- What is the difference between DOV and the CIMEA Statements?
What does pre-enrolment mean? Why is it important?

What is declaration of value(DOV)? Why do Italian Universities ask for it? Where do you apply for it? What does the Declaration of value document contains? What happens if the university that issued your certificate is in a country that signed the Hague Apostille convention? Where do you request your declaration of value if you are a current resident of a country other than the one that issued your degree?

My school does not require DOV in pre-enrollment, only CIMEA and CIMEA website is proving so 🎉hard to be able to submit my documents, it keeps saying the slots are full. Can I go ahead for my visa without the CIMEA?

Hello Ann, thank you for all this information! I started my pre-enrollment after receiving my acceptance letter, Polimi in my case. However, the university requires me to upload the CIMEA or DOV certificate to accept the pre-enrollment. At the same time, the Italian embassy in my country requests the university's acceptance of the pre-enrollment as a requirement to process my declaration of value. What should I do in this case? Do you recommend obtaining the CIMEA diploma instead of the DOV?

Which country? You can get DOV without pre-enrolment summary but you must pay for it

You can’t get visa without a DOV. It’s a major requirement in the embassy’s list of documents

I graduated my Bsc from a foreign country and i stay in my country right now. I can't get the dov from the Italian embassy in the country I graduated from. I rather want to use statements issued by CIMEA.
The question is can I apply for Statement of comparability only ,Statement of verification only, or both ? I am abit confused

@@rodneywayne3869 I understand the situation. With the new CIMEA settings, you can't get statement of comparability or verification only, they can only be issued together. And of course, CIMEA process is bit more expensive and takes quiet more time than the dov.
What university are you going to ?
So basically, I don't need apostille and dov for visa application, if I have CIMEA?

@@KenechukwuFortune I didn't get any specific answer. But in my country apostille is required by Consulate. Dov and cimea are basically the same thing. Showing just one of them is enough. If your university requires dov for visa, then use dov. If not, you can use cimea instead.

Start the DOV process if it’s open in your embassy currently. Start by authenticating your educational documents at MOFA and MOE in your country

Please ma, am from nigeria and i appllied for pre enrolment to universitaly for study at University of Florence. The pre enrolment was successful and i got an email from universitaly that i should go process my study visa in abuja which am preparing for.
But i want to know if it's safe applying for the study visa since i didn't appy directly at the university of Florence website and didn't get an admission letter from them.
Note:
I emailed them, they said they have done what they need to from their own end. I asked them when the academic year or enrolment will start, they replied that it's only when my visa is approved, then i can apply for enrolment in italy.
