Couldn't get this to work: constant error messages when trying to save vector file despite following your advice. Uninstalling and not wasting any more time on it. ☹

Minimalistic maps with QGIS, that is definitely possible (as it can load all the layers from Openstreetmap). Are you interested in the video on how get the maps in QGIS or the process of editing that openstreetmap output in Affinity?
