I'm considering this for my boy. I think the lit key method will be something he could follow intuitively. I learned piano the classic way, down the graded route (parental influence). I ended up bored to tears with having to persevere with the most boring songs on the planet. I ended up quitting. So my thoughts of this keyboard? Looks awesome and a fun way of learning, that might just keep you playing years on.
I agree, VF. This board puts fun into learning and covers more areas of music, mainly the software side of things which is of course a musical reality these days that shouldn't be ignored :) Gearfacts
At least by that time Casio were finally getting the hint that people buying a new keyboard expect it to have over 100 sounds so this was a step in the right direction. Yamaha used to have DJ mode on their entry level keyboards.
Good question. You'd have to look that up in the manual which is available on Casio's website. Some companies allow the use of their styles with no copyright restrictions, others make firm restrictions in their manuals :) #gearfacts
Good point, I think this is an area where Casio have really dragged their heels. Many models that are essentially the same. The only new thing here, really, is the dance music feature.

how can I turn off the key lighting function permanently on the casio lk35 without having to turn it on and then go to settings every time I wanted to turn it off

I agree. The sounds are kind of scratchy but not only that, they are often garish and very tasteless I think. Lucky there are some good bass parts in the dance rhythm section :) #gearfacts

I don't think the keys were touch sensitive (from memory, I could be wrong). Glad you liked the video :)

There's no bass boost function. I hear what you're saying though, the speaker output is very weak.

I found an lk-165 in the garbage yesterday. Cleaned it up, it's like brand new. I love it. It's a great practice keyboard, especially for the price. 😁
