Sorta Reminds me about how birds make a nest out of sticks of one or two stick at a time, so i could belive that a mud dauber could aswell. just with spiders instead of sticks
The spiders are paralyzed by the venom of the wasp, and are essentially in an induced coma, but very much alive. Spiders and wasps gots big problems with each other
I got to see the inside of a common wasp nest this year. Had two nests on our property and one of them got absolutely shredded by something. No idea what could have or would have shredded it, it was hanging in a hedge. But it was kinda cool to see, the comb bit that had fallen out still had live larvae in it. The wasps didn't care about the shredding, they just went right on to rebuilding the nest. We did spray both nests though, common wasps are a fucking nuisance to say the least.
Like the ending of this story lol but were they paper wasps? I dont know why but I have always been scared of bees but when it comes to paper wasps they are pretty chill. Dont know why or mabye its just me but they have always seemed a lot nicer than bees.
I was gifted an abandoned wasps nest. I accidentally broke it in a few places during a move, years ago. Now it's the best smelling thing in my house. I think the shell was made with maple, or some other sweet smelling leaf. I love it.
*You know in another dimension, there's a human-sized insect cutting away at a bug-sized human's abandoned house to show its larva what the inside looks like.....*
This is an amazing video. I can’t imagine but I have to appreciate all the work that must have gone into it. Imagine waking up in a pitch black room paralyzed with a bunch of other paralyzed people. You start to realize there is a monster slowly eating people starting at the other end. There’s nothing you can do but listen to the ripping and munching as it slowly gets louder and closer. Those poor spiders 😅
God I love this channel... the entire video is so fascinating, and I love the piano and music in the background cuz it reminds me of watching Mr Rogers when I was a kid in the 80's.
God, I love this channel, too! Thank you for the blessings in the wonderful world You created for us. We messed it up through our rebellion, but You still bless us!!
It feels so nice to watch this, it has a kind of educational episode vibe, like when i used to watch as a kid.. this brought back memories and was really interesting to watch, keep it up :D
it looks like the bald faced hornets abandoned the nest for some reason, and mud daubers like building their nests in open cavities- its a safe space to leave your babies, most animals dont want to mess with a wasps nest!
There's a problem with this... I always appreciate the hard work and care and love you put in your channel. I'm following you for a long time now and love the way you make your videos. But one thing bothers me a lot, wich is the reason I have to dislike this video: at least one of the animals was still alive (the larva at 01:34). That means the nest was still intact when it was removed from nature. Yes, is was abandoned by the hornets, but it was still part of the ecosystem. Removing it from there hurt the environment and got animals killed, even if it's "just insects". Insects are crucial for the survival of thousands of species. I think this is a very wrong thing to do, even for educational purposes, and I dont want to support this. PLEASE think about this. Animals are fascinating, but nature is fragile - especially today - so we need to respect it as much as possible. Starting with small stuff like this helps. Even if it doesnt feel like it. Thanks
Bald faced hornets are some of the craziest insects I've ever ran into. I was hiking in the woods one day and just started getting bombarded by these guys. I respect their aggression lol
Few years back we had a similar nest in our rolling shutter box. I think it belonged to the oriental hornet. We had to wait till winter to be able to get rid of it, it was the size of a football with the same outer layers and three layers inside with the columns. Oh boy they gave us nightmares.
mud daubers build nests absolutely EVERYWHERE on our house. it's so creepy breaking the nests off and all the spiders fall out 😖 from what i understand, the spiders aren't dead!! the mud dauber venom paralyzes them to be consumed alive by the larva 😨
Which books do you use/have? I am interested in reading some and I am sure other may be interested to know some of the books to understand more about some species
I have a paper wasp nest attached to my garage window which has been abandoned. I have mud wasps that make adobe tunnels against my brick outdoor walls every year. I have a ground yellow jacket nest under my steel deck which I will have to destroy after the weather gets below freezing or I will not be able to use my back door.
My two encounter with wasp nest ... Is hot water to kill whatever is inside before cleaning the larvae and stuff ... So disgusting But still had to do it ....
What’s inside? Pain On a more serious note I am fascinated by mud daubers cuz I like to see them bob their thoraxes on the ground every time they walk. However cleaning up their breeding tubes, whether it’d be on a curtain rod or porch, is always a pain
Back when I was a child, I tore down a wasp nest that laid on the floor. I opened it and I feel nauseous because it looked weird. Now I am watching this, and I feel nauseous, with a little bit of flashbacks.
You toom something scary as a wasp nest and created some beautiful art by dissecting it. Not gonna lie, some of the shots in this video migh be printed and hang as some educational art
... I really hate wasps and I'm really not good with insect corpses, especially cause they always don't really look dead and I have to convince my brain that they WON'T suddenly start moving again, so that larva creeped kinda the shit outta me qwq BUT I was so captivated that I had to pause my game after a few seconds cause it's REALLY good to watch these and I just love it. The background music takes me back to my early childhood.
yes! Funny that's exactly what i thought!
Same
very Mr. Rogersesque, pretty calming
It reminds me of Little Bear.
Nice!!

@@bisel2323omg fr😮😂❤😅
Absolute horror finding the spiders
I'm not a fan of bees and spiders I'm an enemy of them so the whole thing was scary
Inside a wasp nest is obviously a portal to the third wasp generation
Breh
NUH UH! It obviously goes to the 5th wasp generation
@@Calvin-b7cfr
Whaaaat
Agreed
How does the mud dauber catch so many spiders and stick them into that pod??? Picturing them catching and carrying one spider at a time is crazy.
Sorta Reminds me about how birds make a nest out of sticks of one or two stick at a time, so i could belive that a mud dauber could aswell. just with spiders instead of sticks
Also it helps that the dauber paralyzes the spiders as well, makes them easier to control.
The spiders are paralyzed by the venom of the wasp, and are essentially in an induced coma, but very much alive. Spiders and wasps gots big problems with each other
Bruh they've got nothing else to do 😂
What's Inside a Wasp Nest?
Wasps mostly.
Hazard to guess.
Psyche its spiders!!!
Surprise! Spiders!
i bouta say that 💀
Crazy how physically repulsed i am by this
your survival sense is working fine
Yet you couldn’t stop watching right? 😅 I was cringing at the close ups of him opening those pods….. but I love his show

I’m so glad you broke it down so that I could understand it better so thank you
I work in pest management. Ive seen these mub dauber wasps joink spiders from their webs when going to spider infested homes
Brilliant explaining and very calming for children to learn and love nature
how is the branch the nest is attached to already so aesthetically pleasing

How is bro so calm 😭😭
Most interesting unboxing video. Very informative!
This is extremely fascinating
I appreciate this video (and channel as well) greatly. It’s good to learn something knew, everyday.
Why are there different types of wasps or hornets in the same nest?
it looks like the bald faced hornets abandoned the nest for some reason, and mud daubers like building their nests in open cavities- its a safe space to leave your babies, most animals dont want to mess with a wasps nest!

Obviously entomophobia warning (fear of insects), but also a surprise arachnophobia warning near the beginning
I didn’t know, Mr. Rogers did a wasp nest segment!
This is fantastic as always. In your opinion, was this nest designed by an intelligent agent?

I have a question what books do you use to identify insects
What happend to the baby mud douber which was still alive?

Wasps. Next.
Wasps chew up leaves to make their nests, so their nests are pretty much just made of paper.
Blud faced hornet is the craziest name
This fish is strange and doesn't look like a fish.
Great Video.
Small note. You got the male (drone) and female wasps backward. The males are smaller and have shorter wings.
