supposed to be sprayed WHILE the engine is being cranked, it's the vapor that helps it start not the liquid. Didn't you notice all the vapor blowing back out the breather pipe, and then you waited untill all the ether evaporated before cranking it ? I don't know why folks do that !
Reg Sparkes : You know the truth and appears you have used this stuff in the past, the proper way.. Many engines have been ruined by doing what this guy in the video does. Thanks for your reply..
had one just like her.. mine was a 1958 model.. I was amazed I could still get parts for it.. have fun
Nice old dozer case built good equipment

@skiddy8619 Yea Thanks, we rebuilt the cab and now it starts all on it's own.
My brother translated your question. I am using either. Also known as starting fluid.
Long time no see! Awesome Video, We love the Cold Start vids, How is the Homestead?
Not really sure about anything. I sent pics to the local Case dealer and this info is their best guess.
Smokes less than some of these new electronic engines
