​‪@olwenfoulkes7857‬ (recorder) plays Nicola Matteis' vivacious 'Ground after the Scotch Humour', accompanied by ‪@JonatanBougt‬ (guitar) and ‪@harrybuckoke‬ (viola da gamba). Born in Naples, violinist Matteis became a popular composer in 1670s London, renowned for his variations on 'grounds' - repeated bass lines, typical of the Baroque era. Filmed at the ‪@philipmouldco4360‬ Gallery for Classic FM, the ensemble performs before the work of another of Baroque London's eminent artists, portraitist Mary Beale.
