Parboiling is a process of soaking, steaming and drying. The steps of bleaching and polishing are not a part of the parboiling process but rather a part of the milling process of rice. Milling or rice includes polishing (removal of bran to give the rice a whiter appearance).
Hi, Could you please clarify between endosperm and germ. In reality, after whitening process the remaining portion of what we consume on everyday basis is nothing but endosperm which has germ in it and this final component is 69% to 71% according to you. Am I correct?
Hi, The white rice content can range from 65-71% depending on the milling equipment, rice properties etc. The white rice does not include bran and germ. The reason only bran Is focused is because the brown colour of the rice is due to bran and bran has a high proportion (9-11%) as compared to germ (2%).

Hard rice is preferred to mill , but soft endosperm for in case of wheat , for seperation from Bran and Germ . What if we again hardened the wheat after softening and seperating would the yield increase or energy expenditure decrease
