  • Today let's learn how to produce 'tremble' vibrato, an instant vibrato when needed for short notes. Then we learn a great feeling and sounding exercise to control our vibrato while developing co-ordination with the bow. Mary V

I hope it goes well! It's one of those 'knacks' that really can stop our hands getting tight. Mary V

This is a great video thank you for posting it Mary V. I have a lot of trouble trying to get the tremor in the first place but I like the idea of using your hand and or acting so i’m going to do that like you suggested .

      Hello Katie!
I'm so glad you liked the video, thank you.
This tremble action can take a while to get the knack of, but at the same time, the tremble exercise is so good for out fingers that it's worth doing often anyway! Mary V

Hola Mary! Qué bien suena ese vibrato y qué buenos ejercicios! Poco a poco conseguiré mejorar! El vibrato es difícil...como todo en el violín 😉...pero merece la pena seguir experimentando! Mil gracias, Mary!👏👏👏👏👏💜🎶💜🎻

      Hello Lola!
That's very kind of you, thank you.
As you know, it can take quite a while to develop a really nice vibrato, and 'develop' is the right word as a vibrato comes in stages all the way from a small movement to a glorious full blooded wobble.
Yet we all know it is a real challenge to learn how to soften the fingers enough to constantly wobble - it's a strange little thing we're all obsessed about when you think about it!
Lola, again you've used that lovely word 'experimenting!' Thank you so much for your spirit and your inspiration. Mary V
