Very pleased to hear this. I get stressed out over almost everything. The most recent thing was losing my passport in Madeira and having to extend stay by 9 days. Thankfully I do not have any family commitments at home. Applying for an emergency travel document … no way can it be called an ETD when it can take up to 8 working days to reach you. Also, the online application has contradictory info throughout and adds to stress. There is no meaningful consulate assistance for U.K. citizens post Brexit in Funchal. They used to assist in ETDs and you will still find this info as being current on a google search. Only after much trudging around Funchal and phone calls here and there do you realise the only way is to apply online via Gov.U.K. The nearest British Consulate for Madeira is in Lisbon. So, if that experience worked every last nerve of mine I think going through what you have been through would have killed me. By the way …. Do you two body build? X
