I did some camping in the Kananaskis Country south of Calgary, Alberta and decided to make a video showing off my slingshot / slingbow attachment that allows me to shoot arrows out of my slingshot. You can also get an attachment to do some bow (slingbow) fishing.
I picked up some flu flu arrows from the bass pro shop because they are meant for shooting small game and birds as the long feathers on the back of the arrow slows down the speed of the arrow so you don't lose your arrows when you shoot up in the air.
I will be picking up regular arrows soon as I found the flu flu arrows slowed the flight too much.
This slingshot is good for hunting small game, I have killed a rabbit with it using 3/8 steel balls. I would prefer using larger balls but I don't know where to get them.
Other than the video I did some camping, had a fire, cut up some wood, made some food and relaxed. I was out with my dog Kilo and my girl friend.

In my prime, with a couple of cups of coffee in me, give me 30 yards, and I could have caught one of those arrows with one hand. :)

Shoot arrows with the small plastic vanes (feathers). Those big fluffy vanes are like parachutes.

If you attached multiple bands, would, do tou think you would add power or just break the springs n such?
Yeah, good idea to look at other arrows, glad you said that cause I was concerned. Those are meant for longbows only and nobody shoots arrows with such large fletchings in a slingshot or any modern bow (aside from a recurve and again that's still a longbow). They are also more expensive than other arrows, which are rather cheap and more plentiful. These large feathered fletching ones, are usually handmade=more expensive. But kudos for trying it, if anything could handle it, it would be a beast of a slingshot like that, lol.
It's an interesting design. I always thought the spring arms were for power, but apparently not, they are for stability. They are like the Swiss Army knife of slingshots, lots of accessories can go on them. Picatinny rail on the bottom, laser in front and fishing reel, these can get pretty crazy. I heard a good tip about shooting arrows with a standard slingshot leather (besides the bands included with some slingshots that can do both and the arrow uses a ball to hold onto behind the leather and a string running through the pocket for the knock to sit in).
This idea was really neat, dude in the comments of a sling bow video said he replaces the arrow knocks with golf tees?! And he loves it and it's super accurate. It seems perfect too, a good surface at the rear of the arrow you can grab right through the leather easily, nothing special required and it's light and won't affect the arrow negatively (and maybe even balances it better in flight?). The golf tee is a perfect shape for some steady and firm grip and perfectly tapered already to just tap into the back of an arrow after removing the knock, might not even need glue?
Yeah that's a good idea with the golf tee! I also bought an actual sling bow knock a year after I made this video lol still gotta put rubber on it but it but it has a good little grip to put it back as well
@@ThePioneerChannel I loved the idea and the bonus? It's already painted white, making your arrows easier to find in brush. And they come in other bright colours too. So easy to use and cheap and ready made. Now you got me thinking with your rubber idea.
What if one was to make rubber rings, out of some flexible enough rubber, but not too thin. Slightly bigger than the circumference of the top of the golf tee, then poke a hole in the middle and slide it up the tee to the top. Then install it in the arrow and this rubber, when you grab it and pull, wraps around the top of edge of the tee and acts like extra grip for it? Kinda similar to your idea.
Still super cheap to do too and I'm thinking multiple arrows and $$ here. It seems really economical and so simple larger scale.

Shoot with release aid. Use D loop. Replace flu-flu feathers. Anchor. :-)
ykzcohan I do have a release aid and a proper slingbow rubbers band with a nock haha all I need now is new arrows
those arrows are fine. Just trim those fluflu feathers back, because flu-flus have way too much drag. However it is better to shoot full length (31inches or so) arrows with slingbows. And don't forgot to anchor, like an archer. that's the most important thing for accuracy .
That looks like the Goldboy wristrocket I cant get that top screw in to hold the wrist support
From the looks of the fetching on those arrows they need trimmed down a lot, if that doesn't increase your arrow speed & accuracy then change them to the rubber vein type, also ditch the heavy blunt tips for some field or target tips
Yeah lol I bought them cuz they were supposed to be good for bird hunting... but they don't work too good with the slingshot.. I think they're meant for bows. I plan on re doing this video with the proper stuff.
Hey bud how do you like the accuracy and power of the slingshot with steel balls? To me with the arrows you either need longer ones or be able to draw it back further. The velocity seemed pretty weak. I'm not saying that it's your fault or anything of that nature. Just looking for an opinion. Thx.
Jeremy Riley it's pretty accurate with the steel balls... With the arrows lol I need a bit of practice. I just bought a proper slingbow rubbers with a nock so that should help.. but it shoots way better with regular arrows than with the ones I'm shooting in the video.
Jeremy Riley and when it comes to power.. this thing is a beast. I was able to kill a rabbit using 3/8 steel balls... But I'm going to go with 1/2 inch soon just for that extra stopping power. But this slingshot it pretty flexible for power adjustment.. you can get bigger bands and bigger springs which is awesome. Definitely recommend it.
Im fitting tjeraband gold when mine gets here 20mmto15mm tapered bands looped to shoot 7mm and 8mm lead should really hit hard af using flatbands
Quit holding your breath and relax. Take measured breaths and release on an exhale. This will steady you and greatly improve your aim.
Lol yeah I'm bad for holding my breath while shooting 😅 that's how they teach it for shooting guns so I do the same for slingshots
You should hold the ammo different and you will have a better release

Try pulling back more until your hand rests against your face. The flu flu's might fly a little better. Peak the tension out when you pull and you will get a faster bolt.
Jonathan Hargrove I'll give that a shot in the spring when it's nice out 😛 but I'll get actual slingbow rubbers with an arrow nock... and regular arrows. definitely gonna be a part 2 to this

I build my own but want to get a collection of factory slingshots got my bloodshot ordered this and another one with led illumination of the 3 fiber optics its a specific 10m target slingshot as i shoot competition aswell the two i won i won with hand cut bands pouch and a handmade slingshot made from an old 1.5inch thick choppingboard i can hit oyster shells at 25 meters with every shot nearly i mis one out of ten lol

why you got too many fletch?
The feather Will it not tear up against The metal rest?
sirhazze no, the rest is really flexible. but I recommend regular arrows for sure, the flu flu ones slow the arrow down too much.
What is the role of that coil spring?
Generates more torque to shoot it harder.
Been seeing this for about 130-160 usd. Think if you want to shoot arrows with it, you would have to change out the rubber.
Is there one more suited for shooting arrows?

The only thing different with them is rally only the rubber witch can be easly be replaced.
to be honest the Chief AJ HFX is the best slingbow hands down less than 100 $ easy too use and comes standars with pound bands and 30pond bands

I shoot catapults in competition and I'm not being rude but that looks like a piece of crap to me .
It shoots hard, but it's not as accurate as flat bands.. but it's actually well made.

Has anyone seen a chrony test of a Judge? you say 340fps butt....
They do Chrono test on video from the site i bought them from with different sized steel balls. check out slingshots-hunting.com and look for this slingshot and you'll see the chrono test on their page.

Feathers are to big, way to much drag, use an alloy shaft and low profile fletchings

@@ThePioneerChannel get a set of quad bands, you can get a realy good 40 - 50lbs draw. Will put a 3/4" steel ball, through an interior door at 20 paces. Scrap them girly bands and go for thera band gold or black. You can really crank this puppy up, to recurve levels 😍😍😍 lol
@@markhuckercelticcrossbows7887 that setup actually shoots harder then my flat band slingshot with theraband gold when I use any type of steel or led balls.. it's noticeably faster.. but I don't like to shoot anything bigger then 1/2 inch
@@ThePioneerChannel ive had mine now, about 3 years, I cant imagine going back to a y frame catty, I think the G3 is the best shtf back up, on the market. There are a few clones and knock offs, I bought one out of curiosity. Build isnt as good, spring angles non linear, but the g3 is solid and would definitely stop someone in there tracks, especially here uk, where a handgun is not an option. The next best thing.

You have to use rope type to notch the arrow , you done it wrong 🤣😂🤣 you don't know how to shoot properly. Remove leather used for shooting steel ball and use paracord for shooting arrow

Lol don't knock it till you rock it... I have many slingshots and flat band slingshot and this one is still at the top of my list. It shoots harder than all my other ones, only thing is my flat band is more accurate.
