Johan is also a classic Dutch name. Not much used nowadays for kids but older men are often named johan. His mother could be dutch perhaps? Maybe an immigrant, maybe her family stayed after indonesian independance after dutch colonial times?

Why does this look better than most modern MMA? Muay Thai fighters with size slugging it looks good. I liked the Little Hulk fight, that was wild.
Muay thai has got to be the most entertaining single discipline combat sport. If you dont like grappling its the best. I love mma but muay thai is just amazing. Even watching guys weighing like 115 is just like goddamn the technique and spirit 🤌

This young man is a prodigy, to be going in there at 16 with fully grown men and knocking them spark out is very impressive, he has a maturity abkut his work that rivals any champion in any combat sports. This young man will be the youngest One Champion in history and go down in the history books.
This young man's comment about his mother and father being his source of power/inspiration is interesting. It made me think of other fighters who were dominant in their time: Royce Gracie who used to enter the arena in a line with all his brothers; Khabib Nurmagomedov whose father attended all his son's fights. Having a loving and supportive family gives a person the emotional strength to go that extra distance.
Very impressive young man. Hard to imagine someone his age with that kind of intuition in the ring.

The way he speaks, he sounds like a cool kid everyone like in an urban school. In villages, kids don't bully as everyone knows everyone and the hardcore Southeast Asian parenting would mean that parents would beat the crap out of their kids if they wrong other people kids. I'm saying that as a Malaysian Malay.
When I was his age, I would only run 9-10km in the morning around 0430hrs, sit ups, push ups, stretching and lots of kicks and punches. For hours before and after the work day. The only time this would all be missing was when I was working 24hrs at day for several days. Then back to the routine again. Loved it. No one around, silent streets, just me and the early sunrise. Could run for miles and miles no sweat. Loved it.

If it wasn't for ONE then I wouldn't be in love with Muay Thai. Some of the best at the UFC has to offer has came over and been demolished. I love mighty mouse but some unknown fighter knocked him out when no one else could in the UFC. I mean you got it back but I think that's when people started realizing that ONE has some serious talent. Especially in the Muay Thai. I think I love it more than the UFC now
