Usually I wholeheartedly disagree when people say, even 5H fans, that the girls are not good performers, not so good singers or that their vocals have gone downhill since 2012 or whatever. I've started watching videos of them a year ago and the comments truly surprised me. I think that they are doing way better than half (and more) of current mainstream artists when it comes to performance only. When it comes to singing, in my opinion, they do outsing most of current mainstream. Sure, there are a few things they could work on but at this point it just a lack of confidence that stops them from taking it to the next level. When I watch them I am always entertained and my ears are always very pleased. Their ear for music truly impresses me. Having said that, that wasn't their best performance of Down. It was not awful but it was the worst I saw them perform this song. Usually, on this song, they are in sync and it's clean. But it was not the case on that day. It happens, so I'm not worried. However, there's Fallon tonight and that end was very messy and is a no for me. I appreciate the attempts at changing up the parts on the last choruses. But what the end could use is more adlibs like Dinah, Lauren and Normani already had on the original version (Imma love you down, Down down down down, Long as you're loving me boy...). I really really hope that they'll perform Down like they used to on Fallon tonight because it would be a shame not to perform it in their best way.

Poor Ally babe is still struggling with choreo but she has a voice from heaven so it's okay 😌 I honestly wish they'd simplify the choreo for her for the part where guccis verse comes in cus it's so fast pace I noticed that where she tends to mess up.
I did not feel the energy in this performance of down. I have seen better from them. I don't know if they were tired or what. But it takes a lot of courage to step onto that stage and do what they did. So hats off to them. But y'all can do better. Keep shining🙄
