Rabbi Shlomo came to pray in a synagogue
He was surprised to know that the cantor could not pray and did not say the prayers correctly - Rabbi Shlomo insulted the cantor in his thought
When they arrived at a section of the Torah scroll presentation, Rabbi Shlomo saw two children holding the cantor's hands
Rabbi Shlomo asked what it was and answered him it was the blind cantor - he was a great cantor before the Holocaust and the Germans abused him especially until they made him blind and stuttering. And this Saturday when Rabbi Shlomo arrived at the synagogue, the public asked the blind cantor to pray for them again.
Rabbi Shlomo instead of kissing the Torah as customary kissed the blind cantor hands (as an act of asking for forgiveness because of the bad thought that Rabbi Shlomo had against the cantor)
The blind cantor asked who this is, this is Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, the children answered the cantor, and the cantor told Rabbi Shlomo that he loved his tunes (tunes by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach)
They became friends and kept in touch until the blind cantor passed away
And his right, like all the rights of the Holocaust saints, will protect the people of Israel forever.
