it's great that Wilbur is trying to rekindle their relationship but he needs to understand, Fundy being around him doesn't make him feel good. It's understandable that Fundy did what he did because despite Wilbur apologizing and trying to mend for his faults to Fundy, his son, those things that happened can never be taken back, never be undone. they're there permanently now as scars, it sounds selfish and isolating on Fundy's part but you have to understand that all everyone he's ever loved had done was walk out of his life when he needed them the most, one of them being his dad, Wilbur, he cares for others when they don't even care about them.
@@noctuabird yeah, Wilbur's apology here in Fundy's point of view is useless, he's apologizing now out of all the time he could have but never had, he's apologizing late that It's basically useless now to Fundy.
"he needs to understand, Fundy being around him doesn't make him feel good" With that statement I can agree that he needs to understand that Fundy is genuinely uncomfortable with his presence. However, I do feel like this analysis lacks acknowledging how accepting Wilbur was with not being forgiven by Fundy. It was very obvious that his decision hurt him but he accepted it nonetheless. Like he didn't immediately just leave him be but he didn't get very worked up about towards Fundy either. Tho, this is more of a Fundy centric analysis so understandable. For your general analysis on Fundy's POV and how his decision make sense considering his character background is honestly really well done the emphasis on how Fundy was not only given enough care from his father but from so many other people is his life. I love the acknowledgement of Fundy having all these other factors in his life that have resulted in his mental state. Overall, great analysis on Fundy. 👍
@Butterflievie people hurt people and those people hurt by them will just hurt others or just hurt them back instead, it's an endless cycle I grew up familiar with at the age of 10.
This is gonna be an interesting point for Wilbur's character arc, because now he's realizing that like: a redemption arc isn't about people forgiving you, it's about you bettering your wrongs. And Wilbur is realizing that people don't have to forgive you.
You know what the kicker about this is? Wilbur was never GOING to apologize to Fundy. Eret told him he needed to and he really was unbothered, and even said I'll maybe think about it." He didn't agree to apologize, he only agreed to consider thinking about apologizing. The only reason he even got to know any of this was because ERET set him up. He was looking for NIKI to apologize to, (as his FINAL apology) with Eret's directions to find her. He goes and finds Fundy INSTEAD of Niki and realizes Eret was leading him to Fundy to apologize instead of Niki. That's the worst part. Fundy is so hurt and broken that he couldn't even accept Wil's apolgy and Wilbur was never even going to apologize. Even when he decided to spend time with Fundy he didn't even INITIATE the apology. They played together and then FUNDY voiced his despair and frustration and Wilbur had to react to it WITH an apology.
THIS! So many people talk about "villianizing Wilbur," like we're making him out to be a worse person that he is, but cc!Wilbur wrote him like that and roleplays him that way!? You can't engage with well-written material at face value, such as assuming that, because c!Wilbur said he's trying to change and be better, that he is immediately a better person now. He's still flawed, and he still hurts and manipulates people. People who say other's are villianizing Wilbur can't seem to see what's there.
@@diddykitty746 Dad person doesn't equal Villian tho Wilbur's insane and manipulative but that doesn't mean he's a straight-up villain, so yeah I can see why people get upset when others villainize him
Hmmm I've thought about this idea, how people are upset at others for villainizing wilbur when he clearly is struggling with mental health issues and this is my take on it. I dont think Wilbur is SUPPOSED to be a villain, or is doing any of this to harm people INTENTIONALLY. But...that also doesnt change the fact hes still hurting people and needs to he held responsible for the hurt he caused. I'm NOT gonna go easy on him, I'm not an apologist, but I'm not gonna make him out to be evil either. We cant go easy on him and he gentle because hes "fragile." If Wilbur wants others to HEAL from the pain HE caused, then he has to be willing to fully clean out the glass from people's wounds, to reopen and clean infected ones, so then can be sealed cleanly. He also needs to accept some people have horrible scars and permanent negative changes that are too late to fix. The characters SHOULD yell at him, and voice their frustrations and get the apology THEY need from him to heal, because Wilbur wont offer that kind of care himself. I stand by that. Wil cant avoid the difficult things for HIM to stomach, it isnt FOR HIM. People have to be brave enough to watch Wilbur give them a bandaid for their bullet wound, and tell him they need more. The only truly satisfying apologies imo were Eret's and Fundy's (both were people Wilbur was never going to apologize to) and it was because they DIDNT go easy on Wilbur. Both parties acknowledged Wilbur's intent. They said "I'm happy you did this" but they ALSO were willing to hold him responsible for the full depth of the pain he caused, and were willing to say "that isnt what I need. That isnt enough" and honestly that's super VALID for them to say! How can we possibly be angry at these characters for being harsh to Wilbur when he barely seemed sorry for his actions??? They DESERVE to be mad at him, reguardless if "oh no but wilburs feelings will get hurt :( Wilbur is the one OFFERING to fix their pain, and they are simply telling him what actually needs to be done to do that.
There’s a lot of sad stuff in this scene, but what kills me is that Wilbur has actually improved. He’s actually somewhat healed since revival, but that’s not enough. The damage was done. He can’t get his son back. It sucks but it’s important that this happen. This is the only way he’ll actually begin to realize how to carry his sins with him while moving forward. Wilbur shouldn’t be entirely forgiven. He doesn’t deserve that. Cause Fundy deserved more.
I dont think its a matter of him deserving anything, because no one "deserves" forgiveness, no matter what they do. Fundy just couldnt forgive him, and thats 100% valid and fair
Yeahh I agree he's actually progressed from getting mad at Tubbo for not accepting his first apology, and I think Ranboo's death was a catalyst in him realizing he needs to stop ignoring his toxic behavior and his own trauma. But the part that really hurt was when Wilbur was fine with Fundy not wanting to be around him, but only being worried that Fundy was going through suicidal thoughts like he once did. I'm just happy in general that both Fundy's and Wilbur's mental health is finally be addressed, since Fundy was ignored for long and Wilbur's first post revival arc centered around him ignoring his past trauma and returning to toxic behavior
Fundy obviously is valid in everything he feels and is right in cutting him off, but it's really sad to think of Wilbur spending 13 years isolated waiting to return to those he loves but the wounds are still fresh for everyone else. As it is years down the line people may start to heal from what he did and want to form similar bonds with him again, but he already spent a ridiculous amount of time missing them and now he's going to have to spend even more time estranged. (Though it seems he hasn't thought enough on what Fundy has gone through and is too scared to admit/apologize for all he did to Tommy so he's not helping himself.)
He not only wasn't thinking what he went through ,he didn't even consider to apologize before Fundy. They met only because of Eret... That's really sad
@@gummtuum2549 a lot of what he did with Fundy was just brushing him off and coddling him he did worse when he started losing his mind and he got even less aware of how he was hurting him. Which makes sense, but makes it even worse. He's apologizing but he doesn't know fully what he's been doing to him for years. He definitely hasn't matured enough in his time alone, it didn't make him better. Phil shouldn't have killed him he should've got him in therapy. It seems now he's torn between wanting his family/friends back and just wanting to feel alive.
This is honestly such a great scene. The way you drew the emotions of the characters are so wonderful. Wilbur finally apologizing and Fundy being happy he apologized and not forgiving him is honestly deserving He acknowledged he was a bad father, and Fundy acknowledges that he’s no longer comfortable being with Wilbur. But I’m also glad he sees that Fundy self-isolating isn’t a good thing as he did that himself and look where that led him.
This Broke me And I'm glad Wilbur is finally growing up, learning to apologize But he does need to know, an apology isn't going to fix everything I do feel bad for Fundy, he really deserved to feel loved, to feel cared for, and I'm sad he never did I've been in that place, and I still kind of am, where no matter how much I help, no matter what I do, they don't really care And it's horrible Fundy had to feel that way
2yr ago but I think its worthy mentioning saying that could've been the cause of Fundy ending himself in the end. 'Why did you die?' 'I was very sad.' 'well so I am!'
i feel like fundy is one of the most misrepresented, misunderstood, and just completely ignored by both the fandom and the characters. he is such a complex character i love him.
I know most people feel for Fundy here, sadly I relate to Wilbur here him trying to reconnect on someone they've hurt how shocked he felt when he said "I don't forgive you" and him trying to care when it's way to late. The way he even talks feels desperate to have him and Fundy to be a family again but it won't be that way anymore not after what he made him go through. Listen if you've hurt someone to the point they don't want you anymore You have to realise to leave them alone cause you are the problem in the first place. Even if you've changed the things you did won't be undone unintentional or not just apologise and leave.
This part of his character arc is incredibly touching. I love it. It's full of him realizing that... Just apologizing isn't enough. Just trying to get better helps, but it still isn't always enough. It's making him realize that... He's hurt some people so badly that it may never matter what he does, he may never be forgiven.
Wilbur never expected to be forgiven though. He's kinda just been apologizing and trying to get on good terms, to leave people with good memories instead of bad ones
A lot of fundy's trauma isn't from Wilbur though All Wilbur really did was neglect fundy when his own mental health was going downhill, and with the amount of times fundy mentioned that others have ignored him, I feel like the furry boi is just projecting it all onto Wilbur oof.
This dialogue On the whole server, everything that have been happening for 2 years, this is the one interaction that legitimately made me cry It just feels so...raw, so genuine Everything after 3:49 hits really hard
maybe cause of how true it was, fundy was in fact a part of almost everything, and yet nobody cared. he worked so hard and no one used his work. he always joined others to help, to find a family, and yet no one ever joined HIM, they left him behind and tossed him aside. (not entirely true cause there was one person that joined him, even if for a short while, niki.)
tw: vent I feel like this scene and Wilbur’s apologizing recently has hit close to home with my relationship with my own father and seeing it happen with another child and parent even if it’s acting is really comforting to know it’s not just me that is able to forgive him but not want him around. I stopped going to see my dad for over a year and then it kinda finally hit him he was doing something wrong. Seeing your parent wanting to get better and apologize to you is something you want for a long time and you feel like that’s what you need to be okay again. Then it happens and when it doesn’t fill that hole and you still hold all that trauma and resentment and almost hate toward them you don’t know what to do and you feel bad. And you feel bad for not accepting them back into your world immediately. So seeing someone feel the same way is relieving and makes me feel better.
thank you for sharing that- to vent for yourself and also for more fickle things like Minecraft roleplay :,) i appreciate the perspective, especially how some people (including me) might have found it a strange and sudden change of heart when fundy had gone from being bitter about wilbur leaving once again + wanting to hang out, to adamantly demanding for him to get out of his sight. fundy made the same discovery you did and i see why you can find solidarity in this
Oh man I felt personally attacked by this stream... The way that someone I loved all my life just did this to me literally a day before. I really relate to Fundy, I've never been more frustrated and hurt in my life lol

These expressions are killing me, excellent job bringing these heartbreaking moments to life. Also, love the ambient noises--birdsong, wind, music--the changes when Fundy seems to accept Wilbur's apology, then the low, dread-inducing background tone emerging once Fundy starts explaining how he's isolated himself. (Low noises are used in horror movies since humans associate them with big things and our adrenaline spikes). This shows fantastic attention to detail and knowledge of filmmaking!
Ok first off perfect music choice, second off, god the expressions were chilling. Seeing the tonal shift when Wilbur goes from thinking his apology is working and things can be better, to realizing there's something wrong with Fundy and that he should do more than apologize, he needs to actually help him... and yet he can't break through. The desperation and shame in Wilbur and silent frustration and helplessness Fundy feels were portrayed beautifully.
It's nice how when he apologized you can see he wants Fundy back but when Fundy turns Down his apology he's hurt but respects his decision and he doesn't force him to mend their relationship and it's also nice how Wilbur sees that he's self isolating but didn't force him out of that he just had to let him figure things out himself and the animation in this captures all that the emotion and the expression it's 👌
This is an event that needed to happen between these two, even if it should never have gotten to that point. I empathise with both of them, here. C!Wilbur NEEDS that realisation that sometimes the apology really isn't enough, even for those who you thought would happily take it. C!Fundy NEEDED to finally stand up and tell Wilbur that no, it's not alright. I see some people in the comments berating Wilbur's "see you around" comment, but I don't see it as him ignoring what Fundy said, but more not knowing how else to offer a goodbye to his son. Yes, it would have hit Fundy like a freight train as if Wilbur wasn't even listening, but it seemed to me more like a 'well what else can I say?' thing. Both father and son are broken beyond what anyone should ever be, and sometimes it really is too little, too late. No-one owes forgiveness to anyone else, because the damage and pain doesn't just vanish with a few words that you can't even be entirely sure were honest because of every previous time... but it's also important to remember that apologising can be really hard for some people, and that pain can be two ways. I'm not trying to excuse anything, but the relationship between these two characters is tangled and twisted and full of pain and unspoken words.
Remember in Fundy’s nightmare a while back how he said there was a giant gorge where L’manburg was and that’s where it ended? Well that means a lot now...
this piece of lore always hit the hardest for me. it reminds me of my relationship with my mother, the way he talks to fundy hits so close to home. you animated this so beautifully, its, honestly really striking. thank you for this haha.
This lore here is really great! It really hits homes yeah... Great Animatic! The expressions were amazing! Seeing how exhausted Fundy is with all of what happened to him, it's sad.
Unfortunately I can relate to fundy, I joined a group, but no one noticed I was there, I helped everyone, but when they got what they wanted I was forgotten, and I stopped talking for a week and a half, no one noticed, one day another group asked if I wanted to be with them, it just repeated but the new people and the old people asked for help, and then forgot.
The fact that fundy just wanted his dad, willbur. The line that hurts the most is “why did you die, why couldnt we just walk away”. Fundy didn’t want Willbur to leave, he just wanted to be with his dad
YES MY FUNDY KINNIE HEART IS HAPPY THAT PEOPLE FINALLY UNDERSTAND HOW TRAUMATIZED HE IS-- I love Tommyinnt but sometimes I feel like his characters trauma kinda overshadows a lot of really good characters who all have messed up backstories 😭😭
I feel like half these comments don’t realize what happened. GO WATCH THE LORE STREAM. THERE’S A WHOLE LOT MORE THAN FUNDY JUST FEELING HURT. THINGS *HAPPENED.*
GOD no wonder Wilbur doesn’t want to apologize to Tommy. Not to further manipulate or gaslight him, it’s because he’s scared THIS EXACT SAME SCENE might happen if he said sorry to Tommy. He’s scared Tommy’s going to explode and leave on him too.
Whelp, fundy and Eret just poured more salt on these wounds because in Eret’s stream today they brought up the papers from Fundy’s failed adoption in 2020 after Eret mentioned he was planning on putting them in the museum since they were never used
Wtf? bro didn’t this stream happen LITERALLY YESTERDAY OR SMTHG? HOW ARE YOU THIS FAST. And the fact we then raided Niki and just ranted on about how wilbur and fundy just made us have a mental breakdown and traumatised us 😭
Something that isn't in this animation but did happen on the stream I thought I'd bring up: C!Fundy mentions c!Wilbur doing something bad to c!Fundy during his childhood (making him eat off of the floor) and c!Wilbur says something like, "I don't remember that. I can't remember everything that's ever happened, I hardly remember what I ate for breakfast this morning!" This hurts, since this is a common line used by parents who have abused their children, to gaslight them about the abuse. That way, parents don't have to take responsibility for their especially terrible actions, by making their kids doubt that it ever happened.
Honestly, this just feels like a retcon to villainise Wilbur even more and make us feel even worse for Fundy. Which just sucks cause in the beginning Wilbur was a good dad. But if that's what they're going for then that's more angst to the plot because ouch that's real
@@birdparadice1 I mean there are plenty of retcons to the dsmp lore already, the most relevant of which (made by Wilbur pretty early on) was that Fundy was born in in l'manburg, to Wilbur and a salmon (now known as Sally). Fundy was on the server before l'manburg was even thought of, so the concept of his childhood is a retcon, too. I disagree that anyone is villianizing c!Wilbur, bc it's cc!Wilbur's character, and he writes him as a villian! A morally grey one, yes, not all bad, but he is a villian. And he's been written that way at least since the start of the election, and developed as one after. Sorry to rant at you, I don't want to come of as disrespectful, I'm just really passionate about the character of Wilbur Soot and him as a villian.
people are saying that Wilbur deserved it, but cmon he's dealt with trauma too, and seeing his son just commit suicide and say out loud that he doesn't care about his father has to be the worst feeling, like you've failed as a parent. You can physically hear the pain in his voice and he did say he's trying to be better, he was telling Fundy that distancing himself from everyone was bad... he's really trying and I'm glad to see that
Fundy doesn’t owe Wilbur or Eret or Nikki or Tommy or Tubbo or Ranboo or Quackity or Philza or Technoblade or Sapnap or Dream or Schlat or anyone on that server any forgiveness. No question. Wilbur just watched Fundy lose a life through suicide. Wilbur didn’t deserve that. FUNDY didn’t deserve that.
@@zombiedd_ Never said he did. Fundy doesnt owe Wilbur forgiveness. But Wilbur doesnt "deserve" to watch his son spiral in the same way he had but not want to reach out, as it would cross those boundaries.
This made me cry. I may have found this out a months ago- (9 months) but this is sad. Wilbur and Fundy had the best relationship before. But this is sad and I was about to die of crying after this. But good job on animation
My take on this lore stream. As a person that is completely caught up on Alivebur Lore and knows basic key events that happened to Fundy in his lore and how he acted and felt, I will say this. Wilbur absolutely has fucked up in the past and he just now, within these few months, has realized that. This stream showed how much the consequences affected Fundy and at the beginning of the stream, he didn't really plan on disrupting Fundy with a apology. Wilbur planned on staying away from Fundy because I believe, deep down in Wilbur's soul, that he knew Fundy didn't want him in his life again (100% against that move btw, thank god Eret tricked him into meeting Fundy). The fact that he also tried to make it normal between them when it clearly isn't reminds me of events with me and my "father". (Fuck parents that try and do this, not helpful on either end when you're lying through your teeth with every word you speak). Fundy deserved answers, and Wilbur tried to answer them, but he got distracted by what was said about Techno. Wilbur is learning about every single consequence that happened due to blowing up L'Manburg and he's barely listening sometimes due to the "lore recap" of what has happened. Wilbur knows that Fundy needs help, but he can't be the person to do so. Wilbur didn't want anything bad to happen to the people around him when he committed assisted s**c*de by Phil because he thought they would be happier without him. That is what depression does to you. I know it and so does Wil. Fundy is at risk of hurting himself and he can't fucking help him because he knows that it will not end well. Before he leaves the server again, he will ask someone to check on Fundy, to find him and make sure he is safe, for that is all he can do. Wilbur, at this point, can only help from afar because of their long and terrible history. Anywho, fuck lore. who needs it? /j
god I relate to what Fundy is saying here and I hate it. lovely animation also getting an apology that you desperately needed, but way too late to the extent you can't forgive them. it hurts man
I’m not sure how to describe this but I love the way you drew these two and how their emotions are portrayed. I understand how Fundy feels and Wilbur did deserve it as he finally had realized what he’s done. Fundy needs time to himself though isolating himself from others isn’t really gonna help out much as it may just keep hurting himself
c!Fundy has always been my favorite, so seeing him do... THIS, to himself, hurt a lot. Like he's been my emotional support c! and cc for over 3 years now. I cried so hard when he jumped. And I can't even be mad at c!Wilbur, 'cause he's TRYING. Trying to get better, and heal even a little of what he's done. But he was too late. And now we have one last chance, one shot to see c!Fundy's life through.
Damn- This is sad, but it's nice to see them have a serious conversation, because Fundy really did deserve better and I'm happy that Wil apologized to his son.
I could literally go on a full rant about how underrated Fundy is but the more I watch his arc the more I realise how scarily accurate his character reflects onto myself and this scene in particular broke me more than the other characters within the DreamSMP because I realised this end could have happened to me too if I didn't get help. Pushing people away is a common symptom of neglect as a way of feeling that you can't get hurt by them again, or that you can't hurt them either (it works both ways). However, the isolation makes it only worse, especially when you have to see the people with no escape. If I hadn't gained support from my carers there is no way I would still be alive today. Thanks to them :)
5:31 my best friend left me alone for a year and so I know how Fundy feels, even though it’s acting it feels so real. My best friend and me would talk every day and one year, when school came around again he wasn’t in school and I was worried and scared that he hurt himself really bad and when he showed up one day on my street when I was outside sitting on top of and old car, he walked down the street, I just looked at him and said hello and smiled and he flipped me off and I just backed away and started crying. After a few months of being sad about it I started taking care of myself again and realized how bad he made me feel about myself, then I started getting angry and scared for him because I knew if I yelled he wouldn’t show up for a while so I bottled my anger and one day I when he was there and my other friend was there I went to the woods and started punching trees and crying. We got over that and were friends for a couple more years and then he became even worse of a friend so I just told him I couldn’t do this anymore.
The more Wilbur apologizes to people, the more i feel like he is gonna off himself a second time (yes i know Phil killed him but it was Wilbur that told him to do it)
I totally agree with one comment that Fundy should have someone beside him and not be in isolation for so long alone but I totally get wheres hes coming from with being betrayed and tossed aside- And sometimes isolation is what you need. Just to sort out your thoughts, get stuff organized and calm yourself down- Being along for a long time however isnt okay as as Fundy ended up loosing a life for can end up festering in your thoughts. Ghostboo said something along the lines of being dead feels so free- and I feel like Fundy just wants to be free thus why he took a life. I feel like it is impactful though showing hes done with the empty life that happened to him and all the pain and he's restarting. I also feel like this is the most genuine apology Wilbur has because he wasnt prepared for it and sure he tries spinning it his way but once he realizes Fundy doesnt forgive him and his self isolation problem he became more geuinely concerned because he knows he cant do anything about it. (Side note tho: Wilburs stuttering really bothers me I dunno why lol)
wilbure knew fundy was self icolating and he knew that ment he was feeling suicidal because thats exactly ware wilbure was when he blew up l'manburg and then had phil kill him. thats a painfu; parralel if there ever were one, wilbure was even trying to explain he was suicidal but then didn't he just apoligized, dose fundy even know wilbure was suicidal. (probebly an unpopuler opinion though but i feel like out of all the people wilbure was fucked up to fundy was the least so i find it intresting he's the most mad.)
Getting bojack horseman vibes from wil and I don't KNOW WHY. He tries so hard to do good and pleads for others to forgive him but they dont, and he feels hopeless, andhe cant help but resort back to his past. Its sad
The things that hurts the most about this is that he wasn’t even gonna say sorry to fundy… I doubt he was even gonna visit him. The old reason he saw fundy was because eret told him niki would be there. He was never going there to see fundy.
Though that probably going to make Wilbur not want to apologise to others more like Tommy. He was scared to apologise and even tried to leave after meeting fundy, but Fundy yelled at him to stay. Then later Fundy was yelling at Will to leave and saying that he doesn't care about an apology. Will probably isn't going to talk to Tommy now out of fear that he'll react the same. There's no point in seeing someone nor apologising if they want nothing to do with you.
OH MY GOD SO MUCH LORE THAT I MISSED (I wasn't really active in Dsmp fandom last half of the year, so I need to learn some) but this is so cool and sad at the same time, great animation)

@Butterflievie people hurt people and those people hurt by them will just hurt others or just hurt them back instead, it's an endless cycle I grew up familiar with at the age of 10.

yeah! and philza warned him about that! but it looks like more people have to show him that first before he finally understands. man
You know what the kicker about this is?
Wilbur was never GOING to apologize to Fundy. Eret told him he needed to and he really was unbothered, and even said I'll maybe think about it." He didn't agree to apologize, he only agreed to consider thinking about apologizing. The only reason he even got to know any of this was because ERET set him up. He was looking for NIKI to apologize to, (as his FINAL apology) with Eret's directions to find her. He goes and finds Fundy INSTEAD of Niki and realizes Eret was leading him to Fundy to apologize instead of Niki.
That's the worst part. Fundy is so hurt and broken that he couldn't even accept Wil's apolgy
and Wilbur was never even going to apologize.
@@diddykitty746 agreed 100%
@@diddykitty746 Dad person doesn't equal Villian tho
Wilbur's insane and manipulative but that doesn't mean he's a straight-up villain, so yeah I can see why people get upset when others villainize him
Hmmm
I've thought about this idea, how people are upset at others for villainizing wilbur when he clearly is struggling with mental health issues and this is my take on it.
They DESERVE to be mad at him, reguardless if "oh no but wilburs feelings will get hurt :(
Wilbur is the one OFFERING to fix their pain, and they are simply telling him what actually needs to be done to do that.
@@Lilackity He never got mad at Tubbo not accepting his apology?? He was actually pretty chill about that.

Broke me
And I'm glad Wilbur is finally growing up, learning to apologize
But he does need to know, an apology isn't going to fix everything
I do feel bad for Fundy, he really deserved to feel loved, to feel cared for, and I'm sad he never did
I've been in that place, and I still kind of am, where no matter how much I help, no matter what I do, they don't really care

This hits too close to home, especially the part about c!fundy isolating himself and yet he thinks of it as looking out for himself.
Listen if you've hurt someone to the point they don't want you anymore
You have to realise to leave them alone cause you are the problem in the first place. Even if you've changed the things you did won't be undone unintentional or not just apologise and leave.
Ah a fellow Wilbur kinnie
hi!
A lot of fundy's trauma isn't from Wilbur though
All Wilbur really did was neglect fundy when his own mental health was going downhill, and with the amount of times fundy mentioned that others have ignored him, I feel like the furry boi is just projecting it all onto Wilbur oof.
This dialogue
On the whole server, everything that have been happening for 2 years, this is the one interaction that legitimately made me cry
It just feels so...raw, so genuine
Everything after 3:49 hits really hard
maybe cause of how true it was, fundy was in fact a part of almost everything, and yet nobody cared. he worked so hard and no one used his work. he always joined others to help, to find a family, and yet no one ever joined HIM, they left him behind and tossed him aside. (not entirely true cause there was one person that joined him, even if for a short while, niki.)
tw: vent
I feel like this scene and Wilbur’s apologizing recently has hit close to home with my relationship with my own father and seeing it happen with another child and parent even if it’s acting is really comforting to know it’s not just me that is able to forgive him but not want him around.
When did Fundy feel bad about not accepting Wilbur?
thank you for sharing that- to vent for yourself and also for more fickle things like Minecraft roleplay :,) i appreciate the perspective, especially how some people (including me) might have found it a strange and sudden change of heart when fundy had gone from being bitter about wilbur leaving once again + wanting to hang out, to adamantly demanding for him to get out of his sight. fundy made the same discovery you did and i see why you can find solidarity in this
This stream hurt to watch, but this animation hurt so much more. You’re great at depicting emotions and that just makes this some much more angsty 💜

Your animatics are always full of such emotion and convey everything that Wilbur and Fundy were trying to show in their bit here, never stop
Wow the expression on this is amazing and you can really tell Wilbur was feeling bad
I haven't watched the actual lore stream- but this. JUST THIS ANIMATION MADE ME CRY??? HELP??? 😭😭💀
Fundy: You know what- just leave.
Wilbur: But I just..-
Fundy: Then do it again!
Wilbur: Uh- ok ._."
this..this made my cry. it reminds me of me and my dad and its just-AAAAAAAAA

You did an amazing job on animating this wow !
FUCK my heart I hate and love at the same time how relatable this whole interaction was
Something that isn't in this animation but did happen on the stream I thought I'd bring up:
C!Fundy mentions c!Wilbur doing something bad to c!Fundy during his childhood (making him eat off of the floor) and c!Wilbur says something like, "I don't remember that.
Oh yes I can relate to that, "we would never force you to do x" and then the next week they try the same thing in a different context.
Me to my family: "oh I have a vivid memory of you doing this."
Family: "WE WOULD NEVER!"
Honestly, this just feels like a retcon to villainise Wilbur even more and make us feel even worse for Fundy. Which just sucks cause in the beginning Wilbur was a good dad. But if that's what they're going for then that's more angst to the plot because ouch that's real
@@birdparadice1 "Honestly, this just feels like a retcon to villainise Wilbur even more"
Yeah, theyve been doing that a lot recently
Sorry to rant at you, I don't want to come of as disrespectful, I'm just really passionate about the character of Wilbur Soot and him as a villian.
i never thought i'd be watching dsmp animatics every again but wow. this was good
people are saying that Wilbur deserved it, but cmon he's dealt with trauma too, and seeing his son just commit suicide and say out loud that he doesn't care about his father has to be the worst feeling, like you've failed as a parent. You can physically hear the pain in his voice and he did say he's trying to be better, he was telling
Fundy that distancing himself from everyone was bad... he's really trying and I'm glad to see that
I mean, he kinda did fail as a parent but-
Fundy didn’t owe Wilbur any forgiveness though.
Technically Philza did an assisted suicide on Wilbur in front of everyone. So..
I am very interested in this storyline I know NOTHING about!

Wilbur is realizing that fundy is going down a path similar to his own in a different way, and from that dialogue you can hear it terrifies him
"You were there, and you *were* my dad, and then, bye! I didn't get a note, I didn't get to see you-" ow 😭 fundy's acting is so good
I could literally go on a full rant about how underrated Fundy is but the more I watch his arc the more I realise how scarily accurate his character reflects onto myself and this scene in particular broke me more than the other characters within the DreamSMP because I realised this end could have happened to me too if I didn't get help.
I swear, if they don't ever forgive each other i'm gonna be so sad. :(
5:31 my best friend left me alone for a year and so I know how Fundy feels, even though it’s acting it feels so real.
I love how ypu drew fundy. Best design I have seen by far
The more Wilbur apologizes to people, the more i feel like he is gonna off himself a second time (yes i know Phil killed him but it was Wilbur that told him to do it)
I dont think he will off himself, or not in a traditional way at least
yeah whenever he mentions that he's leaving for a short time it seems like he's either going to die again or actually leave forever
This aged well
I stan fundy so much bc of that. Tell em u litlle rascal!!
your rendering of expressions made me cry more you did so well helping me picture this :0 /pos
You gave this szene so much more emotion in your animation, I love it so much. The music, the expressions, you did a fantastic job
wilbure knew fundy was self icolating and he knew that ment he was feeling suicidal because thats exactly ware wilbure was when he blew up l'manburg and then had phil kill him. thats a painfu; parralel if there ever were one, wilbure was even trying to explain he was suicidal but then didn't he just apoligized, dose fundy even know wilbure was suicidal. (probebly an unpopuler opinion though but i feel like out of all the people wilbure was fucked up to fundy was the least so i find it intresting he's the most mad.)
Screaming, crying
You did so well with this work on this heartbreaking moment..
