    After careful study of your game vs my recent games, I have come to the conclusion that one really key method to getting better at chess is spotting blunders half a second *before* playing them, instead of after. 😛 I wonder if TH-cam has implemented the feature where skills can be absorbed through the screen. I'll have to keep watching to find out.

    Enjoyable game. Reminds me of Morphy vs. The Duke of Brunswick, (Paris Opera 1858), where Morphy got through half a box of Coco Pops.

    Well played! Very nicely done. I think you're definitely improving in terms of catching mistakes before they happen more often.
    In terms of feedback for the channel, I wish to gently put my vote in for not eating on video :)

    I wish you would go to a larger time limit. Remember that you have to take time out to talk through your plans, your opponent isn't doing that so you need a little longer to think, that will help your board vision.

    I'm going to go out on a limb here and say this is an 18-1900 rated player masquerading as a 1200. If I'm wrong so be it and you will undoubtedly reach a high elo. No disrespect, just a hunch

    I dont think you were supposed to use opposition in that case... In that case, youre supposed to connect your outside passed pawns in such a way that the backward pawn is protecting the forward one. And then just leave the pawns there and hunt the other pawns. If the opposition king goes for your connected passed pawns and takes you backward pawn, the forward pawn is too quick to promote to a queen. If the other king tries to protect the other pawns youre hunting down you just push your Outside passed pawns

    You should play a 15/10 game. You would have more time to think. By the way you are helping me improve my chess. I now stop and try and look at all the moves. I now say if I move here this happens....... It seems to be working. Thanks to you I have learned the Pirc Defence and getting quite good results with it so thank you.

    This is pretty nitpicky, but just something I noticed. In the notation, if say a bishop moves to b5, that's notated as Bb5, and I think it's pronounced as "bishop b5" as opposed to just "b5". The latter would only be true for pawns since pawn moves are not prefaced by anything.

    Why do you never consider taking en passant

    • @KenFullman
      @KenFullman 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There was no point in this game where he had any opportunity to take en passant.

      Eh yes there was but my point is really more general. I don't think I've ever seen a game where he even considers it
