The most impressive part of the story I like was Judah was shamed when Tamar revealed she was pregnant with his child, and he admitted she was more righteous than he was.🙏🙏🙏
I found you on line . I really appreciate the break down of the chapters . You are helping me understand each charter as break them down everyday . Please don’t stop . This has been very helpful !

So I’m struggling. Jacob can do whateverrr he wants to his brother Esau and be blessed by god and now his sons get SLAUGHTERED BY GOD for doing a way less grubby act?!!! Jacob is a soy boy and I am truly struggling to see how god didn’t agree
I kind of agree with you. If you look at the life of Jacob, he definitely does some scummy things. But I'm not sure we are meant to see Jacob as a hero or as an especially moral man. I think we are to see how God used Jacob, even with all his sins, to accomplish his plan. I think its a story of how God works through imperfect people.
Dude....yall are so delusional its actually ridiculous and yall are cool with things like this in the book as long as you feel you are going to heaven...I use to believe but holy cow I didn't know it was this bad and messed up im not really sure how yall could continue to follow even when you make the excuse of it was genesis and we don't follow that...like tf
Tamar knew she had to keep the bloodline pure, Judah having married outwith his tribe, therefore the sons were the problem, hence God killed them. When Judah's wife died and Shelah had come of age, Tamar knew what she had to do. Tamar must have been a pure bloodline. Just like Noah, who was righteous in his generation, Judah actually tells us Tamar was righteous also, more so than himself who had not kept his generation pure.
Judah hesitated to have his youngest son, Shelah, marry Tamar due to his fear that she might bring death upon him like his brothers. Tamar took matters into her own hands when Judah did not fulfill his promise to give Shelah to her in marriage. She deceived him by posing as a prostitute and tricked him into sleeping with her, leading to her becoming pregnant with twins. Judah reaped what he sowed.
"Bring her out, and let her be burned" was told by Judah not by Jacob
Good catch... I need to fix that PDF. Thanks!

Onan was a destiny killer... follow the descendants from Judah closely, you'll understand why God was that angry
