I had the great fortune of working at Melody Record Shop in Newark and Irvington NJ during my high school years and college. I worked at these stores from 1974 to 1980 and also got the opportunity to DJ at several clubs during this same period. Now, at 62 I have come to realize how lucky I was to be able to hear all this great music all those years. Disco Cat, I appreciate that you musically keep the song in tact and compose the remix around the original score. You are truly a genius. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for keeping these songs alive for our future generations to hear.
I certainly remember this creative genuis in the early 70's, specifically, his extensive work with Donna Summer. Years later, he was involved with movie soundtracks. His electronic wizardry, and his talents with synthesizers are very creative and impressive. Thanks for playing this song from this "Icon" from the 20th century !!!
Absolute gem, where you have respected the original and introduced your own elements. As usual very good. Worth a night at a space age disco in 1977, when the world was simpler.
What's awesome about this music is that there is actual rythem and symphony. You can actually boogie to this song. I really hate new house music as it is so intrusive in its sound. It's like a spam pulses to create a rise and drop effect compared to putting in the effort to create such effect through the harmony and melody of more subtle and diverse instruments. My personal opinion is that new house music is awesome when you are completely off your rockers. Otherwise it really is not enjoyable in the slightest.
@@al5612 I really disagree. Yes you might not like the 'new' popular tech house. But there is still a lot of amazing new stuff coming out. You just have to know which artists to look for. If you're into disco look at Glitterbox, they bring out some cool stuff

I still have Giorgio Moroders early albums on vinyl including the Giorgio & Chris album containing his version of Whiter Shade of Pale which pre dates this album & spawned a couple of minor hit singles in Europe but not here in the UK. From Here To Eternity has had quite a few remixes notably one by Danny Rampling, (or is it Tenaglia, I always get the 2 mixed up?), which is excellent, however none can beat the original full length version. Having said that, this remix/reworking you have produced is extremely faithful to the original version & I'm sure that if GM heard it he would agree. Thanks for ALL your remixes Cat, they're genuinely appreciated. Take care. Cheers, Clive.
Remember these tracks. EDM was a hype and nightclubs were jam packed especially in the 80’s and 90’s. Giorgio was instrumental and influential in bringing electro to the dance floor.

Giorgio Moroder has never gotten the attention he deserves as a composer because 1) he works in electronics rather than traditional orchestral instruments and 2) he aimed for the cheap seats by creating popular music instead of more high-brow classical or avant-garde material. Who could have known he was seeing the future?
I love your stuff mate I've noticed there isn't any remixes for giorgio moroders song it's called in my wildest dreams is that something you could do my first thought was you could do a brilliant extended version mate
he'd come a long way from "Son of my Father", but every significant movement in art had worthy stories behind its move forward, unintentional or otherwise. "From Here to Eternity" if only that was ever what he was know for would be amzaing, but his work with Donna Summer and Sparks the bubble to the top shows he had much to provide the electronic dance music field than the EDM acronym alone. Thank you for doing this one.
A real pioneer... does not get his dues compared to all the other electronic guys/groups... the analogue drum sounds on this are beyond anybody at this point... conception/production is flawless and so futuristic... Utopia Me Giorgio is especially brilliant. I remember Giorgio putting out some of the multitrack on Soundcloud years ago and it did sound like he had some kind of filtered/phased/flanged congas going at points so was not sure it was all totally electronic... all the same... amazing stuff and almost 50 years old at this point...
I never know Giorgio Moroder had his own songs until I was listening to Studio 54 radio a few months ago in my car. Baby Blue is 1 of my favorite songs!
Funky Synthi Breakbeat Space-Ambient Tech-Electro-Trance with SFX avant-la-lettre. And some vocoder ecstacy and angelic female vocals as well. Delicious!
You'll be doing more extended mixes for Donna Summer's Once Upon a Time? This album is simply amazing, her best work, I would love to hear extended mixes of the first seven songs that are the best of her entire career, principally Now I Need You and the title track.
Moroder has been the unique and only pioneer in the electronic dance music. He was the forerunner: the maestro of this genre. For instance, the 1970s "progressive disco fever" wouldn't be existed without his skilful effort and genius. Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager, as fast as possible, understood (in April i977) what the Studio 54 would have been without this pulsing new modern sort of a distinctive gig onto the hardwood,/parquet multi-social gathering spot. It's all history.
