Dear sir. I enjoyed the video, as I have enjoyed many other of your videos in the past. With the upmost of respect, I just wanted to remind you that the word 'unique' can not be modified. @@edwardpaddock2528 With all due respect, that's an awfully pedantic comment. There are many elements of the game that are indeed "unique", so his use of the term is, in fact, correct.
@@edwardpaddock2528 something can indeed be "very unique" by being the top percentile within an already exclusive group (an example would be billionaires who are the 1% of the 1%). Granted idk how anyone can look at this game and call it unique or even very unique as it isn't really either. Seems pretty safe to me.
My issue after a solid bit of time in the game is that for all the interesting enemies they feel too few and far between, and they're also almost entirely braindead in my experience. For reference, the house monster has no enemies within it, you just start the encounter and then shoot a couple of items and it'll drop back down and give you a chest. Unless there are varients I hadn't seen it was honestly cool for a second and then boring. As mentioned though it's f2p so give it a shot. But I think this might be like a ton of other games on the market, better to wait another 6 months and let them iron out bugs and make much needed improvements.
Yeah that's my issue too. I love the look and theme of the monsters, but none of them feel threatening. And they don't have unique AI behaviours to really make the world feel alive.
In order to keep expectations at bay it is important to note that the map is not all of what you see. In phase 1 only like 25% is available... when phase 2 hits and the game gets "All areas unlocked" You gain like 20% more. So basically, right now, the whole game gives access to like %45 of the map. And I'm afraid the rest might never be unlocked since I noticed that some story "instances" teleport you to some areas in the map that are not normally available (typical for games) so... the area that is not available might be already in use by story instances, dungeons and as scenary for the Silos and monolith intances
By their latest Q&A it looks like each seasion will have different scenarios but is not clear if they are talking about regions of the map or a new map because they said the current season ha e to scenarios already... if they mean region then is possible that we get deployed to the other side of the map, that is unaccessible right now, for the next season. This is just my speculation though
got just over 50 hrs in this game so far, i really like it. it's not perfect, just like any game, but the vibes are good, gameplay is addictive, and i'm looking forward to what they do in the future as long as it stays not ptw.
@@graymanes1297 yep way too much free time but not repetitive grind yet. and if i manage 100 plus hrs out out of a free game, i feel that's pretty damn good. but to each their own.
But even if there was no wipe you'd be god tier any time new content came out (even though it does get harder some people are max lv in phase 1 because they no life it). You'll get bored easily at max lv before the end of the season stuff has a chance to release and complain then. :/
6 week is too short for the season anyways. And I hate these time limits, they try to make people to buy stuff to get the game even played through in 6 weeks. If you lose all your progress after 6 weeks, whats the point putting time and effort and maybe even money to this game in the first place.
People can say whatever they want about this game but i love it, cosmetic only cash shop, extremely varied enemys to face which is awesome, a fun world to explore, build, survive all in a persistant world is something ive wanted for so long and i love it.
Honestly I like the game as well, however the world just feels rather bland for me, and you end up doing identical tasks throughout the game most of the time. I like the upgrades and different rewards you get by playing, but was slightly disappointed by how grindy it is, especially when looting different areas.
well this game spies on about every component your computer touches but it's alright he totally wouldn't brush over that because it's a sponsored review.

the thing that confuses me the most is that if a youtuber cover this the game looks way better and less mobile esque then when i play it, even on the highest possible graphics
This dude has a top notch computer with the best components in the market and the best 4K screen with optimal configuration. His rig is worth several thousands and it shows.
TH-camrs whose primary source of revenue are their PCs generally run best possible config. Something like over 9,000 gigs ddr 5, rtx 4090, ryzen 7 7800X3D (or Intel equivalent, wtfever that is), 4+ gigs fastest damned solid state storage, water cooled, 1.21 gigawatt PS, 4K Oled wide screen three monitor setup, audio/video mixing, and some may even splurge on 15 additional screens that display such useful info as temps, clock speed, fave waifu, and script points plus all stream chats/functions. Throw in editing software, and you have around 10 grand in total power to hopefully counter TH-cam compression. 2 years ago, I had a 3080, 64 gigs RAM, 12th gen i9 12900K, 4 gigs ssd, and more than enough power. Average monitors, though. Shit looked gorgeous. Looked like crap uploaded and live it still paled in comparison to TH-camr uploads.
@AdamIsUrqed I wish it was 10k. I know you didn't mean it as an exact number. You are absolutely correct tho, I own 3 studios. Just 1 is about 14k-17k worth of hardware baseline, software over the last 14 years easily 50k (all the plug-ins tho) and the reference monitors are 10k each. TH-cam can easily get to 10k without employees.
Was given the game, paid to talk about it, given a character to skip the grind and asked to not talk down about it. Sure honest review.... come on man.
"was given the game"... was given an early build of a F2P game... what an advantage he got... "paid to talk about it" is this your first sponsor video ever? "given a character to skip the grind" did you want a 3 hour video farming wood? wtf did you expect to be shown? I guess you never watched a trailer before, because there they pick and choose the best parts to show you. "asked to not talk down about it" where did you pulled this of? out of your ass? He literally said he can talk freely about whatever he wants, either good or bad. Let me guess did you wanted him to talk about TOS like the other sheep online?
I dig this game. I want to see a bit more come out before I start sinking a bunch of money into it. I have been thinking about it though lol. I will say, when I played for 9 hours last night, I was far off from that house that was alive and I could see it walk off into the fog lol. It was pretty wicked lol.
I love this game so far 40 hours in. My biggest complaints being that we can't progress further atm due to the way the game works and not being able to select more than one sode quest at a time
Luke I watch all your videos but this one ain't it man yea you may have been able to say what you want but you very much obviously didn't try the game you didn't even know you could glide something all players have at the start the fact the bus deviant isn't hostile etc etc. It's obvious af you have no idea what your talking about and comes off as a shill for the game. And that sucks because the game is actually genuinely good I love it I just can't sit here and say this "review" is good your obviously shilling for money.
@Jonathan-Pilkington nice description of why u dislike it! It's a really good and engaging game that mix 3 genres of games so well that the pacing doesn't fall short because you always have something to do
This is kinda crazy the more I think about it. I think we all like Luke's content, but it's kinda wild to think that he didn't know about such a significant part of the game. The model of sponsoring a reviewer and giving them a suped-up character makes no sense in itself, but it doesn't justify recommending a game that you really haven't actually played. Even if he wandered around and shot some guys for a while, he clearly didn't do a lot of exploring, gather materials, etc. It's kinda lame
@viciousmonkey1992 yup my thoughts exactly suped up character or not. If you play the game it's very obvious just watching him play he doesn't know what he is doing which gives off the impression he never really actually tried it.
Luke is entitled to his opinion. And this isn't a proper review, either. It's okay to disagree, dude. You don't need to be all offended because someone felt different with their experience.
Please Luke, get a mesh in front of your mic! I'm watching your videos with tv and home theater and my Subwoofer is going CRAZY when you speak and spit on the mic. I love your videos, but the family gets upset when the house is cracking up while watching you speak. :D

There is actually quite a lot of game for the free price, I have no intentions of buying anything from the store and will not be in it for the long run. But there are a good few hours to be wasted here if you feel like it and the game play is pretty good imo
Apart from the bosses which have interesting design, I do not find anything that could have attract me to the product. Will wait and see what updates and fuctions are going to be added in the future. Pass for now.
I've been playing it for about 6 hours. It's addictive. Looks mediocre, but not that bad. It's decent. Building is not yet perfect. The game just won't let me play walls or ceiling tiles at certain places, while that place is in my territory. It seems like a bug. The stuff pop in gets bad sometimes. But mostly it's fine. Gun mechanics are fine, creatures are nice. Crashed once . Overall it's pretty good for a free game
I'm not really a fan of this style of the game, but at the same time it is kinda cool to just chill around in a free 2 play open world where you can just build a base anywhere you want without the game spamming ads in your face. Even if this game does look like some Korean MMORPG garbage fest at first glance, but it's actually kinda dope, nothing revolutionary, but still good enough.
It gives me Zombie Apocalypse + SCP Outbreak vibes, and I'm here for it. The way the trailers advertised it made it seem like you would happen upon a deeper story here..., I'm curious how they'll blend that with building bases and otherwise aiming to make the game as "free" as possible. Frankly that moving house seems great, maybe build a moving base on top of that thing. Could really be beneficial to keeping you moving on the board while still giving you the "run home and horde" gameplay. I'm definitely giving it a try.
They did not blend it with building bases and making the game free as possible. The story feels extremely disconnected from the actual gameplay. The environments and concepts are really cool, and I really dig the enemy designs, but the game feels like a hodgepodge of ideas tossed into a blender. Some of the missions are really inventive too, like the magical wheelchair mission, but then it's completely removed from everything else you do, and the lifelessness of the environment and lack of NPCs trying to survive makes the world feel like a themepark set in a sandbox.
One thing that’s bugging me a bit in solo is the amount of half built houses, messages left by other users (even inside my base) and territories I keep coming across not to mention having several players jumping around me. It’s immersion breaking. The PVE server should only load me, my stuff and the game structures/loot and npcs/bosses. Unfortunately that’s not what the games is going for, I guess...
@@PepperoniRonin. I guess I was expecting something like Elite Dangerous. Same Universe, same character, same npcs but PVE completely removes PVP multiplayer elements. Basically 2 completely different experiences.
I just wish they offered it on ps5. The game looks really fun and reminds me of days gone. But goofier with some of the monster designs lol they did a great gob from what I can see. And I'd be willing to pay for it to help support them. If cosmetics are they only thing they charged for. Cause it deff looks worth many hours of fun.
Not really, this is the worst AI I've seen in a long time. The gunplay challenge is near to null, except on major boss fights where they are just bullet sponge. Very bad mechanics overall.
i didnt think id like the game i downloaded it a few days ago and i couldn't get my self to play it and i finally started playing it 2 days ago and i haven't played anything else, the sense of progression feels really good i really like it im level 20 and i plan on getting to max level.
i like it it looks interesting but I'm nor really a fan of some of the style i kinda would want it to be a gloomier game but its probably just not for me overall though looks good if your into the style
Okay I have 2 questions. 1. Is there anything that will install on my computer that I can't get rid of etc. If so is there any guidance in terms of what to look for or what to watch out for? Can I use a controller for this game, if so are the controls okay? Thank you for any that are able to answer these 2 questions.
Two apps launch with the game that other people claim are safe, but this is a Chinese government malware game so don't believe that for a second, and if you can get past that, there's no controller support yet but the devs claim they're working on it.
Even if Luke was honest, he is already biased. It can't be helped. But I also have been playing and got me addicted. HOWEVER, be advise, the game is seasoned, and there is a server wipe every 6 weeks. You will start from scratch, keeping only blueprints and cosmetics, plus some key items.
The tone of this video is so different to most of your other stuff. Hard to take this seriously; you can't sell your channel and brand to companies and expect to keep the same level of credibility. I'm noping out at the 30 second mark
Best part about this game is how unobtrusive the monetization is. I played for about 10 hours before even seeing the paid cosmetic shop. Not a single time has this game tried to get me to pay. Its just there if you want to buy stuff buf if you dont you dont even need to think about it.
We've all seen this before promise of only cosmetics then to turn face or maybe make something incredibly expensive. Figure that you have all people, would be very cautious about this. I've been burned by these kinds of games before, and I think you should definitely warn people that that's something that could happen before sinking your life into yet another live service
This game has a premise that’s sort of cool, but the game is pure ass. Honestly, it’s just pretty generic and the loop as well, only good thing is the idea and tone of like a supernatural world MMO style game. Pretty big letdown of a game but at least it was free to play so can’t complain to much
The thing I don’t like about these worlds/concepts is that everytime you log into the game the world hasn’t changed at all. Anything you did the last time you played has zero affect on anything. There’s no sense of time
Your word is supposed to be not yet p2w, but soon when there are more contents available they will start selling materials packages to skip boring tedious grindfest that will take hours to just have enough to craft atleast one gear but for the rest of the good gears gotta grinds again... and do the same thing again for hours.
If there's controller support, then I might be able to convince my gaming buddy to check it out. He doesn't really like shooters, but there's a chance if the game has full controller support.
There are so many things wrong with this game. Play the actual live game instead of a review copy. Just for example, take that clean, pretty view, and fill it back to back with half-finished player housing and respawn points. The servers are absolutely crowded and it ruins the immersion. And you can't switch to a different server without completely resetting your character, so good luck playing with friends.
I mean I could see this type of view outside of spawn since not much players are building there and all the building on spawns are just random territories that from what I saw the longer the server you have the less the bases at spawn are since overtime the players slowly moved their bases elsewhere but thats just what I noticed tho, it depends on the servers aswell and this was filmed before launch as he said
@@SheyDeath Same... I built on a cliffside and damn the view was amazing. Now I live on a riverbed and its still gorgeous. Personally I live seeing other people's bases and seeing them running around doing stuff, makes the game feel alive. I dont get people's complains. The game says "This is a survival MMO" and then people go "alright cool", download the game, boot it up and then when they see other players and their influences they go "wHy Tf ArE tHeRe PlAyErS aNd THeIr BaSeS aLl ArOuNd Me!??!?!?!?!?! sHiT gAmE!!!!!". Like, what do you expect from a survival MMO? Dune Awakening will also be the same as this and you will see the same complaits even after it has been made so clear already that it will be a survival MMO
His character was in 0 danger through the entire video....so the enemies are braindead sponges. Yeah redfall already beat ya to the punch. On top of this luke basically said "theres so much to do and see" meanwhile barely anything happens during his video.
I've been having fun with this game. I even wanted to buy a cosmetic but I don't think any of them are cool or any good which is a little disappointing, since the cosmetic feels like they didn't really have the same inspiration in the world they're in, instead they are all really generic.
This game is great at first. Then it turned into basically what i hated about FO76 lol. A lot of potential, but surface level shit that gets old after a month.
Dude your tone is terrible. You didn’t have to tell us this was sponsored for us to know this was sponsored. Really shallow and goes against this identity of authenticity you faked
in my 8,5h of gameplay so far i like what i've played and y there are issues but not gamebreaking ones and this reminds me of what The Day Before was suppose to be but it wasn't
Has anyone else been having issues with input delay/completely unresponsive inputs. Ive been having so much fun with this game so far but at times is feels like 20% of my inputs arent being registered
This game looks so easy. And what about seasonal pass, I heard you lose all your progress after the too short 6 week season ends and then you need to do everything all over again...?
What is putting me off in games like this is the Themepark nature into which it turns after quite a short time of playing. I played the beta and you begin to start seeing the Monsterbus repeatedly after a while like all the other unique features and enemies. Combine this with seeing players do the same stuff you just did a minute ago, seeing all the new player cubicles around a certain POI and the 50 camps or so around a mission area. This removes immersion by the hours of playtime. It is just that: A theme park. At which time the the seals being fed? 1400? Let's go there and watch. Again. Same for the dungeons. Even Destiny, which follows the same principle and which had much more time to evolve, the player ends up circling around the venue wondering which ride to ride next - for the hundredths time.
Yeah i was an ex undawn player and yes ive experiences this kind of game and it gets bored after days of playing it and kind of drop off the game and when you try to cameback again you already got left behind by the whole players community. So yeah its a boring game after you played it for so long. So i decided not to play this game.
You hit the nail on the head. That is exactly how I felt after close to 15 hours or so in. Funnily enough, even though The First Descendant is also very theme-parky, it didn't quite put me off as much as Once Human did. I think the fact that The First Descendant at least has tighter gameplay, weightier movement, and a better art-style really helps. Once Human has a far superior concept, but the execution is just outright poor when you start to really think about it -- it has all of the features and gameplay mechanics that I wish The Secret World had, but The Secret World did a much better job of cohesively tying together those concepts into something that felt worth exploring. It just had bad gameplay mechanics.
@@Billy-bc8pk I can agree with some things here like the "tighter gameplay" which my opinion is TFD gunplay is closer to Warframe gunplay while Once Human gunplay is closer to The Division 2 gunplay so which one you like is personal preference but then you say TFD has weightier movement? that could not be more false. Characters in TFD don't feel like they have weight at all... now they don't feel like they are straight up floating but there is no sway in their movement that indicates weight just like real life. One of TFD's weakest points is the animations. Once human's movement is like The Division 2's movement where you actually feel the weight of the character. Your character doesn't just start running at max speed, they have a build up and they also don't just stop then you stop moving, it takes them a few steps as they fight against their own body weight. When you press A and D the character actually does a full turn b4 moving. AND your body weight actually affects how weighty your animations feel, my character went from 75KG to 95KG (coz that's a game mechanic they don't even explain but have it in, your character can gain and lose weight by eating various foods) and they reason I even noticed it was because the animations felt waay more weighty all of a sudden and losing 10KG returned my animations to how they were b4! In TFD you press W and your character just shoots of at their max speed, no indication of weight whatsoever. you press A and D and the character just starts moving in that direction without realistically turning. Where is the weighty movement? Art style is subjective but I personally believe Once human has the better art style. It reminds me of The Division 2 in a sense which I really liked the look of. TFD looks like an unreal engine 5 tech demo and TBH the UE5 tech demo's looked better. Like I swear if they add AI to UE5 and you asked it to make a sci-fi post apocalyptic game world with a few fantastical elements it would generate the same world as TFD or probably an even better looking one. TFD has way vetter graphical fidelity tho, ill give it that... but that credit truly belongs to UE5 and not TFD.
@@PepperoniRonin. You're actually kind of right here, because TFD has less weight in their movements than Warframe, but they feel more grounded than Once Human. The weight system in Once Human does make your character move slower, but your character floats around a lot of the environment and the roll-dodge doesn't feel as if it has the same level of inertia as in TFD. A good comparison is Death Stranding or RDR2, where both games feel very weighty and the movements are very grounded in the environment. Sam, especially, moves with purpose and weight, and how he leans, wields weapons, and engages in melee combat feels very polished, and deliberate with appropriate timing, acceleration in movements, and deceleration in reaction, which adds to the feeling of weight. In Once Human -- I really like that you can shoot body parts and enemies will react and it makes it easier to take them out -- but at the same time the melee is just kind of clunky and disjointed. TFD's melee is worse yet, so Once Human gets a leg up on there. Also, Once Human does a better job of giving you a better look at the weapons with the OTS view; TFD has far superior weapon designs and art but the OTS is too far zoomed out. The characters also react better in their animations when firing weapons in TFD, especially the heavy wepaons where there is substantial recoil and balancing in how the characters react. Once Human the weapons feel very much like templates rather than being grounded in the realism of their supposed weapon class categories. It would be nice if the shotguns gave the characters a bit more kick in the recoil, and there was an actual hip-firing animation when running and not aiming.

Last time I was this early, she stayed for desert.
I agree, but they probably don't wanna use all their ideas all at once which is understandable but man it gets old after a while
Ai really needs more work on this game, most of them just stare at you before attacking and it makes things very easy.
40 hours in 3 days, lets just say I quite enjoy what is there (even if its flawed)
I bet that shit wore off huh? LOL. This game is amazing the first few weeks to no life tf out of then you hit a wall like 76
Hey Luke, I appreciate all the hard work you put into the channel! Good Sunday to you sir !

Thanks for the preview! I'll check it out this upcoming week.
I hate the Six weeks wipe, Give us the option to set our own private server.
@@susanna8612 yup that will definitely make a lot of people quit after 1 playthrough

What res are you playing? He has a beefed up pc so maybe hes running 4k
Maybe your pc is shit??

Boring game
Playing this game is like drinking tap water.

YOU PUTING IT INTO THE CONTRACT WITH THE STUDIO THAT YOU CAN SAY WHATEVER YOU WANT IS NOT REMOTELY THE SAME THING AS WHAT YOU SAID WHEN YOU SAID @ 1:51 "...i am contractually obligated to be honest with you".
your contract allows you to "lie" all you want and/or to temper your more destructive opinions about a game because being "nice" to the studio and lying means more of those contracts that allow you to say "whatever you want" as long as you self censor and do not say whatever you want. normally this would not bother me as it is fairly standard and most ppl should already know what i just pointed out, but the fact you disingenuously said that you are contractually obligated to tell the truth, which IS a lie i cannot trust your integrity when it comes to perhaps holding back on some reviews because the truth is studios only really keep giving those contracts out to ppl who color within the lines they set, even if not in the contract. in other words sure they will give you that contract once maybe twice if they are stupid but after 3 times of negative reviews you wont get another and the industry itself will follow suit.
There is actually quite a lot of game for the free price, I have no intentions of buying anything from the store and will not be in it for the long run. But there are a good few hours to be wasted here if you feel like it and the game play is pretty good imo

The game actually looks unique in its creature concept.
Easily the best reviewer on the internet.
This game may wind up being good but the beta felt like a mobile game ported to PC.

Its heavily inspired by HP lovecraft and SCP foundation.

Two apps launch with the game that other people claim are safe, but this is a Chinese government malware game so don't believe that for a second, and if you can get past that, there's no controller support yet but the devs claim they're working on it.

Idk how survival games became so popular, I really hate that genre. This game looks interesting for those who don't share my feelings on that
Even if Luke was honest, he is already biased.
I'm curious about your thoughts on the 6 week wipe cycle.
It seems that he hasnt played this game enough to be even aware of it.
This game has a premise that’s sort of cool, but the game is pure ass. Honestly, it’s just pretty generic and the loop as well, only good thing is the idea and tone of like a supernatural world MMO style game. Pretty big letdown of a game but at least it was free to play so can’t complain to much
You might have mentioned that this game has NO CONTROLLER SUPPORT !!
7:50 i think that is LOD bias , making it show even far distance is cpu intensive

The thing I don’t like about these worlds/concepts is that everytime you log into the game the world hasn’t changed at all. Anything you did the last time you played has zero affect on anything. There’s no sense of time
I like your cat
Riiiiiiiight.
They deserve a lot of credit for having no P2W.
it's so sad that the gaming industry is such a dreaded wasteland that we now have to praise a game for doing the bare minimum...
@melojei yeah we should especially if we want more companies to stop the p2w bs
Your word is supposed to be not yet p2w, but soon when there are more contents available they will start selling materials packages to skip boring tedious grindfest that will take hours to just have enough to craft atleast one gear but for the rest of the good gears gotta grinds again... and do the same thing again for hours.
Just because you told your sponsor you CAN say whatever you want, doesnt mean you wont be influenced by the money they give you. Bird brain logic.
If there's controller support, then I might be able to convince my gaming buddy to check it out. He doesn't really like shooters, but there's a chance if the game has full controller support.
It doesn't.
I kinda like this game a lot!
It being 3rd person only kind of kills it for me personally.

Seems like a fun distraction, hard for me to keep up with f2p games. Limited time makes it harder to fully invest.
"i dont like themepark type mmos"
fixed your comment lol. and i agree with everything you said, it was just a *lot*
Wow, this game reminds me of titanfall 2 a lot.
how?!😂
