This is a tribute cover of Erma Franklin's original song (sister of Aretha), which was also covered by Janice Joplin. . I had the opportunity to see JJ sing it twice ,and unfortunately ,she was either drunk or high both times,which didn't make for a good performance. Melody's version is crisp ,concise ,and considering she was 18 at this gig very professional as were her siblings . FANG4LIFE RORH
Great reaction of this cover of an Erma Franklin song which she did about 1 year before Janis did it Melody in my opinion does it better than Janis her range is insane . if you get a chance checkout Ermas version she was Arethas sister.

The Warning is OK but is just average to below average singing without autotune. They sound like a high school talent show winner.
@@strykerace3192 no. Liliac is a talent .show band. The Warning is the real deal. No auto tune real talent. Get your hearing checked
You are nuts if you think that The Warning doesn't use auto-tune. All you need to do is look at their earlier videos and know that the lead singer sounds like a metal Taylor Swift who also is a mediocre singer. I am not trying to take anything away from TW. They can certainly play and I think they found a niche at just the right time. However, their following is mostly in Mexico and the Southern Latino countries and Lord knows that they have rubbed elbows with the some great R&R Icons as well. As far as talent show band, Liliac was around and smashing the rock scene long before AGT and the TWB shows. They were also good enough and smart enough with Papa as Manager to quit when the show tried to rape them of creative control. Any cover that they have done is as good or better than the originals and that is saying a hell of a lot based on the company they keep and have played with. Both Bands hold merit but in the end, I for one have to lean towards Liliac being the more talented and the band with more staying power for the future, It is like trying to compare KISS to Josie and the Pussycats. I listen to TW and I just feel like I am listening to some little girls that are singing Karaoke to some decent metal. Listening to Liliac is like listening to something great that comes along about as often as Haley's Comet. NOBODY sounds like Melody but Melody herself and Sam...............OMG! That dude is a guitar master beyond imagination. If you took a little piece of the greatest guitarists in history and channeled them into one person, it might well be Sam Cristea.
@@strykerace3192 the warning have opened for big bands like the foo fighters , g&r, muse, three days grace ,halestorm. Liliac is nothing more than a glorified cover band. Who's daddy is controlling thier lives because he's a failed musician..

At 17 she did a better job than Janis Joplin did but nö one does it better than Erma Franklin did it.
Erma Franklin did a good bluesy version but it still doesn’t have the grit of Janice
You of course have to do the original Janis Joplin version. I'm old.
But Janis is much better.
Original is actually done by Erma Franklin. Janis Joplin covered it.
