Quel est votre parcours avec le français ? Ou une autre langue étrangère ?
I "kind of" started "learning" French _about_ a Year (kind of) ago or so. I listened to many Videos in French and read a little French/German Dictonary for People that want to travel to France and at a certain Point in Time I started to understand the People that I listened to, even - for most of the Time - without the Need for Subtitels. But I can _only_ understand French... Not speak or writing it.. Honestly I do not even know why I actually _can_ understand it... just from, basicallly _just_ watching Videos in French... :D
Je n'ai aucune formation en français, je suis juste curieux d'apprendre.
C'est la troisième langue après l'arabe et le Amazigh kabyle ma langue maternelle

Im English and I think your English was 'tres bon' please don't loose your French accent, its charming and adds musicality to English. I have been teaching myself French for 1 year, the fog of understanding is clearing but I am a long way from speaking. Im concentrating on listening and reading, getting as much comprehensible input as possible. as an old saying says 'Slowly slowly catchy monkey'

Bravo 👏🏻 votre anglais est excellent 👏🏻🇺🇲🇲🇫. Je serai ravi de pratiquer l'anglais avec vous. Je suis américain mais d'origine italienne (une langue que j'apprends actuellement). J'ai déjà travaillé en tant qu'assistant d'anglais en France et en tant que prof de français de base aux States (et en tant que prof d'anglais langue étrangère également) pour les collégiens lycéens et pour la communauté haïtienne ici dans le New Jersey. Il y a pas mal de décalage horaire - vous êtes 6 heures en avance, mais ça me plaira de faire un échange avec vous. J'ai plein de ressources et j'enseigne en ligne à temps partiel donc j'ai le temps à consacrer à un échange. J'aime bien ce que vous faites et je recommande souvent votre chaîne à mes élèves. Ça sera super sympa d'instaurer contact avec vous 🇺🇲🇲🇫 Ah, l'anglais est ma langue maternelle. Je trouve que l'italien est plus difficile que le français par contre 🇮🇹😢 mais je fais des progrès. Few french people speak with no french accent, and you do it clean!
I always say to myself: I do my best when I speak foreign languages taking care of every tiny aspect of it (accent included) otherwise, it could consider an insult to native speakers.

It’s frustrating when you can’t really make the perfect sounds even when you try to work a lot on the articulation 🫠
Your English is fine, don't worry about it. I learnt English from the age of 10 until 18 at school, but I have never really studied it. Most of the English i know from watching English movies with Dutch subtitles. I am still far from perfect (even after 20+ years) and I also have a slight Dutch accent, but I am OK with it. I don't like the English language and for me it's nothing more than a tool to communicate. I have no desire to improve my accent or to polish my grammar skills. And because I see English as merely a tool, I couldn't care less about making mistakes.
Changing your view towards the English language might make it easier for you to not care about the little mistakes your making. Accept the level your at, be proud of what you have achieved and start doing things you enjoy in English. The improvements will follow soon...

J'ai suivi un cours de français à l'université il y a longtemps, car il est nécessaire d'étudier une langue en plus de l'anglais. En décembre dernier, j'ai voyagé à Paris pendant une semaine et j'ai pu me débrouiller avec le français grâce aux cours de français sur TH-cam🥖

❤This was my favorite of your podcasts/videos of all time. Because you show the humanity in language learning. To learn a language is to make yourself vulnerable, to be willing to speak imperfectly for the sake of communicating ideas and feelings and to find common ground. J'aime me debrouiller dans une autre langue avec l'objective de communiquer avec quelqu'un de l'autre bout de monde. On doit se rendre compte que le but de parler une autre langue n'est pas d'etre parfaite mais plutot de se communiquer des Idées et sentiments. And by the way, I was not surprised at all when I heard you speaking english perfectly. You could easily be someone who lives in the US but I would think that you moved from somewhere in Europe when you were really little. Btw, my 2nd favorite podcast was the one about mbti and I am also a prouf infj.

Your pronunciation is very clear and you seem to have a strong grasp on the vocabulary! I think that sometimes we focus too much on not having a recognizable foreign accent (I know I did) instead of focusing on just communicating. Since I moved to France, I've been trying to approach french language with that mindset and not really about sounding like a native. Having an accent means you probably have an interesting story to tell😁
Your English (and your accent in particular) is excellent. I would not have been able to say with any certainty that you were French, because your accent is very light and not at all "French". Bravo!

Quand j'étais au collège, on a fait un voyage d'entraînement avec la classe aux États-Unis mais tout le monde parlait espagnol 😅 (je viens du Mexique)

J'ai aimé cette vidéo. Tu te exprimes de manière naturelle, et pour nous, les apprenants de français, ca c'est très important. Pourtant, j''ai compris presque tout ce que tu a dit, je ne sais pas si tu as fait quelques modifications dans ton manière de parler, ou c'est le super micro que tu utilise, mais je suis très contente d'avoir profité de ton podcast. J'arrive un peu en retard pour cette vidéo, car je n'ai découvert ta chaîne que récemment, mais j’ai trouvé ce sujet très intéressant venant d’une professeure de français. J'ai dû rire quand tu as dit que tu utilisais parfois le traducteur, même si tu connais déjà le mot ou la phrase en anglais... je fais la même chose avec mon français ! 😅 J'ai appris une autre phrase utile : "...prendre toujours le dessus". La moitié du lexique anglais, notamment les termes académiques et les noms propres, provient du français depuis la conquête normande en 1066 qui a duré 300 ans. L’apprentissage de l’anglais nécessite surtout la mémorisation des verbes, hérités de l’ancien allemand.

You are like a lot of Europeans who have been taught English from a young age but don't think of themselves as having excellent abilities with English even though they do! I am an American who works with a lot of foreigners (Indian, Arab) who are not excellent at English because they weren't taught very well, and don't really care about their poor pronunciation and grammar.
You are clearly excellent at English - you may just need some experiences to boost your confidence? Having difficulty understanding UK British accents is not surprising, I can't understand half of what they say either!
Last point is that you are mistaken in thinking the way a lot of french people speak English is bad - what you think is a mistake, we actually think sounds cool! Us Americans are jealous of most European people, so please don't feel embarrassed!
Ton anglais est bon. Quand je t' écoutais, il m'était très difficile de reconnaître que tu etais français. Tu n'as pas d'accent français :). Ne t'inquiétes pas de ce que les autres pensent de ton anglais.
