    They need to release this entire show as an album. There are at least 2, if not 3 songs that have been released from this concert that have essentially defined Liliac. This is Kiss Alive.. at inception. And it's magic. I'd leave that to the ear of Poppa Liliac; but, I'm betting the rest of the night was just as amazing. This should be a full live album.

    I sense Sam is strong with The Force. He can pull it back then go straight to plaid speed, he can shift time signatures instantly, and he's still learning, wow. I noticed he is playing 3d chess with his progressions in Mars. Some next level stuff indeed. Melody is still learning but I sense she hasn't even hit 3rd gear yet, exciting to imagine where she still could go to yet.

    Thank you Oldskule and Cassie! Great reaction, loved all the extra info. For me, the vocalist tends to outshine anything else with this band, so I miss a lot otherwise. I was really into Dio, and had the good fortune of seeing Ronnie with Black Sabbath on the Dehumanizer tour back in the early nineties, so this band resonates with me. It's like they're carrying on a legacy in a way, like when you see a sequel to something with a bit of dread because you're sure it won't like up to the original, but then you find it doesn't suck and you're actually enjoying it, like the opposite of the Phantom Menace -- yeah, like that.

    But true rockers love the 80's band sound. If Abigail is comfortable with it, then let her go. Cymbals flat, cymbals angled, it will work. These young rockers are using what they love, and making it what they want. I want and NEED more Liliac as they are.

  • @about2mount
    @about2mount 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    That closing symbol thing you speak of is somewhat correct but the real reason bands do this----They aim at least one symbol towards the guitarist to signal him twice in two bars when his melodic lead must close or end. Really has nothing else to be used for but that.

    @rayb3117 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Maybe the sound for those symbols was supposed to sound like that. And just because you have yours set up different doesn't make them wrong. believe they were set up like that for a reason. When she uses her double kicks the symbols sound different. But that is my humble opinion. They have only been performing and playing the instruments for the same amount of time. And if you were paying attention, she first turned them down, then turned it back up. And at first glance when she first adjusted them it looked like it was the belt or waist band, but during the second adjustment you can tell its in her vest pocket with the wires hanging down under the vest. And Janis Joplin was very good at the emotions, but currently the only female singer I have heard that has that raspy gravely voice is Beth Hart

    I'm so glad you mentioned the cymbals. You nailed it and its been like that for awhile now. Very DULL, no punch in them. The great part of these kids is they are STILL growing, they will only get better. Melody's a terrific and dynamic singer. She is what is missing in today's music. They can get a real good producer, ala Bob Ezrin. He could REALLY pull some incredible shit out of them. A lot of potential in these kids

    • @mattwillis4562
      @mattwillis4562 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Imma go out on a limb here and call bullshit on the cymbals critique. She's powering through them purposefully, they show that they are giving the amount of decay THAT SHE WANTS. Listening to this closely, I'm putting this 100% on the tech rigging the inputs for the overheads and also the high-hat. NONE of her cymbals have nearly any sound, including the high-hat. Can hear the snare, the toms, and yes even the kick, but there are NO cymbal inputs in this mix. If I was Abby, I would have jacked the sound guy right in the fucking jaw after that show.

    • @sams2960
      @sams2960 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mattwillis4562 Band on this current budget isn't going to have a Venue concert console with direct outputs to Pro Tools ($60,000 base price). For what they have, I think they are doing great. House mix and what they captured to sync to video are probably two different things. So unless you were AT the show, I'd go easy on the sound. They are self financed and self produced for a very good reason - to maintain total control over their minor age children. Abby has a whole new package with sponsors now - full double kick with all new rig including cymbals.

See, you’re falling into the trap of the old style, believing that’s how it always should be, no matter what. Obviously this is what she/they want, for the sound, because it’s different, yet they do it on purpose, so it’s intentional, obviously. And your option says so, clearly theirs says different.

They fucking stomp 99% of so called bands, easily, with zero effort, you say they don’t, ok you play like they do, when you’re as young as 12, I’ll wait, oh, you never did, like all of us here on YT, of you did, and could, then, you wouldn’t be reacting, you’d be being reacted to, like they are, because they are epic and cover Metallica, iron madien, etc and do their own music too.
