Rey’s and Sylvie’s death were the most heart wrenching. By the way, it’s funny how you didn’t mention the fact that mostly elf’s die in this novel. Think about all the elf’s who died during the war and compare them to the humans and dwarfs. It’s basically a famous TBATE meme.😅

Tbh Rey death it the hardest. Alice and Rey were ready to reconcile with Arthur after the battle. They were ready to accept the reality. From their point of view they did a horrible thing to Arthur and wanted to apologize, but Reynolds never had the chance. Alice and Rey truly loved Arthur and that's why they had a hard time accepting that their son could not be their son, but they also realized everything from Art birth to that moment was real, Arthur was their son. But Rey dying without having the chance to meet Arthur, dying with the regret his son might resent him for all the things he said back then even tho he know Arthur sees them as family Truly one of the saddest event in the series
Cynthia's death was a way to show the power of the vitra at a point in the story where there power wasnt clear yet. It showed that no one was safe if they betrayed them and showed the power of the opposition that could Assassinate ANY ONE any where. SPOILER : At the point we are now in the novel we can really understand all of those detail with the explaination about the slow betrayal of the vitra against agrona and there disappearence.
If I’m not mistaken Alea got even less screen time in the novel. The webcomic was the one that added all of that interaction with Arthur in Xyrus. But I do agree that she could’ve died in a different matter not one so sudden. I think the point of Cynthias death was just to provee that it didn’t matter where they hid. If Agrona wanted them all dead nothing would stop him, no place in Dicathen would be safe from him.
In the novel the only scene she really got was the lances being shown off to the public then her death. Lol. Her having more scenes in the comic (even if its just the one) is definitely a big point in its favor
Video on Regis and his purpose and relationship with arthur in volume 8 would be 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Or a video on about volume 8 in general and how events are characters run both parallel and perpendicular to events and characters from vol 1-7 and how it ties into fate.

I believe Cynthia's death had a point, similar to Alea's death but not exactly the same. Her death was to prove that the powers from alacrya are unknown, and capable of killing someone even in the most secure place in dicathen. Lucas' death made sense was deserved and enjoyable. And for me, Lucas acting the way he did made a lot for sense. He was a spoiled brat, with people expecting a lot from him, and him failing to deliver over and over again.. Alea's death made it simple that the chance of Dicathen winning the war were slim to none. Rey's death was a reminder that in that war and in that story nobody was actually safe. That death had more impact since Rey and Arthur never really got to reconcile.. It is sad to think about but, I have no regrets with how the story progressed. There is one death in the series, i disagree with. And that is Aldir's death. Although we never really saw him dying... So who knows.

As far as deaths go, Arthur's dad had the saddest death. Sylvie's pov broke me. Every death in TBATE is done excellently imo. Even some happy moments can be sad, in a good way (when arthur returned, arthur's parents accept him after he reveals his secret, the oatmeal chapter where she was trying to be a mother to him).
that oatmeal chapter was very very very needed i feel. it helped bring the story to a good halt and reset all the craziness that had been going on. wont say i cried. but you know lol
@@NovaLance Very well put! With all the insane fights and stuff going on, things needed to settle down a bit. That chapter made the change feel more natural. The timing just felt right. There's other moments like that later in the story but I don't wanna spoil you if you havent read that far (i myself am not caught up).

They took a break for season 6 and during that time stuff happened where the artist (fuyuki) and his team ended up leaving. So now they have to find a new team for art. They're hoping to return before 2024 but it'll be slightly different art wise. There is still the Novel if you wish to read ahead of where the comic is. Comic current is at the end of vol 5, so I recommend picking up at the start of vol 6 if you want to read it.
