Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS): Looking forwards (England)

Liberty Protection Safeguards (LPS) are due to come into force in 2022.
As part of our work to support the social care sector to prepare and embed LPS within everyday practice, SCIE has produced a short video to encourage the sector to consider how LPS will seek to promote practice which aligns with human rights and the core principles and duties of the Care Act 2014.

Multiple social workers including the management don't even know of existence of Independent Advocacy, some not even know of the Care Act, often coming in with approach 'this is what the Local Authority can offer, take it or leave it'. This video will be good to share with those Teams to hopefully enlighten them with what their role is/should be. Thank you for great summary video.
