Years ago, when she was young, our granddaughter read the book about the saints, that sat on our coffee table. She always told me, that when confirmed, she wanted to have St. Agnes as her patron saint. I wanted this for her, very badly, but our daughter decided to chase some man to a beach, and took our granddaughter away from the stability she'd been fortunate to have. She'd only just had her First Communion.. She only went to Mass when she came to visit. Our daughter never took her back to CCD again, and was never confirmed, because of her mothers life. V.C. is 25 now, and I pray with a sad heart for her daily. Her mother was so happy, on her own confirmation day. Why she withheld it from her child, I don't know. St. Agnes, please pray for our daughter, granddaughter and great grandson.
I feel your hurt for your granddaughter, but hope springs eternal in the hearts of the faithful. God will not allow them to slip away from Him. All in God's time.
