I have only been kayaking for just over 3 years and it seems that march and early April tend to be fairly windy. Trust me though, when it gets 100+ degrees you will want a breeze🥵. I feel you though. I got beat up in sabine by 17mph winds today.
@@bottomlinefishing3718 true that I just can’t deal with the 17 mph winds. Is it bad back in the marshes? I’m planning on fishing the Sabine area as well but I still need some things like anchor trolley anchor and drift sock
@@bloodOntheStep well it all depends on how familiar you are with your kayak. I started off with a pelican 10 footer and I learned that 12mph was generally the max for me. With my new kayak though (pedal kayak), I can handle about 20 before it gets very difficult. If you are in the marsh it isn't too bad. Some places in sabine have 10ft tall marsh grass that blocks out almost all of the wind which is nice for those windier days. If you have a southern wind, I would recommend keith's lake. There is a launch on the southeast side of the lake and there is a nice marsh that can hold good flounder trout and redfish. You might see a gator there, but they are generally skittish.
@@bottomlinefishing3718 I think I know exactly where you are talking about I just didn’t know if I could park there. Recently scouted it out on google maps just kinda still getting used to kayaking but I do hope to make a trip there on my next time out hopefully I can catch something
Me neither I’ve spent the last year bringing back an old 22ft Cajun. Doing my best to make it new again. Paid 1200. For the boat motor and tandem trailer and change out the old 150 with a newer motor. That I can get down to 9 mile in half the time. Hey love the videos hope to meet you and the other two wackos on the water some day. Best wishes to you and your Lady.
FYI Filmed before the freeze!
Bet y’all are regretting taking 21” redfish to the house after that freeze.
Great vid! Thx for sharing...
Beautiful sunset!! Keep sharing!!! Happy fishing!! 🎣
Great Fishing

When’s the wind gonna stop blowing so much I’m a new kayak fisherman

What popping cork was your buddy using on his bait caster?
So how do you like the boat?? Ive been looking at shoalwaters and was curious how the ride and stability is? Have you gone super shallow with it yet??
Love it! Runs pretty skinny, haven’t really pushed the limits yet
It has been grinding lately. The little ones are around.

This video was probably filmed before the freeze.
