Baggage, everybody has some. You know, those things in our past we would just as soon forget. For the Apostle Paul, he was no exception. I'm sure that his past sins of persecuting the people of God, his carrying of arrogant pride, and his self-reliance often tried to catch up with him and weigh him down.
But God revealed something incredible to Paul as he wrote the church in Philippi: forget the past and press forward, press into the upward call of God in Christ Jesus! For Paul, no sweeter words could ever be heard! Forget the past, don't let it define you, move on and hear where God is calling! Hear His heavenly call!
Of course, this is great news for the rest of us also. God has called us to move beyond, past, and to forget about our past failures. And rather, press into, reeeaaacchhh forward to where God is calling and the incredible prize that awaits!
Yes, great news indeed!
