You both are right. Obi wan addopts a few different stances. Chance demonstrated his normal stance, where trevor demonstrated the agressive stance he takes a little later from qui gon. He works through both of those stances but finishes with a more defensive/neutral stance when he finally kills darth maul.

I think we could all stand to use fewer acronyms in general conversation, when we have no way of knowing if the people we're talking to have the same context.
