My parents took a trip to Branson once, and they had tickets to Andy's show at the Moon River Theater. They got there early, so they were walking around outside the theater, and they ran into Andy. He talked to them for a while, then invited them to dinner after the show. My parents enjoyed that very much. They recieved a Christmas card from him every year for quite some time. Not only a great performer, but a great.person. RIP Andy.
@@AntonioBarsaniomy mom & dad met him on the golf course in Branson, when they were playing behind his group. Mom got his autograph, and talked for years afterward about how gracious he was. My kids (1 millennial and 1 gen-X) were both devastated when he died, because his Christmas CDs were such a big part of their growing-up years.
What a sweet video. The singing is superb. Marie is so adorable and so comfortable with Andy. He must be a wonderful man when you see how tender he is with Marie.
RIP Andy... gone to a better place.. with all those gone before you ..you will live on in your gift of songs..your job was completed here now you begin your new journey to your eternal home amen..
Oh my Marie was adorable so little in Andy's lap, she looks about 3 yrs old. Those boys had such pure, tight barbur shop harmonies. My sister used to have such a crush on Andy Williams, lol. He is a handsome crooner ;-)
This is talent, this type of singing from youngsters, does not exist anymore, or if it does, we don't see in todays youth. They were perfectionist then! The Osmonds were talented!
I'm proud to say that I loved this show. I loved Andy Williams, and I loved the Osmonds, all of whom could and still can sing. I'm also proud to say that when I was thirteen years old, I saved up my babysitting money to buy my own ticket to see Andy Williams perform, sewed a floor length formal gown to wear to his concert, and actually met him, and that later, while living and working in Hollywood, got to watch him record an album. Very happy memories!
Andy Williams and the Osmonds earned your respect enough to do such a wonderful thing saving your baby sitting money and sewing a full length gown...how wonderful.I still feel that love and respect for them, even though Andy has passed.Just Wonderful
Oh MY GOODNESS!! I loved Andy Williams also! I saw him in concert in Minneapolis and I can still feel the visceral effect his soaring voice had in that cavernous venue. I ALWAYS watched his show but I must admit to some envy of your experiences! Still have a crush on him today, those memories are so precious to me. Thank you for sharing yours 😊
Wow! Those young Osmond brothers were quite talented! How cute! What can I say about Andy and that velvety soft voice? I just love him. Thanks for sharing!
The Andy Williams Show was the best! The Williams' Brothers were wonderful together. I especially love the Christmas shows. The Osmond Brother's are adorable too!
What a wonderful look into the past! I love the harmonies between Andy and the 4 Osmond brothers. I think it's so precious the way Andy brushes the stray hair away from Marie's face. What a sweet video!
Marie Osmond Age 3, September 13, 1959 - In Memory of my childhood day's , very blessed uplifting music ! One of the greatest Legndcay Andy Williams Rest in peace Dear Sir ! This video was in 1964 ! Thank you for sharing this song with us ! Very blessed 🌹 Date 6/29/2018 🌹
It’s so sweet to see Marie dancing for the first time on the Andy Williams Show. It was great that they took the time to put Donny, Marie, and Jimmy on the show. To let them continue to grow and get all of the talent they have, it’s great. RIP Andy. You were one of the greats!! 🙂🙂🙂
Just a few days after these fellows from Liverpool appeared on another network and made history. It's funny how I was not yet born until December of that year, and yet this gives me a sense of watching variety programs with my parents on our floor model TV in the earliest days of my childhood memories.
he's the best I love Andy and his music beautiful voice and all so sweet with the Osmond s miss you Andy if you hear me in heaven Love you and your music Sandy
Incredible talent art such a young age.....brilliant. What a sad world we live in now.....very few people in the limelight can sing like this. However, I know the talent is out there for sure.
........ I love the Osmonds because they have always loved each other. That is the best example of a role model family you can find in show business. I'm proud of them as an American.
oh yes now i know that this beauty little girl is Marie Osmond. Andy Williams is one of the most greatest star of all the times. Thanks a lot again. Please post more Andy Williams´s or Osmonds´s videos.
Just for the sake of context - 1964 is the year the "British Invasion" began. The Beatles played 2 concerts in Las Vegas. (My friend was desperate to go, but no one we knew had parents who would allow it or could afford it.) If you contrast Andy Williams' crooning style, which is similar to that of Sinatra, Crosby, Como, Martin, etc., and the delicate, true harmony of Barbershop and Swing quartets (e.g. the Mills Bros., the Ames Brothers) with the British bands, you may better understand why so many of our parents hated the new music and clung to the old.
About 13, 11, 9 and 7.. holy crap! Most mainstream adult artist can’t come close to this if they tried! They lack the talent, ability and most importantly the skill to HEAR these tight harmonies. My favorite part is Andy at the end...on the boys’ last “Lida Rose”, he glances up and smiles. You can tell he’s just listening to the brothers.
Annmarie1697 is quite correct, I believe. And that is the order in this video...left to right is Alan, Wayne, Andy (of course) Merrill and Jay. This is vintage greatness!
you can find it (if you can find the dvd - it's out of print, but not impossible to find on ebay or amazon market sellers) on andy williams FIRST volume of his show. NOT the two for sale at the moment.
Marie did indeed dance with Andy Williams on her 18th birthday, as promised. It happened when she was on The Donny & Marie Show in the late 70s. (Couldn't find it on YT - sorry.)
I remember watching this live. This is pre Donny and Marie. Thats Little tiny Marie with Andy. Great song from a great Movie. The score from the Movie was sung by Sherlie Jones and the harmony barbershop quartet was the Buffalo Bills who also starred throughout the movie. Buy got little recognition in the credits. At that time, Barbershop Quartet and Chorus singing was quite popular in my house. My mom was a charter member of a womens barbershop chorus from No. Attleboro Massachusetts named the "Harmonettes", and were part of "Harmony Incorporated", a womens International Barbershop Competing Group. They competed and won a few International Championships in their hayday! I believe the "Buffalo Bills" were International Mens Barbershop Quartet Champions at one time. The mens organization was or is the "S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.I.A." THE SOCIETY for the PRESERVATION of BARBERSHOP QUARTETS SINGING IN AMERICA.
The Osmonds had such wonderful and loving parents who taught them that fame wasn't everything and to believe in the simple things of life... unlike the Jacksons, who's father beat them and never instilled anything in their lives but heartache and terror.
The Osmond father was strict, and had high standards for his sons. He taught them a strong work ethic, which they seem to have appreciated rather than resented.
LoVe it so much just that I never appreciated this when I was young listening to mum playing it on her record player lol.. not until I saw the video of it.. :)
If you're looking for the definition of "Americana", this is it. Cute kids who can do something as well as the most gifted adults, Barbershop chords, color television, a good helping of perfection with just a pinch of schmaltz. This is what normal was before "The Sixties". As the world became smaller we, oddly, only became more selfish. Someone famously called it "future shock": the sense that the world is changing too fast for any one person to keep up with it. I call it rot.
I was just watching the other vid with Andy and the brothers, trying to identify them and picking out Donny, for example, but I've just realised Donny was (like me !) barely out of the pram at this time, as he's a year or two younger than Marie ! Great clip ! What a talented family !
What a gem this is. Thanks for sharing this part of music history! The Osmonds are doing a reunion soon, by the way. I can't wait for it. George Vreeland Hill
Just look at the way Andy smoothes Maries hair from her eyes, and Marie attempting to sing along with the brothers, this video is pure magic, Marie is so comfotable sitting with Andy Williams. Mr. Williams at the peak of his singing prowess and the Osmonds at the start of their awesome careers. This is something to be treasured forever :)
How talented are The Osmonds, i love them, how beautiful voices and song. Thanks a lot for share it with us. Brings to my mind a lot of wonderful memories. I think that Donnie was too young to share the stage with his brothers. Anybody knew how is the little sweet girl????
Hi, Just to let you know. Donny's first appearance on the Andy Williams show was on December 10, 1963. So he was on before her, but just by a couple of months. I read that he was worried about her because she had to walk on the stage by herself. Always the protective older brother.
Little marie was so irritated with the sweat that she almost had her tantrums but obviously somebody instructing her to smile...thats good ,so young yet professional. They're all cute esp. allan
To the people who put Marie was obviously was five even though she said she was 3 (since it was 1964) clearly you can't read a screen capture-it was Feb. 1964 so she was just a few months past 4 and that long ago you could see how she could remember it not perfectly clear but to say she was completely off is a stretch.
This is now one of my favorite videos on the internet.
My parents took a trip to Branson once, and they had tickets to Andy's show at the Moon River Theater. They got there early, so they were walking around outside the theater, and they ran into Andy. Not only a great performer, but a great.person. RIP Andy.
I am so sorry I did not realize Andy hd passed. I am too old.
Wow! Meeting the MAN himself, what an extraordinary experience ! For me it would be like meeting Krishna!

Omg!! I love that song!! The first time I heard that song sung was by the Lennon sisters!! One of my favorites!❤️
Well done! I always loved the voice of Andy Williams.
I think Andy Williams ought to be a guest star on DWTS! And DANCE WITH MARIE!!!! Wouldn't that be like, nostalgic?
What a sweet video. The singing is superb. Marie is so adorable and so comfortable with Andy. He must be a wonderful man when you see how tender he is with Marie.
They were so adorable. And polite. What a difference a few decades can make.
Beautiful little girl💖 love Marie's voice they all had that sweet sounding voice

Oh my Marie was adorable so little in Andy's lap, she looks about 3 yrs old.

I love how she hugs Andy, it's so adorable
“Yes, sir” (at end) is how they tried to teach us-then. Parents looked forward to the Andy Williams show.
I love this rendition and look at the baby Osmonds❤️
Oh my gosh! They are without doubt the cutest, sweetest, most talented bunch of kids ever or ever will be!
This video is so endearing. Imagine Marie’s first time on stage singing and dancing with Andy Williams no less. What a introduction to show business.
Sure miss Andy and his shows .Glad TH-cam keeps his memory alive here .
This was Marie's very first TV appearance. She was such a cute baby and Andy Williams was so fatherly. Today, the Osmonds run a museum in his memory.
This is talent, this type of singing from youngsters, does not exist anymore, or if it does, we don't see in todays youth. They were perfectionist then! The Osmonds were talented!
