Quentin Tarantino is a big comic book fan apparently.Reservoir Dogs and True Romance have a couple of comic book references. My favorite Tarantino comic reference is actually in Crimson Tide where he wrote that scene of the soldiers fighting over who's silver surfer was better, moebius or kirby lol. Btw, a Tarantino adaption of Hard Boiled would be mental.

WHOA! I didn't know this was re colored by Dave Stewart! Did you get that B&W one that came out? Great stuff, Dude! Thanks for sharing! :)

No you know. I just became aware of that one through the comments here. I want to seek that out...but this recolored version is really stunning. I'd done some Michael Golden videos with you in mind...because I know you'd asked about that...hope you saw them!

This is probably my favorite one. And I have the first issue of this and you are right....the new colors are clearer storytellingwise. But the old colors have that late 1980's high end painted color vibe which I also like. I notice that Geoff doesn't ink with a ruler...his stuff has a tight but loose vibe to it. No digital cheats here. AND consider how he doesn't use black at all. He is that bad ass.

I really enjoy Darrow's work. I picked up a copy Big Damn Hard Boiled and a copy of King Sized Rusty a few years ago. Great stuff, just the B/W artwork, oversized, no dialog. Just amazing work.

Just getting around to this video. I really love Darrow's art. My first introduction to his work was what he did with the Matrix movies. I remember hearing about Hard Boiled, but I was very young when it came out. I remember it being like a huge book compared to other comics (size wise). There is so much detail in his images. I hope he makes it to a con in the east. I would love to check out his work.

Wow, I thought this was a telling of the Hard boiled comic, like Danny Malt’s “The Boy’s”.

I was in Berkeley going up to a LCBS when all of a sudden I crossed the road on my badass ride a TREK, when I think I saw Ryan Reynolds going down the street on his bike followed by his girlfriend. I may be crazy because I'm not sure on this one. Ryan looks like a lot of Ryan's in this fucked up world. I said to myself 'Why would Ryan be in Berkeley?' but if you're Ryan you can do what you want.

Yeah the ship full of fat people was WALL-E. And I've got to say, I though I liked to add detail to my work, but I was wrong. lol
