Multiclasses and subclasses: * Vridi (Aabria): Air Genasi, Paladin (Watcher UA) level 20. Stated as Watcher in the intro, mechanically confirmed around 38:00 as having truesight as an activated ability (part of the lvl20 capstone) Aura of the Sentinel: add her proficiency bonus to everyone's initiative rolls in the TCE version, but they recorded this before Tasha's released. The UA version was apparently +Cha. * Dhaltyn (Jen): Triton, Ancients paladin 7 to 17, multiclass. Perhaps with Bard given the stage play backstory, and the +5 Cha modifier for her auras. Aura of Warding (resistance to damage from spells) is an Oath of the Ancients feature. 39:25 It's 30 ft range at level 18 and higher, but she only has 10 ft so presumably multi-classed. That's probably how she has Mirror Image, which is normally only available to paladins via UA Oath of Treachery. Also used channel divinity: Turn the Faithless. * Khizervexx (Mark): Black Dragonborn, Cleric 11+ / Paladin 9 or lower. Multiclass cleric stated in the intro, casts True Seeing (6th) at 39:50. If not from an item, that requires a cleric level of 11 to prepare it. Paladin/cleric of Bahamut, so possibly Devotion or Vengeance. He sounds very devoted... Also, B. Dave is just going to keep mispronouncing his name as kiss-e-verex (transposing the R), even though Mark keeps saying it as kaiser-vex. :/ * Valygar (Dustin): High Elf, ? Paladin 10th or lower / Fey Wanderer Ranger at least 7th. (Probably the UA version, since it was also published in TCE) Appears not to have Improved Divine Smite, so paladin level less than 11. Blessings of the Courts 3d6 smite-like psychic damage is a 7th-level Fey Wanderer (UA) feature; the version published in TCE has some significant changes, including replacing that feature entirely. Only a +8 to hit, so Str only 14 or 15?? And that's assuming a weapon with no +hit bonus. I guess he put ASIs into Con and Cha, and maybe Wis or Dex, all for defense. Knight of the Summer Court could be Oath of the Crown. (sounds very Dresden Files.) Died taking a hit for Titania, possibly from the lvl7 subclass feature > Divine Allegiance: when a creature within 5 feet of you takes damage, you can use your reaction to magically substitute your own health for that of the target creature, causing that creature not to take the damage. Instead, you take the damage. This damage to you can't be reduced or prevented in any way. 56:20 - has something that works against Charm effects, probably just his Elf racial. Oath of Devotion has an aura against that, but he didn't mention that when they were listing auras, or when other people were rolling saves. And his Elf racial would also explain it. Anti-fear aura is baseline for paladins at 10th level, so at least Vridi is covering the whole group with that. He did ask about that for his own save but didn't mention it for others, maybe Paladin level is below 10th. Also, the mind-control / dominate on Freely would have been blocked by an aura that made allies immune to charm. --- 35:35 - Protection from Poison doesn't have a material component listed, but nothing stop you from adding stuff like this as flavour for how your character casts a spell. Very cool. 37:00 - Beholder-like headgear? Perhaps Belashyrra's Beholder Crown from Eberron, a legendary magic item that lets you cast various spells from it. Yup, she later casts Finger of Death from it. 46:10 - If they were using the TCE published version of the Watchers oath, it would be +6 to initiative from proficiency modifier. The UA version used Cha (which explains the +5), like most Paladin auras. Scaling with proficiency was a change between UA and the TCE release, making it an unusual Paladin aura. This stream came out in Aug 2020, but Tasha's Cauldron of Everything wasn't until Nov 2020. 49:27 - Correct, initiative is a Dex ability check, so Bless doesn't apply, but Guidance would, if anyone was concentrating on that instead of Shield of Faith, Bless, and other stuff they cast before going through the portal. B. Dave was trying to think of a spell that gives a bonus specifically to initiative, perhaps Gift of Alacrity from EGW (Wildemount), which gives a 1d8 to initiative for 8 hours. (Chronurgy Wizard, Graviturgy Wizard) 51:47 - as a multiclass bard, she has even more spell slots than a pure lvl20 Paladin; it would be insane *not* to drop at least a lvl1 smite for an extra 3d8 damage (since this is a fiend). This is a one-shot, so they're not going to have time for a huge number of rounds of combat, and B. Dave has dropped big hints that things are going to get bad. I'm 100% with Aabria on this, are you even a Paladin. Depending on Paladin level, she might have a passive Improved Divine Smite that does an extra 1d8 on every hit. 1:21:05 - According to Sul Khatesh's statblock, overlapping spheres of Arcane Cataclysm don't stack; if you're in the area of two of them you still only make one save. > A creature in the area of more than one arcane burst is affected only once. The area of each arcane burst then acts as an antimagic field for 1 hour. Sul Khatesh and spells she casts are unaffected by these fields. Fortunately this ability only recharges on a long rest. 1:33:00 - IDK why Jen thinks she can't use spells. If she was in an anti-magic zone from Sul Katesh's Arcane Cataclysm, she couldn't use magic at all, including magic abilities like Divine Smite. And I think B. Dave would know why if that was the reason. If she was multi-classed barbarian and was raging, then she couldn't use spells. 1:37:55 - Spiritual Weapon's cast time *is* just bonus action, unlike Bigby's Hand for example. He couldn't cast it anyway, though, because his action was a spell (Heal at 9th level) that wasn't a cantrip. 1:39:55 - What is up with all this not-smiting? Divine Smite isn't casting a spell. It's a totally unrelated way to consume a spell slot, and has no interaction with the bonus-action spellcasting rules. B. Dave isn't being generous with the rules here, only generous in saving Aabria from a mistake. You pretty much always want to smite on a crit. 1:41:00 - Normally Bardic inspiration can't be applied to damage. B. Dave was letting chat-granted inspiration apply on damage. Dustin was indeed thinking of Valor bards, not Swords: Valor is the subclass with Combat Inspiration, which lets you add the die to a weapon damage roll. (Or use your reaction to add it to your AC when an attack roll is incoming.) I had to look it up, I couldn't remember whether that was swords bards or not. Swords bards can spend inspirations on Blade Flourishes. Rak Tulkesh's Provoke Rage ability doesn't say a creature has to smite on the melee attack if able, just that they make a melee attack against a random creature within reach. "This attack is made with advantage and gains a +4 bonus to the damage roll." So B. Dave is being kinda "mean" or aggressive by having Freely smite and Eldritch Smite. Sul Khatesh has a different ability that can force a creature to expend a spell slot to do AoE damage (or be stunned). 1:57:04 - Finger of Death is save-for-half, unlike Disintegrate. If it was save-for-none, then no, it wouldn't be "worth a try", not when you consider the opportunity cost of doing something useful with your action, instead of hoping a CR26 gargantuan dragon will fail a Con save. (Acererak would have failed on a 3, but he's immune to necrotic damage.) Niv-Mezzet has a +17 bonus to Con saves, so can only fail via B. Dave's house rule that a nat 1 always fails, not just on attack rolls.

I love Mark. He just completely vanishes into his role and keeps a straight face while roleplaying a sock puppet.
I love his roles, except for puppet stuff which is idiotic cringe no matter who does it - except for that one episode of Angel back in the day...
Mark Meer is just so cool. I mean, they all are, but Mark is the only one with a Dragonborn hand puppet.

42, jk but holy cow that’s a lot
Awww that was so good.
is there a way to see the player sheets/stats for these players? I'd like to know out of sheer curiosity.
Dhaltyn was Oath of the Ancients 8/Draconic (fire) Sorcerer 8/War Wizard 2/Hexblade Warlock 2, if that helps at all!
Valygar is Paladin: Oath of the Crown 12, Ranger: Fey Wanderer (UA) 8
Vridi is a Air Genasi, 20th level Oath of the Watchers Paladin.
IIRC, Khizervexx was something like Cleric 14 (Life?) / Paladin 6 (Devotion)
My ex sailor paladin of Selune would probably rather go for the coastal mission riding her giant seahorse Moonlight
I wish there was an octopus variant ov ilithid that was benevolent or neutral
