I don't believe that it was a matter of rage. I believe he had planned it from the beginning. If he had only just killed his wife, then it may be more believable that he just snapped. But to drive 45 minutes with his dead wife and 2 little kids and then kill the kids and bury them like he did. That took some major planning. When he finally admitted to killing his wife he actually spent ages saying that he only killed her in anger after seeing that she had smothered their children: "I did NOT kill my babies". Until he did. What I will say is that having just watched the Netflix documentary about all of this 'American murder next door', Shanann does talk about being the dominant one in the relationship. And, she does message a friend saying that she never considered how her treatment of him might have made him feel less of a man. Absolutely doesn't excuse murder, of course. He is an adult and could have chosen to 'use his words' instead.

He behaved in a way that made the women feel, they had to protect him and do everything. He played the victim and manipulated his partners. Shannan protected him from his parents who were quit harsh with him when he still lived there and nicole felt, as if she had to save him from his cruel wife. Besides, there is nothing wrong about the women being more dominant than the men as long as both are happy with it. He doesn't want to have the responsibility for anything, if shannan hadn't taken it upon herself to organise, she would have gotten nothing done. And this behaviour was not normal for her. She wasn't the dominant type. He's a full on narcissist and he manipulated her into this role. That's a big part of marriage. Otherwise why not just continue dating? I believe that he killed the kids before he left the house that morning. The bedding on both of the kids bed's were gone just like Shananns. I think he wrapped each one of them up after killing them... Just like he did to her. This was planned out before hand. Chris even called the crew the day before and told them not to show up at the work site because he said there was no need he'd take care of everything. He didn't want anyone there because he planned to dispose of the bodies. This guy is telling some truths but a lot of lies also!

If I recall, she said he saved her from a sad life. If he felt 2 feet tall it was likely related to his own perceptions about himself, and most likely some very dark thoughts that led up to the end. I hope someone gets to him and hands him the same sentence he handed his family.

I'm sure the interviewers didn't trust every answer he gave. But it's more likely he was somewhat honest in this interview because he has nothing to hide anymore. Before he had to lie about everything to everyone bc his future was at stake. Everyone knows what he did now and is facing the consequences, therefore there's really no reason for him to lie other than downplay or exaggerate some aspects to make himself look better.
To be fair he's also one of the worst liars I can think of. They (the cops, neighbour, her friend) were onto him within literally minutes of talking to him in that video.

He said he killed his daughters in the back seat of his truck. So it WAS his daughters we saw (the shadows) on the video tape the morning he loaded his truck with Shananns body. So sad.... at least we all know the truth now. 🙏

Has no remorse. It is as if he got rid of some old furniture. I was married to a guy like this. He too was planning my murder when we decided to divorce. He bought a gun and gave it to our neighbors to hold as a “gift” they were frightened so they came to tell me ai was in danger. I told him if I ended up dead my parents and neighbors were told of the situation and they would go to the police. That was enough to stop him. He even didn’t deny his plans when confronted. After I got away from him I live in fear for years he would show up and kill me. One time I was at a car wash and saw a man slowly drive past the wash and stared at me as he drove by. It looked like him and I was so panicked I speak home and had panic attacks. He remarried and beat his second wife several time and went to jail. I called prosecutors and begged them to jail him. They never would they would let him go. He is a loaded gun.

It's entirely possible that a deranged, inhuman murderer could have a high IQ. That said, Chris Watts does not strike me as a high-IQ individual by any measure. Nothing about his actions was careful or methodical, a minimum of planning went into it, and he made several inexplicable moves (such as doing a news interview the next day) that only sped up his arrest.
This guy is as dumb as a box of rocks. He took the polygraph thinking he could beat it. He called his daughters school the morning of the murders and told them they wouldn't be going there anymore. He also called a realtor that morning to get the process of selling his house going......that is not a smart man!
Literally listening to him complain about getting treated badly by other inmates in Colorado.....boo hoo. His wife and children are actually deceased by his own hand. He deserves to be threatened and recieve no protection from guards.
I don't think he did it. I don't think he killed anyone. This interview was not an interview. This was an interrogation. This interrogation happened well after he wasn't sentenced to life without parole. These people don't do anything without a good reason. Everything they do is done to get information. They spent almost 5 hours with him. That wasn't an accident. I don't think we've heard the true story yet. I think he is still lying about what really happened. He can't keep his story straight. One time he says both kids were dead before the truck, then he says he killed one in the house, then only minutes later he says they were both comforting each other inside the truck. Also, Tammy asks the question about why Shannan still had on a bra after going to bed twice and after sex. Also, he only expresses remorse for being there - he doesn't express remorse for what he claims to have did. He only expresses disbelief. But he DOES express remorse for being there. And literally nothing about his psychological profile indicates any psychopathic ability whatsoever.

I don’t care if she was the most bridezilla, spiteful, ball chopping Karen in existence, she didn’t deserve any of this and none of his actions can be justified using that as a motive.

I don't believe that it was a matter of rage. I believe he had planned it from the beginning. If he had only just killed his wife, then it may be more believable that he just snapped. But to drive 45 minutes with his dead wife and 2 little kids and then kill the kids and bury them like he did. That took some major planning. It shows that he had no love, no feeling, and he definitely has no remorse for what he has done. The only thing that he is upset about is that he got caught. Fortunately, he will be behind bars for the rest of his life because he is dangerous out in society.

What I will say is that having just watched the Netflix documentary about all of this 'American murder next door', Shanann does talk about being the dominant one in the relationship. And, she does message a friend saying that she never considered how her treatment of him might have made him feel less of a man. Absolutely doesn't excuse murder, of course. He is an adult and could have chosen to 'use his words' instead.

He behaved in a way that made the women feel, they had to protect him and do everything. He played the victim and manipulated his partners. Shannan protected him from his parents who were quit harsh with him when he still lived there and nicole felt, as if she had to save him from his cruel wife. Besides, there is nothing wrong about the women being more dominant than the men as long as both are happy with it. He doesn't want to have the responsibility for anything, if shannan hadn't taken it upon herself to organise, she would have gotten nothing done. And this behaviour was not normal for her. She wasn't the dominant type. He's a full on narcissist and he manipulated her into this role. Believe me, someone who is capable of slaughtering his family, is capable of putting a foot down if he likes. He didn't snap, because he couldn't bare their dynamic but because he didn't got enough supplie from her. Manipulating and triggering Nicole into the exact same patterns as shannan proofs this.

That's a big part of marriage. Otherwise why not just continue dating? So, staying with her spouse, and the father of her children, attempting to talk about their problems, giving him that couples therapy book etc... Those were all valid and sensible steps for someone who takes their wedding vows seriously.

Chris even called the crew the day before and told them not to show up at the work site because he said there was no need he'd take care of everything. If I recall, she said he saved her from a sad life. If he felt 2 feet tall it was likely related to his own perceptions about himself, and most likely some very dark thoughts that led up to the end. I hope someone gets to him and hands him the same sentence he handed his family.

I'm sure the interviewers didn't trust every answer he gave. But it's more likely he was somewhat honest in this interview because he has nothing to hide anymore. Before he had to lie about everything to everyone bc his future was at stake. Everyone knows what he did now and is facing the consequences, therefore there's really no reason for him to lie other than downplay or exaggerate some aspects to make himself look better.
To be fair he's also one of the worst liars I can think of. They (the cops, neighbour, her friend) were onto him within literally minutes of talking to him in that video.

He said he killed his daughters in the back seat of his truck. So it WAS his daughters we saw (the shadows) on the video tape the morning he loaded his truck with Shananns body. So sad.... at least we all know the truth now. 🙏

Has no remorse. It is as if he got rid of some old furniture. I was married to a guy like this. He too was planning my murder when we decided to divorce. He bought a gun and gave it to our neighbors to hold as a “gift” they were frightened so they came to tell me ai was in danger. I told him if I ended up dead my parents and neighbors were told of the situation and they would go to the police. That was enough to stop him. He even didn’t deny his plans when confronted. After I got away from him I live in fear for years he would show up and kill me. One time I was at a car wash and saw a man slowly drive past the wash and stared at me as he drove by. It looked like him and I was so panicked I speak home and had panic attacks. He remarried and beat his second wife several time and went to jail. I called prosecutors and begged them to jail him. They never would they would let him go. He is a loaded gun.

I don't think he did it. I don't think he killed anyone. This interview was not an interview. This was an interrogation. This interrogation happened well after he wasn't sentenced to life without parole. These people don't do anything without a good reason. Everything they do is done to get information. They spent almost 5 hours with him. That wasn't an accident. I don't think we've heard the true story yet. I think he is still lying about what really happened. He can't keep his story straight. One time he says both kids were dead before the truck, then he says he killed one in the house, then only minutes later he says they were both comforting each other inside the truck. Also, Tammy asks the question about why Shannan still had on a bra after going to bed twice and after sex. Also, he only expresses remorse for being there - he doesn't express remorse for what he claims to have did. He only expresses disbelief. But he DOES express remorse for being there. And literally nothing about his psychological profile indicates any psychopathic ability whatsoever.
