    Samuel has a nice delivery for someone so young. That's a credit to good coaching. It sounds like there are some of the Littles that will be aging up. Watching some of these little littles, I think you will have more than enough talent to take their place...

    And already, I'm in no position to talk as the "wrong foot" thing has been my problem for as long as I've been bowling (still working on smoothing out my new four-step approach in this off-season). It can be worked on in Jake's case. Like you told me in the "Kickin' it Ol Skool" video, start with the one-step approach and work back.

    I wish my league did this, me and this kid had a bit of a rivalry this year, I averaged 154 he averaged 157. Mid December I had a 233 and one week later he had a 236 it was pretty surreal. Our league is already over and I'm moving to Saturday morning league next year. Wish me luck!

    • @ProdigyBowlersTour

      There's no reason why you and your buddy can't do this on your own. Just get some of the other interested kids in your league to stay after league for a little informal challenge match. Maybe bowl a couple of games as a qualifier to "seed" yourselves into a stepladder and then roll it off. That's all there is to it. We did this for years long before I ever got the bright idea to put a camera on it.

    I left the 5 7 10 at the demo day last year at Junior Gold and I missed all of them but I was throwing a 14 pound ball

    • @zaythebowler
      @zaythebowler 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nolan Boucher if you’re not even hitting 1 of the 5 7 10 pins then you probably shouldn’t be at Junior Gold and a 14 pound ball is no excuse because I’m 10 and I throw a 14 pound ball and I wouldn’t even miss that bad

    I loved the scoring and how we could see it

  • @paulsmith9198
    @paulsmith9198 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    For the electronic scorers, a frame isn't added in until that frame is scored in totality. For example, if you have a spare in the ninth, the score won't change until the first ball in the tenth (fill ball for 9th) is thrown. Then, not again until the tenth is completed. Similarly, for the vacants, you can count on 20 pins adding to the score in the tenth as the fill ball for the ninth is completed (0spare0) and the tenth is completed (0spare0). Hope this helps.

  • @lukes4110
    @lukes4110 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like the sparemaker animations there better than ours where I bowl, ours don't move or have text to explain, just has a still image of where to place the ball

    Memories
    I bowled with the same team of 4 from 7th grade to 12th. (42 now) One change made when I was in 10th. Always first or second. League and tournaments. Top teams of Saturday leagues across Baltimore traveled on Sundays. Won that too

    Annalise is using a different release, probably looking for more revs than she generated last year. Constantly improving her game; using the PBA-recommended straight shot on spares. Still has impeccable form. College programs will be very interested!

      You know, I went back to the results sheets on some previous Pepsi Tournaments. She's won the Pepsi in her age group EVERY TIME SHE HAS ENTERED. That's CRAZY! But even going back to when she was U12, she was averaging over 190...on their demanding sport shots. That girl is really, really good. And she's been good for a while. What's scary is, she's only 14. She's going to get LOTS better before she even goes off to college. Chew on THAT for a while!

      I don't think you meant to post that comment on this video. Maybe on the video where I was testing out the plug-ins that would allow me to put the MPH on the video. I haven't decided yet if I'll even do it, or how often. But I like the feedback.

    • @ProdigyBowlersTour
      @ProdigyBowlersTour  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yeah, I forgot this was the video where we showed the overheads. Yes, it's there. However, it should be noted, the only cameras are down near the pins, so they're only detecting ball speed as it slows down (a bowling ball begins to slow down as soon as it hits the floor). So the figures are a little lower than what is actually the speed. If we had cameras set up from the foul line down to the pins like they do at Kegel, we could get a precise reading. This is only an estimate.

      ed911detroit - Been suggested many times. Sometimes I give out that information, sometimes I don’t. On many occasions when I have, people then posted questions asking what ball they threw. So I’m convinced that providing this information wouldn’t guarantee that people would even notice.

    I’ve always wanted to bowl two-handed, coach wouldn’t let me do it, so now if I try he’ll yell at me

    • @ProdigyBowlersTour
      @ProdigyBowlersTour  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any coach who would exhibit a bias against two-handed bowling deserves to have his coaching credential stripped. Now, that said, there are some players who, I believe, would be better advised to bowl one way or the other, one-handed or two-handed. I've recommended to some one-handers that they switch to two-handed. And I've had some two-handers that I've recommended that they consider switching to one-handed. (I've got a little kid in the league right now who I think will benefit from switching to one-handed one day soon. But right now, he's having a hard enough time delivering the ball two-handed to even entertain the idea of trying to handle it one-handed.) A coach should always be on the lookout for what makes the most sense. A dogmatic view that two-handed is non-traditional and therefore has no place in the game disqualifies a person from being worthy of the title, "coach." They're a hack who has no business shaping other people's games with their short-sighted biases.

    • @logandees3172
      @logandees3172 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ProdigyBowlersTour swiching to two handed was the best decision i could have ever made. It should not be the coaches decision on what you should do, but rather the form.

    • @ProdigyBowlersTour
      @ProdigyBowlersTour  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Logan Dees - Ultimately it’s the player’s choice. But some can benefit from a recommendation to switch, one way or the other. But what they choose to do with that recommendation is ultimately up to the player.

    • @ProdigyBowlersTour
      @ProdigyBowlersTour  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      james daniels - I see this a lot with the little guys. They want to win so bad, and they have such (often unrealistically high) expectations that when they fail to meet those self-imposed expectations, they don’t yet have the experience or the emotional maturity to be able to process the disappointment and channel it in a productive way. Some get mad at their opponent, some get mad at who knows what, and many just cry. Sometimes uncontrollably. It’s often tough for the parent, but I’ve seen it enough times (in kids of all ages, by the way - well, maybe not the crying part so much in the older ones, but temper for sure) that I know it’s part of the maturing process, and fits in to the overall process of developing a sound mental game. But you know what? When I see these little guys act out or cry, all it tells me is that they care. A lot. And that passion will serve them well in the long run.

    • @ProdigyBowlersTour
      @ProdigyBowlersTour  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Zeqinz -- I have said this a thousand times: If all you have to offer is criticism of a youth bowler, but nothing of substance to offer in terms of a prescription to help them improve, your comment is of no value whatsoever. The mission of PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR is stated quite clearly on each episode: Celebrating Junior Bowling and Elevating Junior Bowlers. You don't hear anything there about Criticizing Junior Bowlers, do you? No, you don't. These are KIDS. Some of them take bowling very seriously. Others only do it recreationally, and therefore don't display the skill level you might see displayed by those who do. The ones who don't may be national champions at something else other than bowling, which would indicated they spend their time devoted to other activities. In Brin's case, she competes in international competitions in dance. So it's not like she's lacking in athletic prowess. She is a champion. Just not in bowling.
      I urge you to either modify your criticism, or delete it altogether. This channel is not here to provide people a public forum in which to criticize or humiliate CHILDREN. Those who use it for such purposes need to seek professional psychiatric help. Or get a clue.
