Well, the only one I can think of is S.O.S. Titanic which has a plot line for 2nd class with Lawrence Beesley, played by David Warner, and his fictional love interest, played by Susan Saint James. I've seen it (a long long time ago), but can't remember if it depicted the 2nd class to any great detail.
Look up Ruth Becker (aged 13 on Titanic) and Lawrence Beesley (wrote a book about his experience). Two of the more famous 2nd Class survivors who gave excellent testimonies of their experiences.
Please continue to make this series. It's like a directors cut . Make walking about easier plus you can follow along like a museum tour getting little bits of info great work
I'm sure James Cameron is watching this. You guys have done an outstanding job! Well done! I've been painting titanic since I was a kid but seeing the interior is a real treat. Thank you Mike for all your videos I love your channel.
I didn't get to watch the entire video LIVE, but it's always a pleasure to hear the information and enthusiasm of the amazingly dapper Mike Brady. Please don't stop doing what you do, my friend. You are a great treasure! 😊❤
I really enjoy hearing all the obscure facts you all know about the little tidbits you find here and there that you'd never learn about by just basic research or reading. Both the demo, and these streams are a valuable and entertaining resource
Been catching up on all these Titanic tour livestreams over the last few weeks and have enjoyed all these, they are fantastic and very interesting, looking forward to seeing more
I feel like 2nd class passengers got the lesser end of the ship between all three classes. They basically have one Lounge for men and women, the smoke room for men and then the dining saloon for meals. Everything seems very tight and compact .. the promenade looks less than 100ft long! At least the third class passengers could literally walk the length of the ship through Scotland Road, etc. Noticing a door from the Parisienne Cafe to the second class promenade; you'd HOPE that at times they were allowed to use the cafe. (Im sure that was eventually the case with the Olympic but, surely not Titanic.)
Hi I’m watching this on catchup and I just want to say this is another fantastic live. I would like to say thank you and Titanic Honor & Glory for all the awesomeness you have provided. I just bought the Titanic Deck Plans I’ve always loved the ship as I was was born on the 69th anniversary of Titanic setting sail from Southampton, England and I’m excitedly waiting to get them. Cheers everyone!
The padded cell on the ship was also a quaint accommodation to relax or tend to things if you didn't wish to be cooped up in your cabin for the whole voyage. The stark white walls provide excellent illumination for mad scribblings or eating the pages of your favorite contemporary novel.
You guys have put a lot of work into this and it is truly appreciated. I couldn't have pointed out where 2nd class even was without this amazing demo. Thanks for the hard work!
If the part of the Titanic where the Second Class stairwell was located is still intact, as it was stated at around 22:00, do we know whether there is anything left from the Second Class staircase itself? Because that could tell us more about the fate of First Class staircase. As far as I know, there have been two theories: 1) Ballard presumes that all wooden parts have been eaten by ligniperdous marine fauna 2) Cameron presumes that the buoyancy of such a huge amount of wood caused the whole structure to be ripped away from the hull. So if there is nothing left of the Second Class staircase, then the marine fauna theory would be correct but if something is still left of the Second Class staircase then there must be a different explanation for the disappearance of the First Class staircase.
@@A.Netizen.Since.2010 Just something about going through an entirely empty ship this size while knowing it's actually sitting at the bottom of the ocean gives me anxiety.
Thank you Mike! Didn't get to enjoy the whole stream live, but will rewarch it. Had the deck plans on my watch list for a while so snapped them up with the discount code, thank you!
Hello my friend Mike Brady, that was a very relaxing way to spend a couple of hours, well done to everyone involved in bringing it to us as a live stream. Mike, with the developers eye for detail you might want to pass on a patch for the final release. On the world map at 1:56:30 there are two New Zealands and when you zoom in you can see Lyttleton and Dunedin listed on the wrong side of the South Island. Both are on the East coast.
Came across your channel after visiting the Titanic museum in Belfast. Absolutely loving all the tour and commentary videos. I Just watched part 1 & 2 of first class and looking for part 3 to hopefully see some first class cabin rooms, have I missed it or is this the next one?
Mr. Brady I’m not sure if this is what you set out to be, but you are quite the showman. Impressive numbers you put up here and the momentum is palpable. Exciting look into 2024. (FWIW titanic has never been a top interest of mine as I usually am more drawn to action but the way you present it to outsiders is so accessible and refreshing)
Fell asleep at the helm in the middle of the stream. Just gonna pretend it's still live 😅. Amazing as always guys. Thanks for the discount code by the way. Got my plans ordered!
So the 'Weatherspoon's' analogy is kinda spot on, but not as 'mean' as you'd think - Weatherspoon's are famous for refurbishing derelict public buildings that have quite ornate features into pubs, old cinemas, train stations, theatres, chapels, bingo halls, Banks, Post Offices. If you go to their website they have a 'pub histories' page which highlights some of the most interesting buildings. The one in Bristol's docks used to be a transit shed, the now since closed one in Southampton is next door to the Canute Chambers, which was where White Star Line's officers were housed. Being old public buildings they tend to be big open spaces, not like the traditional idea of a British pub with nooks and cranies, so they tend to have a distinctive look. It tends to be the clientele that let the places down!
Even on modern day cruises they still do assigned, kind of, communal dinner seating. You don't sit at the same table as your nightly dinner neighbors, but the tables are so close together that you might as well be.
The most famous people from the night of the sinking who stayed at Titanic's Second Class were the eight musicians, all of whom perished in the tragedy. The musicians, like the Marconi operators, were neither crew, nor passenger. Like the Marconi operators, they were hired by an agency. Though they were hailed for their heroism and stoicism the musicians were not insured by neither the hiring agency nor by White Star Line, each passing the insurance claims on the other. This was perhaps the most tragic story of the musicians, whose family members were not compensated by their employees who abrogated all responsibility.
This is very true. For the most part the ships H&W built were cookie cutter ships. The Olympic class for the most part were not unique. Romanticism and armchair history has made them out to be more unique than they really were.
Its incredible to have so many smoking rooms on a ship which is extensive wood panelling. Even the electric wires could potentially short circuit and spark a fire. I wonder if Thomas Andrews had made contingency plans for fire fighting on the Titanic.
I think it would be really neat if for one of your livestreams, you built a model kit of Titanic. Could be multiple streams so you're not trying to get it done in one go. I have the Revell RMS Titanic Easy-Click Model Kit and its so cool but not very difficult to build.
..Second-class tickets were £12 , or $60 ..First-class berths started at £30 , or $150 ..Those who purchased a first-class suite paid £105,000, or over $130,000... ..In today's money, first-class berths would cost $4,591 ..Second-class tickets would be $1,834 ..And third-class tickets would be $1,071.20
I think another reason 2nd Class gets overlooked so much (besides the social politics) is for aesthetic reasons. To a modern audience, 2nd Class simply looks as fancy as 1st Class in many areas. Visually, let’s imagine if 2nd Class were in Cameron’s movie, it would be confusing to a viewer who doesn’t know the ship well. We know that many areas of 2nd Class could be used for extra 1st Class or extra 3rd Class space. We know that 2nd Class was allowed to tour 1st Class while at port. As beautiful as 2nd Class is, the entire space is cinematically vague (except for their dinning room). “A Night To Remember” did a rare representation of 2nd Class with the story of the newlywed couple. Young Ruth Becker and teacher Lawrence Beesley are two famous 2nd Class survivors with documented testimonies of their experiences, for anyone interested.
Hey Mike I think using a controller while exploring the ship might make for an even greater viewing experience! Another great stream as always! Thanks for everything:)
It would be amazing if someone took all these cool informations, made a nice script with just the protein and put it in the game so we could hear a good narrator telling us all about things, along the lines of the demo number 3.
1 in 100 top tip for best quality streaming. - lock fps max to 60 and turn on vsync (set monitor hz to 60 if necessary) - set Titanic game motion blur to 15-25% locking the fps /hz locally will sync video to youtube 60fps and eliminate out-of-sync tearing while reserving as much PC performance capacity as possible for motion blur, which is why movies at 30fps look smooth as glass
Hello my good friend Mike Brady. Huge titanic fan ever since I was a little kid hopefully bring titanic honor and glory to virtual reality that would be well beyond amazing. OK so the program you’re showing us on screen it is honor and glory. Yes, however how do we have an audience get this program?
I'm so mad I missed this live..lol.. 2nd class smoking room is my favorite room on the ship. I love the 2nd class public spaces more than 1st class. Not a fan of the cabins tho. At the same time, like they said, you're spending most of your time outside ur cabin anyway.
I’m thinking with the elevator vents they had two for redundancy so if one failed they could continue to use the elevator why’ll they fixed the other. Maybe they thought 2nd class would use the elevator more and being a single lift they wanted to make sure it stayed operating where in 1st class they had three elevators so if one elevator vent broke down they still have two elevators to use.
More than likely if I had the same income I have now I would probably have ended up in second class. I thought I read that Titanic’s third class was actually surprisingly nicer than normal third class on most ships.
..It should be hollowed...Even if it had no major role except mounting the mast light or flying the WSL flag [ can't remember the original term for it right now ]. . nevertheless, it surely had reduced some weight on the ship...So, I think it was too a hollowed one like foremast. .but with no lookout platform but maybe a long ladder to fix the light or the flag when needed...These are just my pure guess...It seems, I have to look it up more about it...Good Q btw 👍🏼
I notice that there is a sort of bar area in the back of the second class saloon, and it looks almost like a concession stand behind it, would have that converted to something else, or what was it?
The fact he says it’s scientifically proven he’s our friend Mike Brady made me smile.
I also appreciate Mike's friendship!
Ive always had an interest in 2nd class and felt it has been overlooked by the movies and history, how beautiful was the 2nd class dining saloon 😍

I agree. There are some fascinating stories from the 2nd class passengers as well.

14:48 I'm diagnosed with major depressive disorder but that JJ Astor "who let the dogs out" joke made me chuckle. Well done sir
It is a nice change to see other areas of the ship that most of us would probably be seated within..
Keep up the great work. Many Thanks
I'll be right at home when they tour third class
I love these live streams! Please keep doing them. They're always fun.
Can't wait for the next one, also the dining saloon chairs are just beautiful on their own

I love these exploring live streams! Thank you so much FRIENDMIKEBRADY and co.!
Awesome video Mike and your “who let the dogs out? JJ Astor did” joke was completely lost on those guys. Haha, I was dying.
Absolutely love these. Just wish they were more frequent but i get it, timing, hope the next part is soon! Love hearing all the talk
I love how all of you connect in an amazing way. Besides the fact that it feels like a learning lesson. Please keep doing this lives
Love to see you featuring the second class on Titanic Mike . Awesome 🎉🎉

I LOVE these tours! Thanks for doing these! This might just be me, or because times are different, but I can’t stand the floor tiles!
1:31:24 this is the kind of detail I live for!
We all heard of First World Country, and a Third World Country. But I never heard anyone ever say anything about a Second World Country.

Love this so much. Thank you . This is amazing.
Most LOL moment from the 2nd class dining saloon, “Pivot, pivot!” 😂 Thank you Kyle. 🙏
Also, I bet they stored potatoes in that locker..🥔
Really feels like your inside titanic itself. Stunning graphics & careful detail. Fantastic video!
Please keep doing these tours. I really appreciate it, as I'm too scared to walk around the ship by myself.
..Why scared ?
@@A.Netizen.Since.2010 Just something about going through an entirely empty ship this size while knowing it's actually sitting at the bottom of the ocean gives me anxiety.
I used to play and sit on Sir Thomas Liptons grave, it was next to my house in the Gorbals, Oatlands, in Scotland (not England) Glasgow
Wow! This looks bloody amazing. Kudos team.
Thank you Mike! Didn't get to enjoy the whole stream live, but will rewarch it.
Had the deck plans on my watch list for a while so snapped them up with the discount code, thank you!
Mike's favorite space on the ship aft mast with the 2nd class library/lounge door 😅
Mike, that was awesome. I enjoyed how you enjoy it. I just love it. You make great videos and like them so much And it was just great :-)
Enjoyed seeing the tour & hearing the insight, well done to all involved, am keen to see more…. cheeers.

I did the titanic tour in Tennessee!! It’s a must!!
..The Luxor museum in LV is exhibiting the 'Big Piece' these days... .
I didn’t even realize this was a thing that happened! Hope to catch the next one!
The 'Library' reminds me of the lounge on the R101 airship !
I could be totally comfortable here for six days.

The green smoke room floor pattern reminds me of motifs in the Ahwahnee Hotel.
About hand made items - looking at shipbuilding photos, Harland and Wolff mass produced hand made items. There was even a French Polishing workshop

I let out an obnoxious "HA" lol

He provided a social service by answering the age old question, "Who let the dogs out?" and everyone left him hanging lol
I like the Titanic it’s sad that the titanic sank

2nd class was a deeper shaft
I have deck plans from the Shipbuilder magazine. How accurate are they?
01:18:00 in the 2nd class dinner room why is there chairs where there's a gap between tables facing each other is that on purpose
We demand deck chair next video
I can see the point of hard wearing linoleum flooring but I can imagine it would be a bit slippery if wet !
You were talking so much about the portholese on Titanic. What about the starboardholes?
Oh! GROAN!
