How well things go when the public just do what they are really supposed to do: come forward with their knowledge and be vigilant and share whatever information they can.
How well things go when cops actually put maximum effort and put all their resources into solving a murder. They put forth far more effort when it's a cop or cop's family member who is the victim. Don't forget, they only solve about 6 of 10 murders, and it's almost always because someone tells them who committed the crime. They aren't very good at actually solving crimes. Ms Brooks case always makes me think of the adage, 'when it goes wrong in the first hour, it stays wrong'. They had a hypothesis in the very beginning that it was a straight robbery, and she had been dragged back in and never considered any other possibilities, such as the murderer was already inside. Her face was covered, that's a big sign her killer knew her. Her shoes were off, strange if she had been forced back in. To give him only 10 yrs probation without making him give the whereabouts of the body I'd a travesty. They finally found him, only yards away in the apt complex.
I missed most of what you pointed out (but you are right) but I did think of the shoe thing. But then I reasoned that maybe the killer had begun to take them as a trophy but then didn’t. But the odds of that are slim
First case: the ex gf knew he assaulted and killed a person, but she didn't bother to contact the police right away? She should be in prison just for that.
She was scared and in hiding. I think it's telling that she told what she knew when Bomar was already in custody-- and I hope she's reached a better, kinder place in her life now.
I don't understand this last case. 10 yrs. probation for boyfriend and yet both perpetrators refused to give location of the body? Perhaps there's more to the story not mentioned here? What a heartless & thoughtless thing to say to a worried & distraught grief-filled father. That devoted father is so great to have pursued the answer, & thank goodness for the news clip about the Vidocq Society he saw on t.v. that night when he got back to his hotel room. Miraculous! And thank goodness for the brilliant Vidocq Society delving into this & helping him bring his son's killers to justice. All Offenders are "Repeat Offenders" Recidivism is alive and well in the US. "Career Criminal" is such a sickening term. There is NO Career in Crime, just Prison or Death.
Lots of secret psychos in Delaware County! My friend & I were lost there-after the peak of sunset- on our way back to her farm. We were high speed chased through State Hunting land former/forest logging land-by a man who knew we were lost, had offered to share a map from the hatchback of his car-in an area with NO satellite signal. I saw the handgun as he reached in the hatchback & we sped off with my friend still driving. Fortunately, we were in a borrowed hemi pickup truck, more powerful than his car. He pursued us for over 15 mins, attempting to come up and run us off the roads repeatedly.... we were so lucky to hit an actual road, albeit empty. We thought he had abandoned his chase, but after a couple minutes, his headlights cut back on and he was on us again- for a full 5 country miles. We finally hit a gas station and he made a screeching u-turn and fled. No police came. The next day we went to our local pd on the NYS side of the Delaware Co border. The instructed US to contact PA state police....We'd been chased on both sides of that border! PA police did take a statement, but really didn't get back to us-about a criminal who was clearly in a favorite place to possibly predate women. Oh wait, they did call back with some follow-up questions 2 yrs later but never let us know they had a nurder suspect in custody. We found out on tv-when his face was splashed out as arrested for suspected multiple murders and corporeal disposal in that very area. That guy turned out to be a serial killer-arrested for murders committed and bodies secreted in those wooded areas, couple years later. He was in his late 40-s to mid 40s , caucasian, driving a subaru or similar & looking like a dad at elementary school pickup...White men are terrifying for the very truth that they are 4000% more likely to get away with murder and a litany of suspicions, scrutiny or punishment for offenses. It's all too typical that this televised crime show picked the story with a black assailant. There sadly are plenty of others to portray in that region-most will be caucasian. Just sayin'... Sorry if cops read this and feel attacked by ny very pared-down reportage, here...BUY seriously, we were hardly acknowledged as having really been through what we had. We felt then that we had narrowly escaped murder because we DON'T HAVE GUNS-WON'T HAVE GUNS.
What a mockery of a system that allows the release of these heinous killers to murder again. That poor boy and the terror he must have felt at the hands of this monster is horrifying and sickening and yet to commute this killers sentence to life instead of an eye for an eye is an insult to Christophers memory may he rest in peace.
The last part of the program, where the woman killed her boyfriend, her sentence and the new boyfriends sentence is surely a joke to justice. Smack on the wrist and out to kill again. Our nation and JUSTICE system is in real trouble, are we surprised when criminal are put back out on the streets. Have we not learned the pattern of the criminal and how they get out and are worse criminals in the end. Lord please have mercy on us all we're in bad times. Rhonda
No child Predator should be allowed to walk the streets free. In my opinion any individual that is vile enough to destroy the life of a young innocent child should never see the light of day again. That individuals brain is not able to function normally and in my opinion they should not be aloud to see the light of day again or at least not be able to see a sign of day light other than through a small tinted Prison Cell window
I think maybe it was not a coincidence that Bomar successfully pulled one lady over and ended her life and attempted to pull another one over and BOTH of these young women were the daughters of cops. That just seems too coincidental to be coincidental. I wonder if this man was a career criminal who hated cops and he somehow targeted these particular young women in an attempt to "stick it to the man". He followed Aimee out of the bar so he very well could have learned who she was during the hours she had spent talking to friends and knowing her dad was a cop he decided to make her his victim. It seems far-fetched that he knew who he was targeting but it also seems far-fetched to believe that both of these young women just happened to be the daughters of policemen. My humble opinion is that a child rapist or killer should NEVER be paroled. It is a terrible miscarriage of justice that a little boy was murdered by a man who had already killed one child but for some reason was allowed out on parole. Regarding the cook/boyfriend who murdered his girlfriend, how naive does one have to be to believe that they are required to give a DNA sample when they are called in as a "witness". I keep hearing the words of Lt. Joe Kenda, cable's Homicide Hunter, who said, "Most criminals are kind of dumb and we like it that way. If they were smart it would make it a lot harder for us to catch them!"
Plus the fact that the video tried to credit this supposedly brilliant vidocq society for solving the case. When in actuality, all they did was say this "the girls fiance could be a possible suspect". Are the average American detectives so dumb, that they need a special society of geniuses to get this enlightenment.
Timothy Buss, the killer of Chris Meyers, was 13 years old when he killed his first victim. He was tried as a adult, the site also mentioned that he used to bragged to anyone/everyone how he killed the first victim. Being he was 13 years old, I guessing he was sent to Juvenile facility for his stay? Chris Meyer lived with his mother during the summer months in Illinois.
I am angry to our system, why on earth do you even let out of jail or paroled them... Good that it was pass to congress. A mother's grief and will forever remain...
When victims are young they should automatically get the death penalty. This way you don’t have to worry about a parole board putting the predator back on the streets.
Always walk your friends to their car. Watch them drive away Text you when they get home safely. It’s the least we can do for old friends They followed them from the bars!! He told his girlfriend?? Run Forrest Run Who let this creep out of jail!! Insanity
How can the woman get only 25 years in prison and boyfriend 10 years probation for murder without disclosing where the body is. That's not justice. Both should have got the death sentence, or life if they told where the body was.
Sexual predators should be punished extremely harshly - at the very least, they should be not be left intact. If severe punishments for DNA proven cases were followed through swiftly, there would be much less crime. Anyone who has a part in criminals being freed and then they commit another crime should also be held accountable. The government's one and only job is to protect citizens.
I watch Forensic Files wholly because of the science of the law enforcement offices, but also because I'm fascinated with law enforcement tenacity. Does law enforcement really collect the oil pan from a car to match it to the burns on the victim's body? Yes, they do. Again, I say, yes, they do! AMEN!. God bless them all! God bless all of the victims' families, too....
The verdict came from a judge that had no respect for the victim by not giving the murderers a death or life in prison sentence, instead just a slap on the wrist.
WTF murderous GF gets 20 years for killing her BF. Her other BF gets 10 years she'll be out in 12, and he'll walk after 6, AND they never revealed what they did with the body! REALLY?
We are all born ignorant and innocent, and we learn our ideas of good and evil. You should be careful about whom you allow to teach your children, and what they teach them.
When an adult takes the life of a innocent child for no other reason than perversion then they should forfeit their pathetic lives. If they go to prison, there's a chance they'll let them out later on down the line.
Laws must be changed. History has proven that child molesters can't be reformed. This is not the case with any other criminal. They either reform or age-out of the activity. 60 year old men are not climbing into house for burglaries, while 80 year old sex offenders continue to offend against the vulnerable. Reality, not sentiment or expediency, must determine law and punishments.
35 mins in the investigators are asking people if they recognize the sketch but miraculously in the same minute they all knew the perp after someone identified the sketch. Amazing.
DNA will solve so many crimes, we should either hav DNA samples on demand as in search warrants, you could get DNA "Search Warrants", or a Nationwide DNA database where every male has to giv a DNA sample, baby's DNA samples being taken as routine as part of the birth process.

Kill a child or hurt one hanging is the only way to insure they never hurt another child.
What if they get it wrong? It happens. Throw them in a cell and keep them there.
Ensure, not insure.
There are many other ways to end a person.
Yep capitol punishment n d penalty
Like old days public hanging
Death penalty for these sick predators.
How well things go when the public just do what they are really supposed to do: come forward with their knowledge and be vigilant and share whatever information they can.
Only when it's convenient
How well things go when cops actually put maximum effort and put all their resources into solving a murder. They put forth far more effort when it's a cop or cop's family member who is the victim.
Don't forget, they only solve about 6 of 10 murders, and it's almost always because someone tells them who committed the crime. They aren't very good at actually solving crimes. Their main function is to write reports about crime.
But yeah, that 6/10 rate goes to near 100% when a cop or family member is killed. Funny how that works.
@@ericalexander5890 you’re spot on. The average citizen and their information is generally what solves most crimes. Cops aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed. I’ve known a few who are on the ball but for the most part?🙄
"don't want to get involved"
@@TheresaLyonhart thats really offensive when you talk like that...maybe you are the one who isn't so sharp...finding facts and information takes questions and people willing to answer them, they don't just reach in to thin air and pull the answer out, General public don't do investigations the police do and they put the parts of the puzzle together to get the answers needed
Why would a parole board think they can let a murderer out on the street again. As if a killer can be rehabilitated.
More specifically a pedophile killer!
Especially a pedo murderer, there’s absolutely no fixing them.
I don't think there is anything on earth as painful as having your child missing for that long and ending in you finding out they were sexually Abused and murdered. God I hope the parents and family are able to heal from this horrific crime. Current prison conditions are too good for this type of heinous criminal. We need much harsher conditions for this type of offenders.
I don't think you would ever get over it. If you lost a child in an accident or due to a terminal illness, as difficult as it is, you might eventually be able to come to terms with it. But knowing that someone has deliberately taken the life of your son or daughter after inflicting torture upon them as well, I think the pain stays in your heart for the rest of your days and probably shortens your own life. I should add that I don't speak with any experience and could well be wide of the mark. Just an opinion.
There's what you might call "good ole boys" that are locked for life they usually make sure these most hated remember what they done everyday 🙏
One way would be to not let them have so many appeals! Just begin to start the sentence with no appeals! Now there is the fact some people are innocent because of crooked police or prosecutors who just want to get the case closed without good or planted evidence. But when it’s a definite crime then finish the sentence and put them to death within a reasonable amount of time! Maybe a year to five! This ridiculous amount of money and time of 20 years is unacceptable!
they need not parole anyone who murders on purpose, i can see giving someone parole is they accidently killed, but not someone who purposely killed.

Wow. These were great episodes. You learn something of great importance from each case. Thank you. I feel for the losses.
And imagine what it must have been like for the kids to stumble across a brutalized corpse.
I am not saying I know anything about her personal motivations, but given the kind of man this Bomar was, my hypothesis is that she was a victim of domestic abuse and was trying to survive herself.
That being said, well done forensics and detective work. Texas citizens need to change their laws regarding, no body, no searches, no requests for dna info from suspects.

South of Chicago or anywhere in the world, no 10 year old should be left alone unsupervised fishing or playing outside of a fenced yard with security cameras and adult watching. @@lisahinton9682 Animals do no feel "insulted" although people like you might feel insulted on their behalf. They do not know the difference between good and evil and cannot make moral choices. We call evil people "animals" metaphorically because these people act on their basic instinct and show no conscience (like animals). If you stand near a dog when it eats, it can bite you although seconds ago it had just seen you put food in its bowl. People can be very bad but most are good and some are very good. I am sure when you say "humans are the worst", you did not include yourself.
They are monsters, NOT animals!!! I agree with lisahinton9682, and as she says, please do not besmirch the good name of animals. Only humans commit crimes like this. I wish people would stop comparing the horrible human species to other animals; it is so misguided.
Animals do not have the capacity to feel offended and are not even aware that some people are offended on their behalf. We compare evil people to animals because they act on impulse /instinct rather than reason. A dog can attack if you are too close when it is eating even if it saw you giving it the food in the first place.
Child predators are a curse on this earth. I heard that other inmates will kill them in prison. A fitting end for them!

Most women get a slap on the wrist even for violent crimes AND murder... Poisoning..and most get patrolled in the first 10 years or less
Much agreed, the girlfriend 20yrs sentencing is a joke, felt sorry for scott family, scott father was a hero though
I love Joe. I’ll bet he was a great detective.!!!! I listen to all his stories.!!

This way you don’t have to worry about a parole board putting the predator back on the streets.

especially with a river which has a known track record of drownings...
How can the woman get only 25 years in prison and boyfriend 10 years probation for murder without disclosing where the body is.
That's not justice.
Both should have got the death sentence, or life if they told where the body was.
Requiring a body was a rule made before DNA. It should be relaxed,
We need to elect people to state/federal government who will improve our legal system.
My gosh 15 years to find it was the boyfriend after two minutes I knew who it was. Odd he went by her house that was a red flag surely

When an adult takes the life of a innocent child for no other reason than perversion then they should forfeit their pathetic lives. If they go to prison, there's a chance they'll let them out later on down the line.
Child sex offenders/killers should never get parole!
The system is failing us. How do you release a murderer to kill again?
