Tonight we unlock a quick tower (one I missed!) - Then we head off in the ever buff International Fleetstar. This truck really is a performer. We clean up a rock slide and fix 2 bridges.

My grandfather has done off-road trucking and I assure you the trucks that go up mountains like that have very powerful engines. And they usually take chained wheels or spades down the mountain at gear 1. I have only seen once a truck slide uncontrollably resulting in expensive damage but no one was hurt. In an off-road trucking experience it is most likely to have more than 1 person operating the vehicle for safety measures and efficiency aswell.
Checking this out after release on Switch. Three episodes in and I am sold, great job.

Only just found this series and to answer your questions about taking a truck in terrain like that I live in Zambia and we take 40T tippers where there is no roads to the mines here... Love the videos keep up the good work!

TIP: If you tip the trailer over it will unpack the cargo. You can then load it onto a new trailer with your crane.

Press up on directional buttons to hide crane menu, whatever the functions button is on pc
flick the L1 to go through the gears faster will put appropriate gear on
If you watch That Joke of a show "Ice Road Truckers" You'd be surprised of some of the Goat trails big trucks can manage, good luck trying to turn around it's fascinating what some trucks can do

You could bring the scout fuel trailer to your destination and fill up when you get there. There is also 2 flat bed trailers for the scout too if you didn't know. You could almost run the entire map with just a scout and it's trailers might take longer though. Just drive up to the trailer buy/sell with your Chevy to see them.
I never had those barriers, new bug with the update?
There is a (hide hud) option in settings maybe that will get rid of the crane control display? I haven't tried the crane yet to confirm this.
The barriers were leftover from the tutorial that I skipped - FIND THE GARAGE was the key to remove them. Once you have the big mud tires, the scout trailer gets better.
I would always check the upgrades, because some upgrades appear new if you level up. I checked all vehicles in Alaska and many of their upgrades you have to unlock by finding them on the map (to unlock every upgrade that can be found on the map you need to find like 15(?) Upgrades on the map, but there are only 4 or 5 spots where upgrades appear and some Upgrades appear only if you have a specific level). I would check these positions to see if there are new upgrades (better safe than sorry xD).
Yes - I am doing heavy searching now - found a LOT of stuff.

I would take any scania 6x6 with diff-lock anywhere. Even with a 9.0L 5cyl. 360hp. But a 13L 6cyl 450hp will be good for anything. And for the bigger stuff, the 16.4L V8 730hp.
The big engines seem to suck too much gas - I am finding that a snowrunner gear box with a small motor seems to be a decent power/fuel/ratio.

Another terrific instalment. Very much enjoy your presentation style as well as the fact you make the kind of mistakes as you go, that I make myself. It makes your coverage very accessible and a lot of fun. Nice tip about using the trailer store as buy back storage. Although you started the episode noticing the truck price creep, so I do wonder whether that will also apply to equipment.
Quick (unrelated to this instalment) question?... I see the drowned trucks about the place and I’m wondering, will it just be a case of getting close enough for cab access and then recalling them to the garage? Or do they actually have to be pulled out and then manually piloted home.

Oh, forgot to mention.. I just noticed how you can see the petrol sloshing around in the tank. So cool. I wonder if that is a bigger or smaller amount as your fuel level changes. Lovely touch.
If you own them yes, if they are a part of a mission you will have to pull them all the way back.

I know Arthur seems to really like the in cab view, but I personally don't enjoy watching the videos from it. I really like seeing all the scenery and watching the truck plow through the environment! Also, the only times we have seen him damage his trucks is when he is in cab view. It seems to be harder to judge the speed or surroundings from it. Great vid otherwise, I'm really considering getting the game because of them. :)
Its hard to judge the sides of the truck - I experienced this in real life in England because I am used to being on the left side of the car and not the right - I hit a curb or two lol - I do try to limit the cab views, but if I don't put any in, I actually have viewers that get upset that there is no cab view lol. I will limit it more in the future as we get further into the game.
@@Vbluguitar Thanks Arthur, I think it bothers me because I'm not controlling the truck and then the movements are more jarring visually that way to me. I just bought the game last night and had a great 2+hrs of playing. Got the basic scout truck into way too many spots I shouldn't have and had to use the winch like crazy to get out. That might have hooked me on the game!! Hahaha. Thanks for the great vids

the barricade goes away once you play the tutorial and unlock the garage.

I checked the PS4 and the vehicle costs were different. I think the patch did it as the PS4 hasn't been patched yet.
Yeah, they haven't changed since the patch - so no price creep thankfully.
Those barracks are not there on console..unless it is part of that update you mentioned.

The barricades will go away when the correct area or mission is done. I don't know which, or I would tell you. Mine was just gone.

They label it as a Chevrolet CK1500... but it is most definitly a mid to late 90's k1500 pickup... not the blazer

How do you get the Snowrunner gear box and also I don't have the game yet (saying that just in case o have to find it) can I buy it?
It's hidden on the first Michigan map - Whenever you see wrecked cars on the map, get close - you will always find parts there.
Hey, quick question. Do the tracks your tires make in the roads remain or do the roads "reset" to a standard condition? So, would a heavily travelled road get worse over time? Thanks
From my experience they only get worse in the same game day. When I quit and come back later they seem to be "less traveled" again.
I wish they could included the possibity to put large amount of gravel on some parts.
Thanks guys, I'm considering getting the game but I've never used Epic Games and I've heard people complain about it. So, I'm checking it out first and still trying to see if I'd like to play the game, as well as watch the gameplay. :)
Epic is just a launcher for the game, Like Steam or Blizzard. Its fine - People don't like how they are buying off game developers, or how they don't have a review system like steam. It has nothing to do with the games themselves. They are on par with steam in general. I like steam better because the workshop is better, but Epic is just fine.
Also, the dirt resets every time you leave the game and come back.
