Correction-Background checks are not conducted by the shop owners. But it’s an automated process initiated by the shops, also called FLL using form 4473 on NCIS run by FBI. It took me like 7-10mins. Even faster for future purchases. Happy to add any firearms related info. At least in Texas you cannot buy a firearm without Background checks. Now there is a gun show loophole and used sales.
If you have a Concealed Weapons Permit, 4473 has exclusion criteria for not initiating background check. You can complete the 4473 form at your FFL and take possession of your legally purchased firearm immediately with your CWP. Check out your state laws for mandated trainings and timeliness for getting your Concealed Weapons state. Support your local NRA listed firearms instructors, they will help you with the CWP.
@@justinjoseph129 Yes that is right a CCL, concealed carry license will allow to avoid background check, but again you cannot receive a CCL without a background check, mandatory training and proficiency test in the first place.
I am not happy Texas removed these restrictions. More people who are not trained and don't know how to handle firearms will be carrying them.
@@ajojoseph6052 Arizona is a constitutional carry state. There is no correlation between it becoming one in 2010 and increases violence. I am happy that TX removed impediments to carrying firearms. Chicago has strict restrictions on carry, as if criminals follow laws.

The truth is, majority of the Americans irrespective of party lines, be it Democrat or Republican, are not in favor of gun control reforms. Simple is that. That’s the REALITY. It’s BEYOND party lines.
There are more deer hunters in Pennsylvania (the state I live) than many armies in the world. All those peaceful, responsible gun owners will never give up their guns. Since both the ‘president’ ‘vice president’ and all sworn elected officials gave a sworn oath to defend the Constitution, any breach of that oath is TREASON. Both could be immediately tried and impeached, and probably should be.
Why is that so?!
The Second Amendment (Constitution of United States of America) solidifies one of America’s most fundamental freedoms - the right to keep and bear arms - in just twenty seven words.
In short, the Second Amendment states that as an American citizen, you have the individual right to arm yourself. The amendment also firmly establishes that the government cannot infringe on that right.
An average American is not willing to make compromises when they feel like “government” is trying to infringe their rights. Police officers are for “law”enforcement and not to act as “feelings” enforcers. The Fourth Amendment of the constitution protects against unreasonable searches and seizures.
The Founding Fathers felt that citizens should be able to protect themselves against the government and any other threat to their wellbeing or personal freedom. Yes, you read that right! Right to own guns, and the same guns to be used against government, if ever needed.
They believe, the bigger the government, smaller the citizen.
In democracy, we elect our representatives to serve us, and not to rule. See the point? There is no “ruling” party in America. There are no ministers. There are only secretaries. Secretary of Defense, Secretary of Education etc. Secretary to whom? People’s secretary.
We The People.
See the point? “We the people” and not about “more of government”. In democracy, why would we elect our representatives to “rule” us? Isn’t that an irony? This is the fundamental thought process of Americans. Be it any party.
I live in a small township of around 25,000 people. The township police force is only around a dozen. However, there are over 50,000 guns here, all owned by civilians.
However, I have yet to see a civilian walking around with gun though it’s legally allowed to carry around.
There are around 500 million guns and about 60,000 dedicated gun stores in America. The USA population is only a little over 300 million. And all sorts of guns are available for purchase, from simple rifles to fully automated machine guns.
It is impossible to take away guns from Americans. They see that as a threat to their very fundamental liberty. Be it any serving party.
It’s not just about guns. The Fourth Amendment of the constitution protects against unreasonable searches and seizures.
Is it all just about civilians owning guns? No
Civilians can buy tanks or fighter jets as well and it’s not uncommon. Nothing prevents them buying! Recently an F-16 fighter plane was purchased by a civilian in Florida for just 8.5 million dollars (just the cost of a decent California home) There are also lots of amateur to semi-professional rocket builders in America. Recently a rocket built by college students as a project (University of Southern California) reached space. As we all know, Rockets are nothing but missiles. 😊 A privately owned SpaceX company is going light years ahead when it comes to innovation and exploration.
NOTHING in America is owned by government. Not even a nut and bolt factory for American defense. The country thrives on open market and free market enterprise.
Less of Government, More of People.

Also you didn’t touch up on the main issue with mass shootings, the assault type rifle AR-15s and high capacity magazines. These are not fully automatic weapons but semi autos. I have used these and they are extremely easy to use and can be precise over long distances. That’s where the major issue is. Except for a few states, There are no major restrictions on purchase of these weapons. No age limit and no waiting period, no training required . Plus Texas now removed even concealed carry restrictions.
