Part 2 of the led update from HNAsupplies AKA Andy Brooks, in this vid in do the H1 and H7 front lights. So now all that is left is the indicators which Andy has promised to send me asap. So stay tuned for that. Also i will be doing the 3rd brake light in the boot.
is it safe and will nothing burn? I don't know anything about electricity, but I've heard that cables and fuses can burn out, if it is completely safe, I would like to do it in my car. thanks
I have replaced the front indicators on my galaxy mk2 (2013) and had to try a few different brands as I either go hyperflash or CAN bus error messages. Am trying to replace the brake bulbs but have so far not managed to get any that worked, all give me error messages that the bulbs are faulty. Have ordered some Osram resistors to see if those will get rid of the error messages. 1- have you not had any error or warning messages? 2- As you say that the front LEDs are very powerful I wonder what oncoming drivers will make of that? It would be great to see what the difference is between you driving at night with the halogens and then compare it with the LEDs. Also if possible do a pattern compare against a wall to see how the cut-offs compare
Hiya some good points there. I do have an error message on the dash to let me know there is a bulb out. Was there before i changed them tho when all halogen bulbs was working. And sounds like a good video to make dsy time and night time drive to compair the differance.
Chaz, where will i find the reversing cable on a mondeo mk4 2007, as im installing reversing sensors, I have grounded but can't find where to put th power cable from my sensor box ?
Hiya sometimes this happens but there is no issue. Mine sometimes shows this but then it goes of. I will be explaining in an up and coming video on these.
@@Damiannott how did you get on? I put h7s in my mk4.5 today and also had canbus error. I've ordered resistors from ebay. U really hope they don't heat up too much and burn the headlight!
Good WORK Mate , Can you send me the link or website where I can buy them I am not based in United Kingdom but ave some friends who will mail it ... Thanks
@@ChazzCoombes Great to hear. Will prob go for the upgrade next time a bulb goes. Is there a great difference in brightness? Would I have to switch back to normal bulbs for MOT?
Know them blue Allen key screws you got holding the grill in? What size did you use? Also will they fit in where the headlight screws are? Just bought a mk4 mondeo and noticed there are screws missing. 🤦♂️ liking these videos too. Keep up the great work!! 😁
Do you even need the plastic adapters on the mk4/4.5? Couldn't you just remove the locking collar fit into the seat on the back of the unit, then fit the retaining spring over it locking it in place then just twist the LED buld unit in place? That's what I'd do 🙂
@@ZorgR hi thanks for your comment. I had these leds in both the ST and MK4 and goes threw MOT each time. I have asked the guy who MOTs my car and he said there fine.
That's all nice but it's a mot failure. You'll have to undo your work (or it will be undone for you) - it's not road legal to stick LEDs into headlamps designed for halogen.

@@neilfinch8331 hiya Neil, yeap they sure are. Only thing is you might need to tap a ground wire which is easy to do.

Hello. I am French and I beg your pardon for my English. Is the little DIY on the H1 headlight bulb necessary? Will it work if I don't.
Hello mate great video what make are the h1 please
Allow bud what lights are they ???
Great video and love that handy power tool. Do you have to splice the cable or can you get away with not doing it?
Have you done a mod for the folding mirrors on the mk4 like you did on the mk3
Something im looking at doing soon i hope.
How did you manage tothe covers back on the rear of the lights I’ve got some new led bulbs and the covers no longer fit the fan sticks out way to far
Do you live by the coast by any chance?
Hi chazz need to replace my low dipped beam i pressume this is the H7 am i correct same car as yours 09 mk4
Hiya Eddie, yeap thats the one. Hit Andy up at HNAsupplies im sure he will be glad to help.
I have the same car but I don't know how to turn off the headlights with the engine running.
Didn’t you get a light warning on your dash? I’ve got the same h7 led’s and every half a minute I get a bong and warning.
Nope i get a stop light out sign and then thats it.
@@ChazzCoombes okay, I’m going to try some warning cancelers then. And if they don’t work going to 100w halogen, thanks.

Guys, I changed my dips to LEDs, work fine bar an intermittent "low beam bulb fault" on dash. Anything can be done?
Put a load resistor. That will trick the car
Not good for the other road users, should be projector lights

Ignore my last comment, I've just changed a set and no the Mondeo has a stupid setup requiring these adapters!
adding leds to classic light is suicide for driver, it look great but its useless, and what about MOT? and what about drivers front of u?
Most cars have led now it’s commonplace. You can get ones such as these that will pass an mot it depends on the type of bulb
@@CanterRsps No, they won't - if the headlights are designed for halogen lightbulbs. What this chap has done in the video is a mot failure right away
