Town of Salem 2 has different factions in it.
The Coven: The Dreamweaver, Enchanter, Illusionist, Medusa, Conjuror, Jinx, Ritualist, Coven Leader, Hex Master, Witch, Necromancer, Poisoner, Potion Master, Voodoo Master and Wildling
The Town: Coroner, Investigator, Lookout, Psychic, Seer, Sheriff, Spy, Tracker, Deputy, Trickster, Veteran, Vigilante, Jailor, Mayor, Monarch, Prosecutor, Bodyguard, Cleric, Crusader, Trapper, Admirer and Amnesiac
The Neutral Apocalypse: Baker, Famine, Berserker, War, Plaguebearer, Pestilence, Soul Collector and Death
Neutral Evil: Executioner, Jester, Doomsayer, Pirate
Neutral Killing: Arsonist, Serial Killer, Shroud and Werewolf

Yeah, every role should get some sort of animation (even if it's only seen by the players involved in an event).
Or, at the very least, unique corpse animations depending on which role killed that player. For instance, players killed by Arsonist could appear as a pile of ashes, or players killed by Pest or Poisoner have green skin, or players killed by Medusa appear to be turned to stone.

@@Wyvernil if a shroud or coven leader gets them,maybe they should look old and drained. In the first game the kill quote for coven leader was drained and the shroud is like ghost related so idk. Also, give enchanted corpses a little origami that are seen by the coven
while jester having a deathnote could be cool and funny, it would be extremely exploitable because jest could send messages from the dead like a medium
It would still be cool if you had to make the death note before dying

it might be a bit of a complex ask but i think the color should be optional for wills. but icons do make it better.

I can't believe that getting seen as sus is a BUFF of all things. I mean, yeah it's the Jester. I just find it funny.
God damn I hate symbols. Colours are fine, jarring at first but you get used to them. But the symbols are ridiculous, I don't even understand what they mean but they sure do well to break the flow of chat.
ok but why does the Jester appear as Sus to Sheriff and have a vest? The point of the Jest is to specifically get lynched in the day and there's a unique challenge behind that objective. Not sure if anyone else feels this way but it feels like they made Jest easier, but why?
Self protect is fine because jesters randomly die very often
@@six-winged-juni I guess that is fair. Jesters will have to predict when they get attacked or use it N1, and I forgot Spies dont see CVs now. But why sus? That just feels like more people are going to fake Jester lol

I do like having the symbols in text. It does make it easier to distinguish the different roles
imo it makes the text more cluttered and harder to read and sort for me

I personally hate tos 2 in general it took all the players from tos 1 and it’s worse in general.
Icons but no colors is best, IMO. The colors clutter a bit much, but the icons still help make things stand out.

Symbols with Less colors is best i think. Also sadly jester with drath note would be bad since they could give dead chat info. Maybe just remove Jesters ability to read dead chat till after they haunt, then add death note!

Yeah but then they can't take requests on who to kill from dead chat. They should be able to write their dead note while they are alive but can no longer change it once they die.
I feel like that's ok enough, it'll be only 1 note and the jester being neutral doesn't have to put anything that'll help 1 side or the other. Sure taking requests is a biased thing in itself but that's for the jester to decide.
I mean, letting jester take requests is part of the fun. I don't think there would be harm in giving them a dead note, even if it lets them share dead chat, since the Jester has already won and isn't affiliated with anyone, so it's not like they'll automatically be trusted, too much risk that the jester is just trying to cause even more chaos.
I like the 1 self protect but showing up as suspicious kinda defeats the purpose of the role. Its no longer "Tricking" the town if you ARE actually verifiably evil. I hope they change it and are just testing the waters.

I do think it streamlines the Town Investigator process since Seer SHOULD see Jester as not Town. I just hate the idea of finding someone evil and the game punishing you for it.
We’ll have to see if the doubt cast on sheriff results by jester’s suspicion results in enough real evils being let off the hook to see if it’s worth it overall. Def agree that it makes it probably too easy for the jester themselves, just thinking about the game overall here.
Maybe jester shouldnt be sus, but can visit players. If he visits someone who dies, he will appear as suspicious/evil to sheriffs/psychics that night [Bloody hands for 2 nights for invest, and will appear as the killer of that player for coroner for the game, though the real killer will as well]. Adds some skill to the Jester, but risk as well.
New exexutioner is even worse. You can get punished for lynching a confirmed evil
I like the idea of Jest appearing as Evil to Seer and Psychic (because it is), but showing up as sus is just too easy especially when a bunch of evil roles don't.
Deputy and Vigi can check found evils for Jesters
If the Shroud shrouds the Seer and the Seer visits the Shroud and one other person, even if the Shroud doesn't die, the other person would and you could infer that the other Seer target has defense and lynch them off that premise.
You could argue that the shroud attacked directly instead of shrouding the seer. But seer gets the different faction message and you are outed anyway.
Im suprised that since they got rid of most kingmaking they don’t just make the jester haunt the first guilty or something like that. I’m not sure if it would be less fun or not though.
That would cause undue shenanigans during voting (waiting till the last second to vote) or in last 3 situations (where two evils agree to help out jester). Imagine if Jester instead killed every guilty and did nothing to abstains.
@@godowskygodowsky1155 only killing guilty people was what jester originally did in TOS1, and it resulted every time in pretty much everyone abstaining since they didn’t want to get haunted. Got very annoying if you wanted to hang anyone.
@@FrozenCampbellSoup That's the second-most glaring issue with what I proposed, the most glaring issue being that nuking half the town would turn Jester into a centralizing mechanic. I just said something that would have no king making involved that sounded mildly cool on paper.

IF Jester being a kingmaker is extremely rare, even with the self protect which would make all attacking roles think you are against them. Only witch can hard confirm a jester now.
So getting to the end game and lynching a split team is rare, much less rare the old confirmed Pirate or successful Exe who could only be killed by 4 roles.
You know what really annoys me, why do only certain roles get cool appearances? Like the Exe has a cool appearance and the jester doesn’t?
Is it just me ot is ToS2 just feel... not right? The graphics and the new UI and all the new animation just doesn't hit the spot like Tos does
Well when you have been playing a game for like three years and then they make a remake with new graphics thats bound to happen. At some point people will get used to it in the end the graphics aren't that different
I am very excited to play tos2 because I came in late for tos1 and found it so hard to do anything in all any because everyone knew EVERYTHING about the game and I didn't even know what invest founds as roles and what to claim and would constantly google since I joined so late. This looks easier for me to get in an enjoy without getting harrassed in the chat lol.

Jester is the "chaotic neutral" role, showing up as sus is an indirect buff to evil and it thrown off the balance of the role as well as defeating the point and challenge of being a Jester.
However should someone be found sus with a deputy in game, they can be immediately be shot if the town is worried about a jest in play
Well in the other way around (town of salem 1), if u were checked and found inno, u never getting lynched and dying to maf or evils, making it imposible to win

@@fleshhunter8703 I believe Pirate, Plague, Arso, and Jugg all had sheriff immunity. (Not sure on exe) And so did Jest. So trust Sheriff especially in modes like all any is not a perfect call.
The vest buff for jester is good. But them appearing inno to sheriff and seer is such a bad buff design wise. I think thats the worst gameplay mechanic the devs changed. Jester was already the easiest role and one of their challenges was them being confirmed. removing that is just a terrible idea. They need to make jester appear innocent unless enchanted.
It would make the vest decision that more of an impact since no matter the faction they will think you are immune.

Jester should totally have a unique anim for getting hung, or at least a custom sound, like maniacal laughter or something.
I’m not the biggest fan of the Jester buffs. The sheriff finding you as suspicious aspect is pretty boring. It just makes playing as Jester super easy and removes a lot of the social element of getting hanged. The basic defense also means that if, say, a spy bugs you, it is super easy to get hanged as well if you are attacked.
I don’t like how the sheriff finds the jester sus but I like the vest, dying n1 as jest is so annoying.
@@jurlasher1091 Yeah I definately agree. Sheriff finding jester sus makes it a bit too easy. But I do like the basic defense. This just makes the Jest and Exe more similar, and gives Jest another avenue for getting hung. But getting attacked won't guarantee a lynching, since deputy/jailor can simply just kill you to bypass hanging.
I disagree, honestly, Sherrif is already a super easy role to fake, so a Sherrif finding you isn't necessarily a free win, especially now that deputy is a thing.
I like the icons without the colors, they can be a little overwhelming. I also would like a bigger distinction between dead chat and regular chat like in TOS 1
I like the colors w/out symbols, color coded roles helps me distinguish better. I don't play so I don't know what the symbols mean instinctually so colors make more sense to me.

What I really wanna see in tos2 when it releases are unique models for every role. It just doesn't fair for me that some roles have cool models and some are just dudes with a lantern :(

If Jester had a death note, they could bring spectator chat information into the game which wouldn't be fair.
or they could disable the ability to change your death note after you die but that probably would have its issues too
Make it so you can only write it when you are alive so it won’t show up if you write anything when you dead
Pipe the reason shroud going on seer would be a possibly bad move is because if the seer checked shroud they would see that 1 of the 2 people from who they checked died likely resulting in them getting outted as shroud. Even if they didn't use their brains for that part of the deduction the other person who was checked would have their roles revealed and shroud would be outted as enemies for that faction.
jester being able to vest does wonders for jester, especially if people don't know jester has a self-vest ability
The symbols are helpful, but I am definitely glad you can turn off all of the colors in chat. So much easier to read!

Some more dumb lore idea on what happend to the surv. After the surv was lynched his 4 vests were given 2 to the jester, 1 to the bg and 1 to the doctor.
Why would the surv give specifically two vests to the jest? Also i am pretty sure cleric and bg can prorect themselves twice now so that kinda ruins the theory
@@zoe.xoundinian its math the cleric and bg can protect themselves 2 times compared to just 1. So thats 1 additional time each. The jest could not protect at all thats why they are included. Ps doc and cleric same thing. And this is just assuming Tos 1 happend before Tos 2. So I like to imagine the lord of the flys where the town is ripping the surv apart because their "evil incarnate." (As players within Tos 1 does) its just even better with the only 4 self vests being divied up amongs the town afterwards.
I think jester should have the same ability as he did in Traitors in salem, killing your target + using him to kill someone, obviously just once, the night after you got lynched.

The best part of jester is seeing people be confident that they lynched an evil just to see the text "The Jester will get their revenge from the grave" and be like oh tarnation or I should have inno'd. It will never get old

That's not how that works, Pipe. The abilities being more powerful devalues the social deduction aspects of the game. Therefore... there is less social deduction. It's not the synergy you're imagining.
The icons just add stuff to the text box. They dont help with understanding what a role is or does, and dont really have cool points or anything. Im not going to be like "What is a hex master" then see a purple juice icon and go "oh, its a complex coven role with a hex bomb that i know all about"! Its just clutter, id say
Hey Pipe, just a suggestion, but you could possibly play the better tos mod. It's really cool and I would love to see you play it too. However, it only works with tos 1 so maybe for your next tos 1 video you could do that with friends. You don't have to do it, and I won't hate you for it, it's just a suggestion and that's all.
I've claimed survivor as jester in tos2 and these all any players put me up completely ignoring the fact I could be jest (for yall who don't know, surv is no longer in the game)
They should make Jester's deathnote be something like "John Doe died last night. Their will was X. Their role was X. We found a message John Doe wrote in their own blood next to him." *cue Jester message*

shroud prob didnt attack night 4 bc the seer woulda seen that 7 and 15 were enemies and the shroud wouldve killed 7 which would confirm 15 being the shroud so by not attacking he bought himself an extra night. but that situation was kinda unwinnable for shroud either way
Symbols make chat a million times better
I prefer having just plain text in chat. I find all the icons and colors unnecessarily distracting from the actually important info.

I don't like Jester's Vest giving it the ability to be seen as suspicious. Being seen as "Not Town" by Seer is fine, but being seen as Suspicious is a bit unnecessary.
I dont think being found as sus is dependent on the vest, pretty sure its just passive. In my opinion I like the vest but maybe sheriff results could be reconsidered. Might be a bit too easy
@@EnderSpy007 You're found as non-town by seers, which is correct, but Sheriffs will find you as Inno unless you use the Vest, then you're found sus but only for the night you used the vest.

The best way to play Jester isn't to be silent, because that's NO FUN! You aren't a true jester unless you ruin everyone elses game in the process, the true spirit of goofing on everyone! Thoguh you'll probably get killed, if you get people hung before they hang you, you have TRULY jestered someone. Or any other way you can think to troll!
Protecting after accidentally getting a evil hung seems like a good idea tho
I personally prefer the text without the icons (my brain just automatically starts skimming using the icons instead of reading what people are saying about said icon/person), but if others prefer it, I guess I'll just deal. Still better than the colour explosion by far.
Yes to the colors no to the symbols, the symbols just make everything longer and requires memorization of all symbols. think you'd be surprised how many viewers don't play.

That sounds fun though it would defeat the whole point of jest which is acting sus during the day to get town to lych you. If you had that ability you could just visit someone that will die to coven and hope a tracker or lookout sees you. It would be unfair for those two roles since they just get punished for doing their job and trying to find an evil.
@@zoe.xoundinian yeah true tracker being punished for having the correct info would suck. but i figured being limited to 1 visit and picking the right target wouldn't interfere with town that much.
but then again the game already has mechanisms to punish trackers playing correctly. its whether if having a 2nd role that does visits causes more chaos than the game already does.

Idea for tos; when you die a animation is played based on how you died (similar to among us but you cant see the killer’s skin/name, just the silloughete similar to admirer)
