How far Australia has fallen!
My heart has broken for my beloved nation. I’m only 15 and when I was a little kiddo I proudly sang that we were young and free at the flagpole every Monday morning. Now we are neither and our glorious flag and the pledge to it is spat upon by those elected to protect our God-given rights.
@@Aussie-426 The fact that when you were a little kiddo you were singing that "we were young and free at the flagpole every Monday morning" is in itself a symptom of those "elected to protect our God-given rights", spitting on our Christian heritage for they had forced on us that counterfeit national anthem, taking from us a true national anthem that was Our Prayer to God to save the Government of our nation in the form of the Crown from evil.
Back when I was in Primary School, My memory is of every morning parade where we sang at the Flagpole (with the Christian Crosses of our Australian Flag flying unopposed), the prayer of our then National Anthem. My heart is broken every time I am forced endure the awful strains of the "current piece" which doesn't at all reflect the values of the Australia which I grew up in.
@@Aussie-426 historically an anthem was a prayer, and a national anthem a prayer for the nation. That song of awful strains is not in any form a prayer but prideful boast (which cometh before a fall).

I used to sing that as I went to a Christian school… is that what you’re referencing? Or the Christian flag (the white one with the red cross on a blue backround in the upper-left corner and yellow fringe?) with the pledge being ‘I pledge allegiance to the Christian Flag, and to the Savior, for whose Kingdom it stands. One Savior, crucified, risen and coming again, with life and liberty for all who believe.’
@@Aussie-426 Ahh I can see your confusion. You were indeed blessed to attend at Christian School that honoured Christ by singing a verse that referenced Christ as our head and cornerstone. But no that is not the sung prayer I was referencing. The true national anthem that was Our Prayer to God to save the Government of our nation, was ''God Save the Queen''. It is also a hymn and prayer to God to protect Australia, that 50 years ago was even prominently a part of the Church Hymnals for a number of Christian Church denominations. I was in a state primary school when we would sing this hymn - our national prayer to God - on school parade.
And I am aware of a Christian Flag similar to which you describe and I also have done the pledge of allegiance to the Christian Flag while I attended a Christian High school. But the Christian flag to which I referring is the current Australian Flag with its 3 Christian Crosses of the Union Jack. [From Wikipedia The flag consists of the red cross of Saint George (patron saint of England), edged in white, superimposed on the saltire of St Patrick (patron saint of Ireland), also edged in white, which are superimposed on the saltire of Saint Andrew (patron saint of Scotland).] Back when I was in primary school it was the only flag flown but nowadays it is usually relegated to equal position with at least 2 other non-christian flags.
