Thank you love my city.
@@小草-i9w OMG! CHiina economy is down!
There are barely no people on SHanghai streets.
I'll be in Beautiful Shanghai next week! Can't wait ❤
You will love it! No doubt!! ❤️
In Chinese national holiday week? Oh dear 😅
if possible, please postponed your schedule, because next week will be chinese national day, which will be crazy busy everywhere. Trust me, really everywhere!
@@andyluo104 Went there last year too, it was busy but still enjoyed it, I don't want to just stay off when I have 7, days off from work haha
@@weichen2366 I know, but I have 7 days off from work, so If rather go Shanghai then just stay at home not not do anything
I have always wanted to go China 🇨🇳 Love the people ,the history ,the food ,lifestyle ,discipline. ❤
Really hope you get there one day! It is so worth it! ❤️ but until then, glad you are travelling with us 🥰

I have been watching a chinese vlog little chinese everwhere which is great and was hoping to see more from an outsider stand point! Everyone there seems so friendly! Keep up the great content! Have fun in China! Im a big fan!
We have seen her channel too, she is great! ❤️
Really looking forward to showing g you more from our perspective! Thank you 🥰
Want to see an European's family living in China perspective... try YT channel: Our Chinese Life. They're mostly focusing on Food nowadays. Their children were both born in China. 🕊 Another YT channel, this one from an American working in China, is: Katherine's Journey to the East.
Shanghai is truly one of the best cities in the world ❤ I'm back there again next week and I can't wait!
I bet! What we love about it is, despite its size, it’s so walkable! 😍
Any city could epitomizes the changes that have happened in this country like Shanghai does, yes, Shenzhen, which was 40 years ago a fishing village.
I’m sure. For us, the changes in Shanghai and its skyline etc, are something we have seen in every corner of the world 😍
哈哈 10月1假期来了 让你们体验体验 什么叫人潮 😀
Hahaha, we will be travelling that time too, we will film our experience 😬😁
@@MattandJulia this is not a good idea, too many people, people mountain people sea
Wow what an amazing city. So much colour and you almost can feel the vibe. Definitely on my bucket list.
You were not far from the restaurant section of the Yunnan Road. If you continued for another half mile (south bound), you would find many local restaurants.
Enjoy your time in China.
Aaaaah! So close 😩 next time, I guess 😁 Thank you ❤️
The French concession is the best area in Shanghai
Yeah, we agree, very beautiful ❤️
Love Shanghai❤was there in 2012 …The language is so difficult, the same word means horse or mother😂if you pronounce it wrong…good luck you both…love your China vlogs! Love from Holland❤
Hahaha, there’s a thin line between being kind and insulting someone in Mandarin it seems 😬😅 Thank you, we need it! 😀❤️
From what you saw, does it look similar to how you remember in 2012? Or has the city changed a lot?
Love to Holland ❤️😘
@@MattandJulia it looks pretty similar, ‘the bund’(world financial centre where you can walk on a glass floor)eating the best crayfish with the locals, sitting between live walking rats haha…That was an adventure..but in 2012 we had no live internet on our way, so live has changed I guess…
OMG! CHiina economy is down!

I’d like to visit there someday! 👍😃
We are sure you will love it 😍❤️
Wish you happy days in China! Shanghai looks like a beautiful city! 😊
Thank you very much Marina! ❤️🙌🏼
Thank you for showing this amazing city ( and ! giving background info!)
I’m glad I don’t have to go there myself now… 37‘ 🥵I admire you both! Looking forward to more videos from China! Love Joy❤
Thank you so much Joy, can’t wait to share more! ❤️ The heat was crazy, thankfully it gets a lot cooler in the winter months 🥰
2Passports1dream is also in China, not sure if you are still there but they seem to do similar things as you guys. Maybe you could catch up with them as I think you guys have a similar vibe. Love your video’s.
Thank you so much! It’s a pleasure to have you along with us 🥰 Ah nice, they seem really lovely ❤️
Wow! I wanna go on vacation to China someday 😮
Shanghai is a very good city
We agree 🙃❤️
You should all live there. Nice socialist society all the buses running on time just don’t try to say anything against the government or you’ll be on the police bus.
Matt is such a diva. He wants someone to fan him lol😂
Hahahaa, I am ngl 😁
You asked his name right and he answered by telling you his name .......... so the exchange was fine .
Waaaheeey! 🥳🙌🏼😅
Wow, stunning shots of Shanghai. Can't wait for more stories. Merci, thanks!
Thank you very much Linda! ❤️
Had an overnight transit in Shanghai on my way to Saint Petersburg a couple of months ago. It was my brief and first encounter of Shanghai and by that I mean within a vicinity of Pudong Airport, lol. What a shame I didn't have much more time to explore the city like you both did :) xx
Hopefully you get another chance soon 🙏🏼❤️
Yes, that street has a lot of Istiklal feel to it, the only thing missing is the simit sellers. Last year I finished reading the Ibis Trilogy, written by Amitav Ghosh, in which he describes in some parts China at the time of the Opium War. How everything has changed now. It will be a pleasure to follow you in the various vlogs that will come from that area. The sound is very good now with the furry microphone! Haha. Regards to both of you from Buenos Aires.
Haha, for sure, it’s not the same without people trying to force you in to their respective shops 😅
Oh, interesting, I will check it out! 🙏🏼
Thank you so much Alejandro! Looking forward to sharing more 😍❤️
在中國或東亞地區,第一次見面很少會問 你叫什麼名字,而是問 你貴姓。
Thank you for the info 🙏🏼❤️
So true ❤
It is like another planet! 😍
Knowing even a few words goes a long way. Don't be afraid to interact.
Excellent video - Shanghai looks great and much more laid back and friendly than I expected.
Its the background noise of people and music that I hear in the video, rather than traffic.
is this because there are so many electric cars, vans and bikes in the city?
Also it doesn't seem to be polluted?
Really glad you enjoyed it!! ❤️
Yes exactly, the amount of electric vehicles make is surprisingly quiet in the city centre 😍
And no, the air quality was very good, not sure if it changes by season though 🤔
OMG! CHiina economy is down!
There are barely no people on SHanghai streets.
Two videos in one week? This Saturday‘s just become a bit better!
Love to explore the world a little more with you two. I‘m finding so many inspirations to travel to myself. Thanks so much!
Will be two a week for the next few months at least 🥰🥳
Can’t wait to share more of China with you, thanks for coming along with us! ❤️
I believe you will have an unforgettable journey in your lifetime. Wish you a pleasant journey.
Nice
❤️

Spoiler alert: the bund will be packed on National Day (Oct 1st)
Shanghai is my home town. Welcome to Shanghai!
Chengdu city in the mountains is an unusual city to visit ✌️❤️🇬🇧
don't eat at tourist food courts 😅. just find a local restaurant that looks fairly busy and you will have better, more authentic, and cheaper food
Rule number one for foreigners in China, unless to children, never say what's your name.. it could be considered rude
Shanghai is my favourite Chinese city and I hope it will remain so as I explore more Chinese cities. Do visit the French concession area when you are there. I love that area.
As anyone can see the murals on the old building are quite patriotic. I would translate the one @10:00 The hot blood of the youth to join the military to protect the country. Pardon any mistakes as Chinese is not my native language.
For being heavily populated, was surprised by how empty of people it was. Even though very hot, I would have thought lots more walking about
Will have X’mas there and I am sure it will be crowded. New year in Chong Qing🙄, we are into pain🤣
My elementry school was next to that church in people square 38 years ago. I can still remember the sound of that bell. and yes, we do have a half day school on Saturday.
The automatically generated English language on your video cannot😅 appear in Chinese characters when selecting Auto Translate into Chinese. You may be using the wrong method or software when editing the video. It's a pity that many chinese missed this video because most Chinese people don't understand English.
shanghai is a great place. been there in 2011,honestly i cant remember much and i would love to go back there. if you have the time, i would recommend you to explore jilin, Liaoning and Heilongjiang provinces in northern china. safe trip!
That's a great idea to study Chinese for one month in the historic northern capital of Beijing. Russia is 俄国 e-guo with the first syllable 'e' sounding more like the vowel sound in 'huh'. In general Chinese have a better impression of Russia than England especially the older generation.
Glad you both enjoy shanghai. Perhaps when you return to England, suggest all your politicians especially all the city mayors to come to shanghai to visit. Perhaps they can learn something from Shanghai.Especially keeping the city clean and no homeless people. The subway trains run on time and kept clean.
Hi Matt and Julia, you are finally up to our temps here in southern Spain lolllllll Great video although i don't normally do big cities for pleasure, but Shanghai looks the bees' knees.
My favourite food in the world is Chinese cuisine. The culture and people in china seem very friendly no country in the world beats china and Japan for fast and good transport/trains amazing architecture no shouting and arguing in public and good food. Wish England was like china quick at developing things like good roads citys and buildings .and its crazy that shanghai is home to around 30 million yet the city feels quiet and has many peaceful areas like parks same as other Chinese citys and the world's largest city tokyo japan .
The ads on the wall at 9:55 is a recruiting ad for Chinese armed forces. And yes, those houses are being demolished.
Just don't think about the heat, then it won't feel as hot.
Even nice blue sky!
Matt did you try the beer?
beautiful video!
Just wondering if you filmed this vlog before or after the typhoon hit Shanghai?
Just before, it was around a week after x
is it rude in china to wear sunglasses in public? i know when i was in korea it was considered rude.
Don't worry about these details
Amazing Shanghai..
A beautiful city ❤️
大陸硬體/基建可以說名列全球前茅,但是衷心希望軟體部分人們的水準能同時提升,不要隨意吐痰,闖紅燈..................
To be honest, we only met friendly, lovely people ❤️
i would love to see how shanghai looked before Xi took over as dictator in 2014
hahaha, but Chinese like the present Shanghai. Go away!
Why are you there? Why? Are you completely removed from what's happening politically in the world? I've been a fan for a long time. Why are you spending your money there and talking about it's lovely places? Don't get me wrong, I have always been fascinated with China and love learning about it's people and diversity. That doesn't mean I would spend money there. I just don't understand how tone-deaf you are in this case.
Travel, and our channel more broadly, isn’t and never has been about politics, it is about travelling, meeting people and sharing our world. Travelling is learning and understanding, and that hopefully in turn makes us all more connected. We are all citizens of the same planet ❤️
We live under the same sun peace
welcome Matt and Julia to China xx
Thank you so much!! ❤️
马上十一了。中国的假日活动会非常拥堵。车票和酒店最好提前预定。
Thank you for the advice ❤️
I saw the national flag on the street lamp, which means China's National Day is coming soon. At that time, you will understand what a country with a population of 1.4 billion is like.🤣
almost all china cities are very green..
欢迎光临!
Xiexie! ❤️🙌🏼
