1.) your kids are not the boss of you! you told them you were going to the halloween store which turned out to be closed -- YOU DO NOT NEED TO APOLOGIZE TO THEM or feel badly as a parent! you do not OWE them a perfect experience every day, or every time you leave the house. going out to a store that ends up being closed is not the tragic mistake you think it is. teach the kids to roll with new information. 2.) why would you let them eat candy, or anything, in the shoe store? not a good precedent to set. it is a real store, not an outdoor market where people just walk around and eat.
Well I don't know what kind of mentality is that, but YES.even kids deserves to be apologized to, when you failed or disappoint them...besides there is nothing wrong with saying you are sorry....it teaches them that even parents makes mistakes & when they do, it is good to own it & say sorry. It is not about who is the boss or the adult...they have to be the example to these kids, how can you teach your kids how to apologize when they themselves don't do it?
My point was it is NOT a failure, and there was nothing to apologize for! Circumstances changed. The children were unhurt and visited different stores. Not a tragedy. Judy was falling all over herself being ashamed for this tiny information mistake and it wasn't necessary. She should take a more breezy approach to stuff like this and focus more on other parenting matters that could really improve the family's quality of life.

Every kid have their moments, of having bad mood...even adults have their cranky, don't talk to me, get away from my face kinda' days...JB is fine she's 3....these are kids. They are seriously well behaved kids compared to other kids out there.
