Thanks Chris, I rebuilt my Crown pallet jack tonight and it work perfectly, no leaks. Your step by step directions came in handy. This will save my back!
thanks so much! i was rebuilding one of these but the seal was broken into pieces so it wasn't obvious which way the original was in. This videos helps so much. Wish I watched it before starting.
Just did a rebuild on a PTH50, couple of things I figured out: - to install the lower ram seal (above the plastic bushing), the metal bushing can be used as a seal install tool. Install the spacer, drop the seal (pressure side facing down), then insert the metal bushing, carefully line up the seal by inserting the the ram rod, remove the ram rod and then use the pump cylinder (hollow side down) to press the seal in using a long c-clamps. Tighten carefully until the seal sit. You can then tap around with a punch to clear the snap ring groove - straight snap ring pliers are the perfect tool to install the pump cylinder inner seal (no need to blunt pliers), same method as shown here. - To install the pump cylinder snap ring, use a long c-clamp to compress the spring then tap the snap ring with a punch. - do not install the valve balls / poppet / etc before installing the release valve cross pin, the release pin needs the extra travel to clear the cross pin
I have and older pth and everything seems to make sense except the pump cylinder seal. The rod is a slip fit into the cylinder to start so once you add the seal there is no way the rod will go through the seal.
Correct, the early model PTH units did not use a pump piston pressure seal, rather the design relied on a tight slip fit with cylinder to build pressure. If cylinder is worn it will need to be replaced. Part number 41995 genericparts.com/search.php?search_query=41995 If more information is needed please email CSinfo@genericparts.com
Sounds like you may not have the valve assembled correctly, item #30 is either missing or otherwise not positioned correctly. The tip must be positioned inside #32 when #32 is tightened. If you send me your email I can email you the list of parts with above mentioned item #'s, instructions and line drawing. irisn@genericparts.com
The piston on my crown pallet jack is too high up and keeps getting pushed back up by the spring that I can't reinstall the handle. How can I get the piston inserted lower to align the handle at the right height?
Hi Jeff! You can get it on our website. It's part number CR BHT right here www.genericparts.com/store/app/Search_Results_PS_ALL.cfm?partSearchSubmit=1&formName2=%23GetFileFromPath%28GetTemplatePath%28%29%29%23&formQuery2=%23CGI.QUERY_STRING%23&partNumber=CR+BHT&Submit=Search
My pallet jack was repainted and they painted over the sticker. My lift assy. looks like this one. Are there any numbers stamped on this to help id it? If so where should I look? Or should I strip it down and spec out the parts?
Hi William! Could you take a picture - from the side - of your hydraulic unit and text it to us 503-523-8990 take a picture like this: th-cam.com/video/ugVLBXuPJqQ/w-d-xo.html

I’m on last part but the lift ram won’t go down when I lift the actuating pin. What can do ?

I'm having problems unscrewing the hydraulic fill screw on my PTH Crown pallet jack? Any suggestions
Plugs sealed with copper washers can be loosened by striking with large pin punch and hammer. Then use screw driver

Where do you get the valve housing tool? I can’t find anything like that online.

Where shall I get the repair kit for this crown jac
You did a good job, but the camera should of been pointed at the pump showing us what your doing instead of us watching you do it at a distance. IMO.
Thanks. It's tricky since the actual work is inside the hydraulic unit and not really visible.
Are there kits for a pth20?
We are not aware of a Model PTH20, please double check should be PTH50. And we do have kits for the PTH50.
The camera should focus closer to see the repair process in more detail.
Thanks. The challenge with this rebuild is that most intricate work done is inside the hydraulic unit - hard to capture on video.
