@lesleyritchie5085 what I have found works the best are certain pencils, like prismacolor premier pencils, th Colleen's do well. Acrylic paint pens. Some of these books don't like water mediums, so I use my distress inks, and gel sticks. And others like from Japan do great with watercolor pencils. The best is to test in the back on a page that doesn't matter. To really get a feel for the paper.

Jamie, you mentioned coffe staining. i have a couple of asian books that i have done that , The books by Darion Song. I wanted to not have to color all the building in detail. .i really dont know how to properly do this method. Could you explain it?
