    Good stuff Paul, because of you I started my own ebay business, I am quite a ways off from where you are but seeing that you got where you are right now for the most part on your own gives me motivation! Keep up the good work.

    14.5k items listed is no joke. That is where choke hold is for my parts business. I just hired 2 listers this week

    I do mainly auto parts my self on the side out my house. Allot of older car parts. What I hate is when there is a established price or value on a particular part and some A hole comes in with a dump price of 25% of the actual value. This then turns around and devalues all the previous going prices for a long time on that particular part. Even on rare hard to find parts. If no price exists I set it based on prices a large company may be selling them for. If I'm the only one selling a part on ebay, I jack my price up as far as possible to reset an example. It usually sells but takes longer because people are cheap. lol

    Congratulations you and your wife Paul. That is a massive step up, the time spent planning and laying out the unit now will pay off many times over in the future, especially when you get some new hires in. Look after yourself and don’t get burnt out. Looking forward to more videos.

    Absolutely delighted to see this new video, Paul, and really, really glad to see the new building and the progress you have made. I'm an old man now, I got introduced to a lot of the auto salvage industry when I was just a teen, and I always marveled about how much valuable space and waste there was in the "junk yards" of yesteryear. You are on the right track for sure I believe, both business-wise and environmentally-wise. Keep up the good work, and keep all that you can within the family (kids should be taught the value of work and building things), and keep on truckin', no matter how hard it gets, there are many of us out there pulling for you.

    Do you go through your inventory every so often to toss out parts that don’t sell? How long do you wait? Do you prepackage any parts so they’ll be boxed and ready on the shelf so to ship all you do is slap a label on it? I have a very similar business and I have a building in crane and one in Carthage (Missouri). What about outside storage? How much land do you have? Why not store body parts and glass outside? You’re killing it! Keep it up!

    Great to see this update, congrats! Would be curious what you got to in terms of revenue per month to make you comfortable enough to do this move to more space. Also, what happened with the employees as it seemed like you were very glad to do it when you did before and said you wish you had done it way sooner. Either way, looks great!

    • @partsthatfit349
      @partsthatfit349  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im definitely not comfortable. It’s a huge risk that I’m willing to take that has its payouts.
      I would keep my old employees as they already knew the system and how to run things. Some of them have moved on to new things. Also we moved quite a ways out from the city it not convinced for them to drive so far. Once i organized all the shelf’s and ready to part out new stuff I’ll find some local here.

      I get a ton of my boxes/shipping supplies from Facebook marketplace, or the recycling bins in my apartment complex. If you’re selling less than 10 items a day I’d say it’s a viable (and cost effective) way of going about it

    • @eastcoastcars2000

      @@devdoesauto Thanks that is also what I do. You can literally go to any retail store and check their dumpsters in the back and they have a ton of boxes and packing material but I sell car grills and I need like specific 38 x 12 x 8 inch boxes because as you all know when boxes get that big the shipping is insanely expensive and inches matter.
